  6. In shock...I was wondering near the end there what they were gonna pull as a cliff hanger... A+ guys consider me worried and curious!

    RIP Nina

promo for next week: "The plan is going to reset time."
So what?? We end up back in the blue universe back at the beginning thus erasing the whole show!! WHAT?? AHHH! How can they do that?

    Reset to where??

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well... DOnald is september we still dont' know who Michael is

    ReplyDelete
  8. They will either resest to the day Peter,Anna and their daughter are in the park,or a total maybe S2 or 3.

    ReplyDelete
  9. you mean Liv/Peter/Etta in the park. I do want the reset to the park that seems like a good time.

If they reset before the whole faux depocale that could help polivia. But if they reset will they loose their memories b/c i do think they have learned a lot and gotten stronger throughout s5!

Loved the mourning scene with peter caring for Liv sweetly. And the little polivia moments in this episode- I'm a total shipper.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I don't think they'll loose there memories, but they may lose them.

  11. ..Very .slow episode the good and also sad the death of NINA & September will be HUMAN woow

  12. He's anomaly - XB-6783746

Seriously though i think he is just Michael. AKA the archangel who takes out Satan (Windmark)

    ReplyDelete
  13. September or someone else huh? I think you got it narrowed down. :-P

What makes you think he is September?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I rather loved it myself. It's not every day Fringe confirms a theory of mine. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  15. Awesome episode... but of course that's standard when Fringe is concerned. Props go to Nina Sharp, being a freaking bad ass when confronting Windmark, not giving into him, and comparing them to lizards and animals. You will be missed Nina.

It was sad to see Walter regressing to who he used to be, and I think some of his sadness (not all because of course he cared about Nina) might have come from possibly loosing the chance to have those pieces of his mind taken out. I worry for Walter, both for what he might become and for his life on the show.

I wondered if Donald might be September but I dropped that fleeting thought as I thought Michael would be September. Love how the show continues to surprise me.

Keep on keepin' on Fringe, I will miss you when you're gone, but I'm savoring you ever minute until you do!

  16. Where is the epic button. Omg need to be reanimated, my heart stopped for a sec right as...
freakin awesome show. It can't end. That is just wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Really? Ok, sorry for typo

    ReplyDelete
  18. AWWWWW... Goodbye Nina!!!! :'-[[[[[ ... She offered herself for a greater good indeed!!! I had the feeling that Michael was/is September {it's all in the name right?} ... And Oh man I soo wanted to give windmark a kick in his arse by accusing US for being animals.... Deuh! Have a look in the mirror, I say!!!

R.I.P. Miss Sharp!!! You were AUSOME!!!!!!

Maybe Michael is Donald's (September's) son and September didn't want this 'anomaly' get 'destroyed' as Windmark said.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm kind of thinking Michael and Peter have some sort of connection. What that is though I have no clue but I just have a hunch that they do.

    ReplyDelete
  21. i dont know i just thought the kid might be september unless he is someone else

    ReplyDelete
  22. You my friend have the vague market cornered.

    ReplyDelete
  23. OMG! OMG! OMG!

There were so many amazing things in this episode that I don't know if I'll be able to get my thoughts straight!

    - The scene where they used tech to listen to Nina's conversation off of the glass in her office was a throwback to S1 "The Road Not Taken". In that episode, Peter used his homemade tech to listen to the melted glass window in Susan Pratt's apartment.

    - "So in reality, you're the animal." I've been waiting all season for someone to tell Windmark to 'F*** off', and boy did Nina deliver! But then she died, and my excitement turned to heartbreak. Again. Thanks Fringe.

    - Michael gave Walter memories of Peter from the Blue Universe! Walter remembers Peter now! I really hope that's the case because it's always killed me that Walter and Peter's relationship never returned to normal after S4.

    And the best...

    - DONALD IS SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!

A few weeks ago, I was rewatching 'Letters of Transit', and realized that Walter told Simon and Etta that what happened to September was "unexpected". Unexpected doesn't necessarily mean dead.

    - Also, "The boy must live". I always thought that September was referring to Peter when he said that, seeing as he had just saved him from drowning in a frozen lake. Was he actually talking about Michael? If so, that would have been a weird time to mention it, since Walter wouldn't be meeting that 'boy' for another 20 years.

Off to piece my brain back together now.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The kid being September has been a common theory for a while now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can't even begin to process this episode. Amazing, just simply amazing.
RIP Nina - just to say you've gave an awesome speech to Wndmark - that scene was freaking perfect.
And the end - brilliant sequence, it gave me goose bumps.

My brain is full of emotions and theories, especially when I see what the hell are we going to watch in the next three hours. I think I'll just try to relax and let them suprise me, which they undoubtedly will. Counting days until the end :'(

    ReplyDelete
  26. The one theory related to this I have considered since last season is that Peter needs to die on Reiden Lake.

September said "The boys is important. The boy must live" referring to Peter. I always assumed that meant Peter was related to the ancestral line of the Observers evolution. Maybe genetically (red+blue devices = Red Peter + Blue Olivia = Etta is the direct ancestor of the Observers) or maybe some action he took or event he was personally evolved in shaped the future that led to the Observers rise to power.

So if Peter is never saved by September on Reiden Lake, the Observers will never have existed in the future or at least their evolution will have been altered enough that they will not be a world conquering species in the future. So humanity would be saved/ never put in danger from the Observer threat.

I'm not completely sold on the theory though.
    - Issue #1: If Peter was THAT important to the Observers I would think that every Observer would have realized his importance and not just September. Possibly September realized his importance because he was/is emotionally tied to Walter and the rest of the Bald Brigade were/ are not.

    - Issue #2: If Peter's existence is important to the Observers why would they attempt to erase him from the Blue timeline.?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great episode ! This season is amazing, can't believe it's almost over =(
Nina sacrificing herself was so brave, It hurts me to see walter and olivia like that =(, and peter trying to comfort them was so cute
A little polivia moment talking about etta : loved it , and I miss etta so much !!!
Donald is september , yeahh !! What a change to see him with hair lol

Anyway can't wait to see what's next !!! Why do we have to wait 3 weeks ??? I want to learn more about the reset time now !!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. 3 awful voters again i wonder who the are? probably don't even watch the show and cant comprehend brilliance and have no empathy. This Was frikkin Amazing

    ReplyDelete
  29. RIP Nina you rocked so hard in your final moments. I am so glad September as Donald has been confirmed and I wouldn't be too surprised if Michael was September as well or his son perhaps. Michael cried over Nina which shows he is most definitely an anomaly and capable of great empathy, we know September has always been that way inclined with the Bishops so they have to be linked somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Too much brainfreeze to process all the info right now, but man it was mindblowing to see September with hair, ha! The scene where the kid touched Walter and we saw all the memories gave me chills.

One nitpick because it just jumped out so much to me: it baffles me that the Observers always leave these hot resistance locations unguarded after they've done whatever it is. I mean, when they killed Etta, they conveniently left and didn't leave one guard behind, even when they knew how important Etta was to these fugitives. Same with the black lab, I mean they KNOW that their fugitives were there, they know how important Nina was to them, yet they leave no one guard behind. I mean, I know it's needed to give our characters their moment with the deceased but come on.

Anyhow, that didn't take away from the awesomeness of the episode (and especially the episode's ending).

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agreed!
And let us not forget that the entire season our heroes have been based in the origin of all resistance, the basement lab!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Maybe he is really Henry, Peter's son, with Bolivia.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Great episode. Nina died like a boss!

September is back! Very interesting. The way they edited that scene, it seemed like he became human after he died. Very interesting. There were some scenes in there from the blue universe, like Walter checking Peter's eyes at the mental institution!

''The boy is important; he has to live.'' I'm not sure what to think about that. The way I remember it, the Observers were ALWAYS talking about Peter being important. September definitely told Peter ''you are important'' in 4.14. The fact that it's about Michael just messes with my entire view of the show! :p Did September just refer to Peter being important to the Resistance in the future at that time, or something larger? Because if Peter's not important to the Observers (EXCEPT September), then that would make sense. It would explain why September decided against erasing him, while all the other Observers wanted him gone. But I'm not sure. Did any of the other Observers every specifically say that Peter was important?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Awesome! (You are right, Rick!!!)

I looked into the eye of this Island, and what I saw was beautiful."

Sadly and nobly Nina sacrificed herself continuing the theme of the bullet that saved the world. And of course the greatest reveal ever is that Donald is September!XD

I think Nina's final lines to Windmark are some of the BEST lines of the series, but despite some truth in her remarks, Windmark's response to seeing dead-experimented upon Observers showed an emotional vulnerability...something they pretend they don't have.

I think Michael showed Nina the future...or rather an up and coming time line where they will be together again. I think that is what gives her the strength to kill herself.

The Observers tech in trying to track down Nina is a reference back to "The Road Not Taken" (Olivia sees another blue universe with the Lewis and Pratt twins both dead)...at the beginning of season 4 I had a theory that season 4 might be time line that existed before the season 1-3 time line...and I am thinking that might still be true now, except that it is being 're-written' to change the future of the season1-3 timeline, as September had come "back" to warn them from some 'other' future. It could be that September has been traveling between them in order to establish this idea that the Observers of Windmark's time would not know what happened to one of their anomalies and that September would have come accrossed him and not have ever mentioned that data to other Observers...and may suggest two waves or factions of Observers....

This Time Has Been Here the Whole Time Theory: http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=23276

Anyways, the BOY(S) MUST LIVE! So looking forward to our final 3 episodes!

PS:Did anyone think Chris Tiltin's score rendered bits of LOST "The End" during certain scenes??

    ReplyDelete
  35. The thing that now confuses me is that they edited that last scene to make it seem like September was actually talking about Michael instead of Peter! It's a really cool twist because it makes you look at the whole show differently, but I'm not entirely sure if it makes sense...

The way I remember it, they always made it seem like Peter was important. BUT the only time I'm sure the Observers specifically stated that, it was September saying that to Peter in 4.14. I'm not sure if they ever actually said that in any of the other episodes. If it's just September, then it all makes sense; HE is the one that decided against erasing Peter. September is helping the Resistance now as Donald, so it's possible that he only meant for Peter to live so that they could beat the Observers together.

If that's the case, and September WAS referring to Michael all along, it would take away a lot of the ''hyping up'' of Peter as an important part of the mythology, but it would also mean that they tied the end of the show to a random season 1 episode in a very neat way.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Back at the beginning of season 4 I had wondered if the machine had spat out Peter in a previous iteration (possibly the one that Olivia glimpsed in "The Road Not Taken"? (it was referenced in this episode) and that Peter and September went back to "re-write" it, so that the season 1-3 time line would have a different future when all is said and done...

to #2: Perhaps we are in the middle of several loops of iterations...that September has taken charge to use to find away to create better futures...Windmark perhaps never could figure out September's Network?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think ultimately we have "anomalies" and Peter, September, and Michael are all paralleled and entangled together like a "trinity", but they all rely on the love of the other characters...

    ReplyDelete
  38. astonishing, astounding, outstanding.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I voted awesome for this episode. It leaves so much to think and wonder about. One thing is certain though and that's being totally wrong about Nina Sharp. For the first three seasons I never trusted her,and after that still wasn't certain. Last night proved who she really was.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've wondered about the Observers and how they breed, or are they clones or created in test tubes etc....

We have not seen any "female" Observers that I recall. I use female in quotes because I assume all the Observers we have seen are male, but honestly we have no clue since we have not seen an opposite sex or been told their gender.

The title of this episode "Anomaly XB-6783746" makes me think of an experiment or procedure gone wrong more than a freak of nature/ natural mutation. That could fit in with Michael is September's fly in the Observer ointment theories.... or in past years I would have said it related to Bellie the mad scientist. However, this year I do not see Bell being a player so I rule that out....

With so few episodes left I really doubt we will get into any complicated scenario so I'm trying to think of a streamlined way that the Observers can play out. I think the various Machine iterations and multiple universes may just be too complicated for the show to resolve in 3 episodes.

Who knows though.... last year they rushed a lot into the final couple episodes and left a lot unresolved. They could easily do it again I suppose.....

    ReplyDelete
  41. The score was very moving when Walter was holding a dead Nina's hand, and they were all grieving her death. It did remind me of LOST "The End".

    ReplyDelete
  42. I know that, I'm just wondering what brings John to that conclusion. I like to read theories. A How, when, or why goes way further than a simple vague statement.

At any rate I DON'T think The child is September. I think he may be related to September in some way, possibly he is his progeny, but I don't believe he is a young September. It is very convoluted, and will require a long expositional explanation.

My theory, is that September took notice of the way the Fringe team cared for Michael in The Inner Child episode (Bear with me here, time-travel is funky so this is possible), Having been watching these people (Peter especially) he realized that everything they do, they do for the betterment of humankind, and for love, he continued to follow them leading him to become emotionally connected to these three people, Even across Universes as he realized that even his kind couldn't fully erase Peter from the timeline. He is then told by Olivia that she saw him shot in the theater, from there he traveled into the future to see what Olivia was talking about, saw her get shot and die, then went further into the future to see her alive again and to witness his brethren invading 2015, he then went all the way to the far 2609 future to see why, and realized his planet was dying, and then he determined to save Michael because he realized that he was due to be destroyed like other anomalous child Observers, he knew that he saw him in the past already, and that the loop had to be closed, so he took Michael traversed the timeline, and hid him underground knowing that the Fringe team would soon find him, and care for him. September then went back to the amber timeline, and visited Walter in the lab and told him "They are coming" as we saw at the end of season 4. It was at this point that September told Walter about all the horrible things to come, and they formulated a plan to defeat the Observers. September realized that he was able to be track via his cortical implant so he instructed Walter as to how to remove it. Once the tech was removed September began having strong emotions, and it was apparent after a few days that hair was growing on his head and face, "What happened to him was...well unexpected" After several weeks of secretly working in the lab with Walter he left to do his side of forming the resistance.

Anyway I just think Michael is a product of loop causality across timelines (which have no effects on Observers as they see and experience time differently) September saw the child being cared for in the past, so he eventually brought the child from the future to the past to close the loop. The reason Michael is special is because of his anomaly. The Observers saw it as weakness and a reason to destroy the subject, while we humans see it for what it is, a weapon to use against the Observers, possibly Michael is the original "Good" Observer. It is possible that September is trying to change the fate of Observer-kind in the far future making them caring, and empathetic, vs uncaring and apathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well even the amber time line already is in a state of alteration (or was) because September came back (Brave New World pt 2), but they could tell us something complicated in a vague way like September could just say, "I have traveled across several iterations of time lines to bring those I love a better future." or something like that, because I agree in any case their not going to be specific about it, nor do I think they have to be...

The fact they labeled him such a detailed and lengthy number kind of suggest that they have encountered many anomalies ..but I like the prospect that much like Peter (and maybe in the end September), Michael is also one that could away from the fate they wanted, or believed for them...

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wonder if Micheal, Peter, and September could all be related...thinking back to "A Better Human Being" perhaps they are varied offshoot clones...all have the same "father" (Walter???) But I am curious that maybe the "3" of them might be key together...

" It is possible that September is trying to change the fate of Observer-kind in the far future making them caring, and empathetic, vs uncaring and apathetic.

This I love and hope for...

But I am still curious as why we need 2 beacons that as far as we know lock and unlock timelines/universe???

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ya! The memory transference was similar too!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Or the angel of death.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Very well thought out, and along similar lines of where my mind was going (although I hadn't given nearly as much thought to it as you have). It's a tad complex, but then again, so is Fringe and what you're theorizing here makes sense.

And I agree, it is much more enjoyable to read/debate others theories instead of just a lone, vague statement.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think the two beacons work like bookends. One gets sent to 2609, the other gets sent to 2015, and that portion of the universe and timeline is locked away from Windmark and his cohorts. Or...

The beacons are used as place markers for a large time-jump. Like if you wanted to go from 2036 to 2609, or 2609 to 1880, etc...

You would program one to emerge in 2609, and the other to retoactively emerge in like say 1880, and when the fluid space-time continuum realizes both beacons are uncovered in their respective times, they activate highlighting a certain section of time for the cortical tech to be able to traverse along.

  49. peter division fringe on the set fringe strange!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I was gonna make the same point. They really just walked off without considering the very high possibility that Bishop and Co. might be popping back some time soon? D'oh. Still good episode. Best this season I think.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'll have to rewatch it, because I didn't see that he remembered "adult" Peter. -I know everything was the same except that red Peter died at the lake instead of September saving him! It would be really fantastic if that happened! XD

    ReplyDelete
  52. It's during the last scene when Michael is giving Walter those flashbacks. Walter sees flashes from the Pilot when Peter and Olivia go to get him from St. Claire's.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I cannot express what i,m feeling,my damn back momal decided to act of of all days!So i hope tomorrow will be better,,,,,,,,

    ReplyDelete
  54. I didn't see the Peter picture ! His sweat has the redverse Fringe Division logo.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Try to take it easy! We'll catch up when you feel better! :D

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am sad to see another ally in the form of Nina passing. I loved how Michael revealed that Donald was September.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I am just wondering if when Michael touched Nina, she started remembering when the plane crashed , when Yin left in the boat, when she helped Claire give birth to Aaron and when Sawyer was trying to hold on to her so she wouldn't fall in the pit... Are they going to reset time with an A - Bomb?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes till tomorrow, but OMG.what an ending we're going have! i feel like i'm cloud nind,,,,guess we be needing more of what Walter having!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. RIP Nina....u was Great....i wonder if Broyles will come to her funeral?....didnt they have a thing a while back?.....Broyles showed up for one epi, gave them guns and some bullets then disappeared.....maybe he will be a major part of the Finale.....

i think now that we had a MAJOR death, there will be No more....i just cant Cry any more....its bad enough crying cause this Great show is ending but having to Cry again with a major character dying will be TOO Much to take..... :-(

    ReplyDelete
  60. Fuck, I cried. I knew the whole ep that Nina was going to die. Everything was so ominous, yet nuanced. But I teared up, and Walter's flashbacks made me cry and I don't know why.

Did Walter regain his memories from the original timeline as well?
