  1. Awesome! I loved Rose on Charmed, and I haven't seen her in much since.

  2. She hasn't aged well.

  3. Excellent! I think it's great that we are getting a Cora flashback!

  4. She actually looks a lot like Barbara but she's rather old to be playing a 'young' version. I mean, considering that so many of the meat of the stories seems to happen in the late teens and early 20s. I wonder if that means we're going to be seeing a baby Regina played by a young actress, either as a baby or a small child.

  5. She had a car accident that cut her face badly and she had to to extensive plastic surgery to repair the scars. I'm not sure that's the sole reason why she looks weird, but it could be it.

  6. Oh awesome casting choice! I could easily see her as a young Cora!

  7. I'm not too fond of her, let's hope she can pull it off.

  8. I hadn't heard of that, but it might be.

  9. Cora flashback is what I've been waiting for ever since the beginning of the season, but casting Rose McGowan confuses me a little. I think it might not be a flashback to when Regina was born, but to later on in Cora's life, probably focusing on her connection to Rumple. I'm all for it either way.

  10. I liked Rose on CharmedKinda Itrestig they didn't use Lana Parrilla as young Cora.I am hoing e get mor details on Cora an rumpe's past, and how baby Regina fited. Its been hinted ut Cora Is In OUAT's versionof classic Fairy Tales The Miller's daughter from Rumpes story that promised her first bon child In return for turning stew Into Gold. It's possale the OUAT vrion ad herbein taught magi In return for her first born, and she later double crossed him to keepRegina by usig magiche taugt her.

  11. I agree. Barbara playing Regina's mom makes sense when Regina is supposed to be in her 30s now with a bit of wiggle room for her playing a teenager in the flashbacks. But Rose is nearly 40.

  12. It's almost freaky; I was just wondering today if they would be doing an episode set earlier in Cora's timeline and if they'd cast a younger actress in her role.

  13. Yeah, it's true - her eyeglasses were driven into her face by the impact. Pretty nasty.

  14. I'm not really familiar with any of McGowan's work, so I don't want to judge her based solely on her age. Her acting is what counts. However, she does seem a bit old to play a genuinely "young" Cora. If they're going to do the classic Rumple/miller's daughter story, they really should have cast someone in their twenties or early thirties. Then again, if it's set later in Cora's timeline, then I suppose it makes sense. I wonder who they'd cast to play Regina as a child...?

  15. It saddened me when Rose had the accident, her face lost that natural look, but she is still beautiful. it is really nice to see her on screen again. I really like her, and she does look quite a bit like Barbara Hershey.

Besides, I don't think that her age matters as much as her relative age to Cora does: we don't know how old Cora actually is, she might be older than she looks. I don't think they are going to try to pass Rose as a twenty year old, instead they are going to show us that Cora's story with magic started when she was already older. Which I find interesting.

I tend to think that characters that change/are affected by something when they are 35+ do so in a more primordial manner and are unlikely to change back, becoming set in their ways. Characters are more fickle morally and susceptible to change ethics when younger.

So in that way, I like the fact that they cast an older actress as Cora instead of going for the "impressionable young thing turns to darkness" trope. or at least I hope so!

  16. Unless Cora had Regina late... and she indeed had something to do with that 'vile potion' King George talked about.

  17. It's going to be so weird to see her play an evil witch!! I loved her as Paige on Charmed!

  18. oooooh I didn't know that! I thougth she just had to many bad plastic surgery...

  19. I loved everybody on Charmed, but I really hope she can pull it off.

  20. Or Cora is much older than we think. She could have some kind of life extension thing going on...

  21. Well said! :)

  22. That's possible. I'm just confused about K. George and Cora's timeline. If she was the miller's daughter, she married him and promised Rumple she'd give him her firstborn (just like Cinderella, btw). Once she got married, she took the 'vile potion' so she wouldn't get pregnant. But George wanted an heir, so he made a deal with Rumple to get one. OK, up until here it's all fine.

But then what? King George loved his wife, he said as much to Snow. But everything was ruined once she took the potion. So... Cora never met the original James, she left the castle before that? Did George throw Cora out? And how did Cora learn how to undo the potion's effect by herself?

    Too many questions...

  23. Yep but those are questions the show is supposed to answer lol. IF it's true anyway because this is just speculation. :D I'm guessing we will find out soon enough tough, and I can't wait. I can't wait to see Rumple interact with both young and older versions of Cora.

  24. Yes, absolutely. We may have to wait a while longer to find out, since they just casted Rose, but it will definitely be this season, so I'm happy enough :)

  25. Well Rose did play evil witch in Charmed before..she´s gonna nail it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlloeRQXlc8

  26. I'm excited too. She portrayed such a cute, quirky, and likable character on Charmed. She was one of the primary reasons I still liked the show even after losing a main character/sister, and the slight change in writing to 'cheesier'.
