ReplyDeleteI'm undecided on this show -- was ambivalent about the pilot, mostly felt it was too morbid but then a part of me was also compelled to try the second episode... Which I never did.
Insights, anyone?
I find that show to be a truly underrated gem. You love The Big C, correct? Then you will like Enlightened. I can't say it's as good, but it's in the same vein : it's inspiring, you care for the characters, it's a great look at how we (often foolishly) try to make a difference in our everyday's life, but it's not a show devoided of hope nonetheless. Laura Dern deserve her Golden Globe win. You should try to watch the first 4 episodes, if you don't like it by then you probably won't get slowly but surely hooked.
