Tony's apartment was awesome. Awww at the fact that he named his fish Kate. However, I don't buy that no one has visited his apartment in twelve years. Really, no one stopped by after SWAK? Yeah, no.
Tony and his dad were so adorable at the end. I'm glad Senior came back, and that Tony got the ring. But ugh at him having sex in his son's bed. That's just gross and I don't blame Tony for freaking out on him.
I truly believe Senior was abusive, tbh. I've believed that since before he even appeared and I can't shake that feeling.
Was that really Rena Sofer (M Allison Hart), playing the lawyer? New character, alias? Both Gibbs and DiNozzo seemed visibly surprised at seeing her. If it's not Ms Sofer, that's one hell of a look-a-like.
..AWESOME.episode for me see Tony lair remind me a the game of chest for the color black and white simple,.classic,.the bed room a child retro one ,.the piano detail perfect,.keep the 50 style sense,.but the most funny part the only thing could broke that glass of black and white vintage was the fish tank the name of the fish..K.A.T.E...OMG...the way tony feed and the passion to do it ,,ha,.HA,,ha DELIGHTFUL funny the rest of secondary storyline run smoothly & cool
This episode made me nervous. I kept worrying that Sr. was going to announce he was terminally ill or something. I coveted Tony's apartment...did not expect that he never let anyone in there. Great episode.
Sr was just being... Sr. Senior acts alot (especially around women), like Junior used to. It's possible that Junior's job, and having loved and lost Jean (season 4), that made him "wise up" in recent years.
Yes, I found it odd no one had seen his apartment either, especially since at the end of "Undercovers" S3, they all took Tony home after he got beat to a pulp by that assassin's thug; also, if memory serves, 12 years ago Wendy and Tony were planning a wedding. Maybe that's why no one is now let in, and he has the single bed.
A pretty decent Christmas episode although the case was light. No one contacted the husband for a month, not even his wife? I thought until the end that the secret service agent was in on the heist.
I'm glad Senior made a visit but wasn't part of an investigation.
I thought they went over the top about Tony not letting anyone into his apartment. We've seen everyone show up at Gibbs place and know Ziva invites her co-workers to dinner sometimes, and they've been to both McGee and Abby's homes. It makes Tony seem weird that he refuses to invite the people he has worked with for 12 years to his place to watch movies of hang out.
It makes Tony seem really weird and anti-social.
Some seasons ago, Tony asked McGee to fix his TV, and now they're acting like McGee has never been inside Tony's apartment. It would have made more sense for McGee to offer to lend Tony a camp bed, implying that he'd been there and knew there was only one bed, when Tony said that he couldn't have his father stay over.
I liked Tony and Ziva interaction: the way he looked at her, when he was showing the ring. To Tony Kate was like a sister and I think that she had big influence on him, so it's great that he still remember her :)
The idea that no one has ever come over seems like a huge retcon to me.
If Tony were super introverted, I could buy that he wants to keep his apartment inviolate and keep other people away. But Tony has never struck me as an introvert. He and Abby are the most extroverted people on the show.
Nah, that is a classic TV show move. My friends and I call it 'the table turn'. First, person A is more into person B that person B is into person A. Then, something happens, time passes and suddenly the tables turn. And they turn again, again and again until the couple in question finds its balance. Back in S4, when the first hints of Tony and Ziva started showing up, she was clearly more into him than him into her. Late S6,tables turn. Tony was getting really jealous over Rivkin. And,later on,he goes to Somalia for her even though he knew she was probably dead and, last time they'd seen each other, she had pointed a gun to his chest and accused him of murder. Tony was more into her then, definitely. Now,it's Ziva's turn. One more step towards balance.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was a great episode and I loved it!

I loved this episode,Sr was great and i'm so glad Tony got his family ring,i hope this brings them closer.
ReplyDeleteTony's apt is fabulous but i had to laugh when we saw the single bed, yikes! I got a kick out of Kate the goldfish,Tony seemed quite taken with her!
All in all an interesting case, and a pretty decent x-mas episode! I like how they were all going to watch the movie in M-Tec.
I always like Robert Wagner as a guest star. He is funny!
ReplyDeleteWhat got me was Tony naming his goldfish Kate!
ReplyDeleteLoved that!
ReplyDeletePretty cute. Can't get over the fact that Ziva has a picture of teenage Tony taped to her monitor.

I missed that. I'll have to watch again.
ReplyDeleteI don't like how they make Ziva more into Tony than he is into her.
T: "The lady across the hall from me complains every time I bring a date over."
ReplyDeleteZ: "Shouting of 'no means no'?" - Untouchable
EJ was at his place and wearing his Elvis Costello T-shirt. -can't remember the ep title
Seriously, Jean never came over, and never took that as a GIANT red flag?
He asks McGee over to fix his TV in T&C.
No one came to check up on his after the plague?
Alex
the only time i felt slightly bad for Tony then his dad left the ring and i thought Tony ur an A$$!!!!
