    Erm, no. April is right about this. I know she is no Bailey, but this is what Bailey taught her, to be sympathetic to the patients, and she is passing it on.

    No i didn't mean she shouldn't be sympathetic of course she should! Bailey shouldn't have to teach her that.No what i mean is she always gets so darn over excited,talks a mile a minute in that high voice like its the end of the world.Its not the end of the world.My friend is a doctor,and i asked her if she knew anyone who was a doctor that sounded like that,she doesn't.She said no one would work with someone like that,it would make the patient to nervous.

    April may be a doctor but she still has to be herself and April is more high-strung than most people. Besides, we don't know what Ross did or said in that patient's room to make April react that way. Besides, I think Ross is the problem in general. He seems to be the dud intern. He has a crass, smart-ass personality, he actively sabotages other interns, and his skills don't back up his arrogance.

    Not liking her is your prerogative but Grey's is hardly shoving her down anyone's throat. This will be only the third time in eight episodes that these two have had any significant screen time together.

    I think they are, its obvious (to me) the only reason she is on the show is to be Alex's love interest. I don't mind the character to much, shes pretty 2D but not annoying or anything but I don't like the actress at all.

    Maybe it was the wrong to bring it up at this time. Forget what Ross did or didn't do ( I'm almost certain he screwed up ) all i am saying is she is to nervous,too high strung to be a doctor.With all the doctors i have,and had come across besides my friends who are doctors none of them ever loose it the way she does.I always thought doctors were too level headed..

    Comparing TV to reality is a losing proposition. By that standard FOX's House would have been a very short series because Greg House would have lost his medical license before the first season ended.

    Grey's being obvious about something and Grey's forcing something upon viewers isn't the same thing. Yes, Alex/Jo is fairly obvious but the show isn't making everything that those characters do about their impending coupling.

    I think it would have been more accurate to say that you're not invested in the "Jo" character and you don't like the actress portraying her so every scene she shares with Alex feels like an eternity to you.

    First of all you can't go around telling people they're too "high strung" to be a doctor. Are you saying that as doctors, they should adhere to a certain personality type? And they should have a certain kind of voice in order to be a doctor? I guess by that logic, you can't be an actor if you're the least bit shy, or you can't be a lawyer if you're the least bit quiet as well right? This is why doctors undergo a training period. To gain practical experience around patients and to learn patient care. April may act "high strung" and talk a mile a minute but we haven't seen her react that way to her patients. This is exactly what she's trying to teach Ross. I guess Ross has no business being a doctor as well if he acts all disgusted around a patient, but he's an intern and he's LEARNING. Which is the whole point. By your logic Karev shouldn't have been a good doctor at all given his aggressive and violent personality type but guess what? He's a paediactric surgeon, and one of the best at Seattle Grace. And if you're saying that your friend who is a doctor doesn't know anyone who sounds the way April does, then you're picking from a very small sample size which isn't really representative of all doctors. Plus you haven't come across any doctors who "lose it" because they've undergone patient care training to not do just that around their patients. Which is why April came OUT of the room to teach Ross. And like I said before, April has never "lost it" around any patients. And as someone else pointed out, she's a fictional character. Obviously they're written in an exaggerated way.
