This is it, production of episodes 55 to 62 of Breaking Bad has begun last week, starting with episode 5.09, penned by Peter Gould (longtime writer on the show since the beginning, credited on 9 episodes) and helmed by Heisenberg himself, Bryan Cranston (he previously directed episodes 2.01 and 3.01).
The first table read occurred two weeks ago, and apparently episode 5.09 is just as thrilling as the previous 54 episodes :

Does that mean Breaking Bad will be back in April/May?
No, they'll just have more time to do things. The Final 8 will still premiere in July 2013.
