    Season 6 the shooting. Loved season 7 finale too, but wasn't as exciting and thrilling to watch.

    Thoughts:

    - Season 1 finale is a bit forgettable. The ending scene was very good, but overall I don't think it was on par with the others (not that it was bad or anything, just not as much "finale" as Grey's typically does). Maybe because it was not indeed to be the finale when written.
    - Season 2 finale was amazing. The Izzie/Denny storyline alone would make it brilliant. Add to that the Meredith and Derek storyline and you have one of the greatest Grey finale ever. Just amazing and IMO, took the show to another level.
    - Season 3 finale was very good, bu some things fell a bit forced, and it was kind of stale at points. Overall, it was also very good, but i felt it was behind the season 2 finale. But the Christina scenes were awesome, and the addision sort of goodbyes as well. I liked it very much.
    - Season 4 finale was very good. The MerDer scenes, the Callie coming to terms with her sexuality scenes, the return of Alex and Izzie at last. I liked seeing everyone happy for sure, except for Alex, but I liked his storyline that season and that he had a good spot in the finale
    - Season 5 finale was very good albeita a bit stale as well in some parts, as the season 3. The scene in which Meredith realises it is George there gives me chills everytime. And the izzie scenes with alex were very good obviously, but I did not like very much that we were left hanging on their fates only to have it answered during summer. It would have been better to get an answer then.
    - Season 6 finale was the best IMO. I was on the hedge all the time, and there were sooo many incredible moments. Personally, it is the best episode of the series, every scene is just amazing and they have used every character very well, linking their personal developments with the shooting storyline.
    - I did not like the Season 7 finale. It felt uneventful, had one of my least favorite storylines ever which was Alex "cheating" on his friendship with Mer and everything felt very "meh".
    - Season 8 finale was good, but I felt that the hospital stuff was just staling and taking time from what we wanted to see and I felt much more could have been done. They keep speaking about all the time they spent there and I would have liked to see more of their survival time rather than just the immediate aftermath and the rescue. Also I hated that they killed lexis.

    I don't get why everyone thinks the season 6 finale was the best. When I first watched it, I was on the edge of my seat as well, of course, but once you know how it ends with the shooting, it kind of looses its tension more and more everytime you watch it. It's a great episode, of course, great writing and acting and all, but it's not my favourite.
    The best finale, IMO, is the season 4 finale. I don't know why, but I'm very happy everytime I watch it. Then comes the season 2 finale, then the season 7 finale. Even though the season 7 finale doesn't have any action in it whatsoever, I still think it's great.

    Season 6 is the best hands down. It's actually one of my favorite episodes, too.



    Season 7 was also pretty good and I liked it.

    Season 6 finale for sure. For me one of the great episodes of TV. So intense and shocking. Even though it's less so on rewatch (and that's after many rewatches), it's still captivating TV and excellently acted/written.

    i went with Season 6. That was shocking, and it really kept me on the edge, but there wasn't much of a cliffhanger tbh.

    Season 2 and 5 were also my favorites. Izzie flatlining and George dying was really hard to watch. but i gotta admit it kept me wondering all sumer which one of them would die.

    I loved the season 8 finale ( instead of many others who didn't) although i would've liked it more if lexie hadn't died within the first 15 minutes...

    For me all the finales Izzie was in. I really miss her happiness and shiny character in the show. When Katherine Heigl said she would come back, Shonda should have found a way to write her in for a few episodes. Just to see her and Alex either get some closure and what she is doing now.

    couldn't have said it better myself. I read a tweet a while a go from a fan asking Shonda if izzie could be back in season 9 and she just replied "no".
    Sad. she's never coming back, espcially now that there's a new (and final) love interest for Alex.
