I was extremely apprehensive, but I loved it. Despite all that has been said before the episode, there were so many hints towards a reveal. Colin is just awesome. I loved the scene with the Dochraid. Merlin was so ..... amazingly determined, so close to being evil. so strong. Arthur seems to start noticing that there is something special about Merlin -- well, took him long enough - hope that this sentiment continues. Also loved Mordred - he seems so loyal to Arthur AND Merlin, in fact. He seems to convey that he is on the same side as Merlin at the moment. Obviously things will change - or so it seems. I still think there is going to be a twist in this. Is he just playing at being loyal or has he got his own agenda? As for the trailer - Morgana seems to get to Merlin again. Please let him retaliate for once!
Awesome! My favorite episode of the season! Actually, it may be one of my all-time favorites!
First of all, after years of hoping that Merlin will show Arthur the truth, as in, take him to see the treason in action, I finally got my wish! I was so happy about that, so very proud of Merlin for that! And that's only the first of my two wishes that came true! Later on the second one.
I absolutely loved Arthur working WITH Merlin and Gaius and trying to save Gwen. Also, nice to see him wisely handling things. (Just with one but: Wonder who exactly stayed in Camelot for these few days to rule, guess it must have been Gaius and the council, right?)
Planning and executing the plan were so great. Gaius mentioning that this time "it's a woman" and guys just making a toast and staring at Gwen made me laugh so hard!
And the trip. It looked like this time it wasn't so simple to break the spell. Many obstacles on the way. Merlin falling so suddenly and Arthur after him made me gasp. Same with Morgana attacking Merlin and Mordred from behind!
About Mordred, he was really a hero today. Saved our favorite duo more than once. And I loved his confrontation with Morgana. He's on OUR side. That's what makes knowing what's gonna happen to him so much harder. I like a lot! And Arthur trusts him, for now it's actually for good reason!
Breaking this curse was actually beautiful. I loved the line "with all my heart" from the second I heard the title, so it made it quite perfect really. The way Gwen was still in there and she followed Arthur into the water. Have to rewatch that! And aww, the hug at the end! My lovely couple is back!
Last, but DEFINITELY not least, Dolma! Dragoon was very serious today, so Dolma took over! And how brilliant was that?! Every single detail! And I laughed looking at her, like all the time;)
Colin is such a brilliant actor! His performance today was so amazing! But he's not the only one! Bradley&Angel did not disappoint! They were great too!
And as for the other wish of mine that came true: Arthur finally witnessed truly good and powerful magic and was asked to remember it! That's what I call a progress!
So many funny, serious, lovely, powerful scenes today! Just AWESOME!
Keep it coming, at least for next few weeks! I'm gonna miss Merlin so much!
Colin Morgan is the highlight of this episode again! Three different characters in one episode and played so amazingly! That's perfect. Loved watching him again.
I'm glad others seemed to enjoy the episode as much as I did, it was very well balanced out and it was obvious that the cast were having a ball making it. At times this season I have felt that some of them are a lil tired of the same old scripts, but Alice Troughton has really caught the best of them in this imo. I think this is probably one of my favourite episodes ever :D
Very good episode overall. I couldn't stop laughing at Colin's performance being the girl xD I'm so gonna miss this serie when it's gone. I LOVED Arthur seeing magic do something good for him , maybe there's hope for a reveal (...even if I still don't have much hope to see something good considering the time they'll have to deal with everything)
What bother me is how 1 second Arthur seem so worry about his friend and all and the next second it's like we're back to the first episodes of the serie....One second he's worry that what Dolma might have done to Merlin and the next he's ready to leave without him. Just like last episode he stopped being worry the second gwen told him he went to see a girl and no worry that he might have been attack by bandits or anything (...and don't let me start on the knights for ep. 2 and the poison thing couple of weeks ago....)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh my, I couldn't stop laughing at Colin's Dolma! He played it too well, and the voice! His old lady's voice was better than Morgana's!
ReplyDeleteAnother best part: Mordred vs Morgana. You could see how hurt she was when she saw him, it was a very nice moment, and Mordred used magic!
Mordred and Merlin's talks are always intense, more of that please.
Why Merlin just doesn't summon Aithusa and talks and helps her? Not gonna happen, I know...
Overall, it wasn't as bad as some reviews said, although I think Gwen should've struggled a bit more when they were trying to break the spell.
And Arthur, stop making promises about remembering the good side of magic, you always forget about it later.

Oh, I forgot about Emrys and the Dochraid, he was a badass in that scene.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Mordred is pretending, something will happen that'll make him turn, I think that's the twist.
And yes, please Merlin, strike back!!!

my question is: where the hell is kiss batween Gwen and Arthur?!?!

ReplyDeleteYeah, it seemed strange that Mordred said 'you so much stronger than me' to Morgana, just to knock her out a moment later. :)
