----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
The Philadelphia Eagles at the Dallas Cowboys kept NBC in the overnight winner’s circle on Sunday, with an estimated 13.4 rating/20 share for the primetime portion from 8:30-11 p.m. But CBS also benefitted from football with a primetime overrun at an approximate 16.5/27 from 7-7:45 p.m. Keep in mind that all program results for CBS are estimated due to football bleeding into primetime.

Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America at a 1.9/ 3 at 7 p.m. (#4), a 4.5/ 7 (#2t) at 7:30 p.m. and an 8.0/13 in the 8 p.m. half-hour.

Leading out of football on CBS was the combination of the following:

CBS/Sunday
7:30 p.m. – Football: 15.7/26 (#1) / 60 Minutes: 11.6/18 (#1)
8:00 p.m. – 60 Minutes: 12.0/18 (#1)
8:30 p.m. – 60 Minutes: 11.2/17 (#2) / The Amazing Race: 7.4/11 (#2)
9:00 p.m. – The Amazing Race: 6.8/10 (#2)
9:30 p.m. – The Amazing Race: 7.8/11 (#2) / The Good Wife: 6.5/10 (#2)
10:00 p.m. – The Good Wife: 7.3/11 (#2)
10:30 p.m. – The Good Wife: 7.3/12 (#2) / The Mentalist (R): 5.0/ 9 (#2)

Elsewhere, ABC had nothing unusual to report with its line-up of veteran America’s Funniest Home Videos (#3: 4.2/ 7), sophomore Once Upon a Time (#3: 5.6/ 8), relocated Revenge (#3: 5.3/ 8) and 666 Park Avenue, which earned its cancellation stripes with a 3.0/ 5 (#3) at 10 p.m. Although Revenge trailed year-ago occupant Desperate Housewives (5.8/ 9 on 12/04/11) by only nine percent in the overnights, keep in mind that Desperate Housewives at the time was plunging to record low ratings.

Fox was below average last night with its animated line-up of Bob Burger’s (#3: 2.7/ 4), The Cleveland Show (#4: 2.3/ 4), a repeat of The Simpsons (#4: 2.8/ 4), an original installment of Bob’s Burger’s (#4: 2.5/ 4), a repeat of Family Guy (#4: 2.8/ 4) and American Dad (#4: 2.7/ 4).

  1. I hate this writer who criticize Revenge's ratings

  2. Yay, OUAT!

And 666 Park Avenue's ratings were up, but not like it would have helped anyway.

  5. CBS doomed to be adjusted down, at least for TGW. The Mentalist has really been killed by this time shift. They might be wrapping it up come May cause it's going to be at the bottom of CBS' non-Friday stuff, and heck, it's even verging to the point of being below some of them too.

  6. expect a pretty big downward adjustment

  7. CBS makes a LOT of money off of football. When they showed the ad sales numbers, football was higher than almost anything. So, I'm guessing it must be worth it to them to deal with the overruns into primetime, and they have to take that into account when cancelling/keeping shows in those slots.
