  1. stop with the Ted\Robin story!! it's so annoying!

  2. Jennifer Birmingham "played" the mother in 8x01: Farhampton, so this means we will get another glimpse of the mother in this episode.

  3. Oh, this sounds so good I am so excited for the second half of this season for B/R's storyline. So, I guess this means they are keeping this engagement a second until the time is right. I thought this would happen but I wasn't sure.

  4. seriously. It's going to be hard to buy the mother as the love of his life if he keeps pining for Robin.

  5. I SO wanna see Barney winning over Robin's dad and maybe even helping them really connect! Also, wedding planning sounds like a lot of fun!

  6. i also hate that the writers have had ted being crazy in love with robin its made him less of a character

  7. I agree. It's almost pathetic and totally annoying how Ted just won't realize or accept that there's no future there, especially now. My can't he just move on and meet the mother and be happy with her.

  8. "Band or DJ?" I guess that we will have news about the mother, she was in a band right?

  9. Ah, just goes to show...Ted pining after Robin for years is pathetic apparently, but Barney pining after Robin for almost as long isn't?

  10. Okay, good point. But at least Barney never Mosbyed the hell out of Robin multiple times. Robin's moved on from the relationship. Barney and Robin's feelings for each other were mutual, even though Robin was in denial most of the time.

Ted has a hard time letting things go when he should, but at least he did it last night!

  11. Why the hell does Robin think they need permission from her father to marry? She's a strong, independent woman. Maybe she's just worried that he'll freak out or something.

  12. Oh Ted, when are you going to stop pining after Robin? I thought you let go truly when you gave your best bro your blessing, but I guess you're pretty pathetic when it comes to Robin. Good luck making us believe that the Mother is the one for you. I love you Ted, but for years now everyone has known Robin isn't the one for you.

  13. I'd personally say that a spontaneous proposal is a pretty Mosbey-esque thing to do, with the addition of manipulation. Although I admit that Ted was obviously emotionally above where Robin was marriage-wise when they were dating. But I don't necessarily think that Ted was at fault to still have feelings, just as Barney wasn't. Robin rejected them both, after all, and had Barney given up his efforts then the episode last night would have never happened. I don't think Ted should be bashed for still having feelings...after all, he's not revealing them. He's accepted it's not happening, but he can't help himself any more than Barney or Robin can.

  14. MAYBE if Ted's planning the wedding, he's going to hire a band where the "the mother" is to play at the wedding, that's why the mother arrives with a guitar when he's waiting for the bus after Barney and Robin's wedding...

  15. That's because Ted and Robin belong together. Robin's experience with Barney is LUST while with Ted is True LOVE.

  16. Yeah, no. Ted's soulmate is The Mother.

  17. Rachel Bilson (Cindy) is also in this episode, but I don't know why the hid her from the Press Release.

  18. It's necessary. It's frustrating that everyone is so blinded by their Barney/Robin obsession that they cant see the underlying tragedy of Teds character leading up to the meeting of the Mother. Myopia is a bit of a strong word, so I'll go with tunnel vision, to describe why they're doing what they're doing with that particular plot thread.

i don't ship Ted/Robin, but I just wish everyone would open their eyes to the identifying markers of Ted's character. It doesn't make him less of a character, in fact, It's actually quite the opposite
