just an ok ep for me. the cotw was decent but a bit predictable and allowed for a bit of development for the Max character, but the "Danny and the models" plot wasn't great between the heavy product placement and the bad acting, and the naked foot chase was too cheesy imo...
No Catherine :( but I was expecting that, we saw her a lot last week, and she wouldn't be useful in any way in that episode (she could have been with Steve, Danno and Grace at the end but that's all)
The models plot weren't not good at all, fortunately it wasn't so much developped so it's good ! Steve, come on ! Being "kidnapped" by that guy, so weak ! He ran and jumped everywhere sooner on the episode, and he doesn't desarmed him ! Way to bad !
I loved Kono/Steve during the chase of the naked man ! Funny ! And Max ! He was awesome and so cute ! Great plot for him ! It was really well done and a great moment !
So a good episode, but definitively not the best .
I was about to theorize that the Danny aside story was because the model (Behati?) decided she wanted to be an actress...and then I thought...that would make more sense if this ep was airing after the Super Bowl and then I flashed on the genius the Alias showrunner exhibited for the ep that aired after the Super Bowl that year. Super Bowl ends and BAM! Jennifer Garner modeling a red nightie.
sorry. Where was I?
Don't think we *really* needed the Danny aside storyline. It's great that I'm getting to see C. Thomas Howell more these days. He looked healthier to me which is a good thing.
But none of that is the reason this episode was good. I loved every minute of Max's story. I always love when Grace is on the screen. The guys are always so mushy when she's on the screen.
If they had made C Thomas Howell a good guy, I would have IMMEDIATELY given up on Hawaii Five-0. There is no way I could EVER see him as a good guy (His characters in Criminal Minds and Torchwood make me believe he has to always play bad guys), so I'm glad they didn't screw it up :)
I am actually really happy at how they did the Danny saving Behati scene. So many times on TV does a guy come in with a gun, and without even aiming, puts 4 in the attackers' chest. It's unrealistic.
Ohhhh ! Thanks to you, I know where I saw the bad guy lol ! Since this morning, I was trying to find where I saw that guy ! Of course, Criminal Minds ! It's the guy who killed Hotch ex-wife right ? ^^
LOL ! Every time I consciously heard "Victoria Secret" it was in ads for the episode. I was completely oblivious *during* the episode. I'm not quite sure what that means with regard to the success or failure of the embedded advertising. :-)
C.Thomas Howell is also in Southland playing a drunk cop.To me he was a sleaze ball besides being a drunk. He had left for a few years but coming back this season, ugh. Not looking forward to his return!
I could have lived w/o the tie in to Victoria's Secret, and Bradley is so right about Danno shooting the crazy lady in the hotel, but it was a good episode, but not great.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Yeah ! I totally agree with heavy product placement, and the bad acting ! They focused a lot on the brand !
ReplyDeleteSome of the hottest models on the planet and Grace Park was still hotter than them. ;)

Um. What product? I totally missed it. Which means either I'm not the target audience or I need to get out more. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe're talking about Victoria Secret ! We saw the brand everywhere, even in the towel of the hotel ...
ReplyDeletewas a good action pack episode and model performance OK and the dialog describe who she is perfect.represent a fantasy

ReplyDeleteYes. I still see CTH as the Reaper. Do you watch Torchwood?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't, But of course he always plays bad guys, he has a face for it lol !
ReplyDeleteYeah. Like I said, if he had played a good guy, I would have boycotted H50. He is not the good guy type.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree - He has such weird eyes lol :)
