-Ratings Breakdown:
The Detroit Lions at the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football led NBC to overnight victory with an estimated 13.7 rating/21 share for the primetime portion from 8:30-11 p.m. The 11 p.m. half-hour netted a 13.1/23 for the end of the football game. And this will, no doubt, be more than enough for Sunday Night Football to top the week in the rankings.

Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America at a 2.2/ 4 (#4) at 7 p.m., a 3.9/ 6 (#4) at 7:30 p.m. and a dominant 8.5/13 in the 8 p.m. half-hour.

In season-finale news, two-hours of The Amazing Race on CBS concluded with a second-place 6.5/10 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was 17 percent below the 7.8/11 for the one-hour year-ago edition on 12/11/11. Congratulations to the “Beekman Boys,” Josh Kilmer-Purcell, Brent Ridge, who prove that you can never underestimate the underdogs. The Amazing Race led into The Mentalist at a second-place 5.5/ 9 at 10 p.m., which remains on the double-digit downside from its year-ago performance in the Thursday 10 p.m. hour.

At 7 p.m. on CBS, of course, was older-skewing granddaddy 60 Minutes at a healthy second-place 8.6/14 from 7-8 p.m. The clock will keep ticking on this newsmagazine indefinitely.

In original movie news, Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Christmas With Holly on ABC got some mileage at a 5.1/ 8 from 9-11 p.m., peaking at 10:30 p.m. with a 5.4/ 9. And this will, of course, skew older. But overnight results of this magnitude do pale in comparison to when the Hallmark movie franchise aired on CBS.

ABC opened the evening with veteran America’s Funniest Home Videos at a third-place 3.8/ 6 in the 7 p.m. hour, followed by encore animated holiday specials Disney’s Prep & Landing (#4: 2.8/ 4) and Disney’s Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice (#4: 2.8/ 4) from 8-9 p.m.

Fox, meanwhile, got a huge boost courtesy of an approximate half-hour football overrun (#1: 14.5/24) and post-game The OT (#1: 10.3/17) from 7-8 p.m. Next was the regularly scheduled animated rotation of The Simpsons (#3: 5.4/ 8), Bob’s Burgers (#3: 3.4/ 5), Family Guy (#4: 4.2/ 6) and American Dad (#4: 3.4/ 5) from 8-10 p.m.
