I´m guessing that I watch about 15 shows. Man, you guys watch a lot! How do you find the time? There is a few shows I would love to add to my list (Like Breaking Bad), but I just can´t find the time right now. Usually december is slow and I might catch up on some other shows.

I watch a lot more shows than (I'm guessing) a 26 year old should. Thank goodness for On-Demand and networks' websites:
Sundays: Once Upon a Time, The Mentalist, Revenge (just started watching this season and is more of a "background noise" show as it's between the other two. However, it's very interesting.)
Mondays: Bones, How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls (somewhat background noise), Mike & Molly, Bunheads, Castle

There's also Cupcake Wars, which I try to catch but don't always. This, of course, doesn't include the Disney Channel shows I watch when I can't find anything else on and try to catch up on.
I seriously need to get over my shyness and get a social life Not sure how much I'd cut down on my shows though.
well first of all, not all of them air at the same time, some are summer shows... a lot of mine are 30 minutes, some are "september" shows i watch them before i go to bed or on Sundays ( everything is closed where i live ) and trust me you still have time to do plenty ! so yeah ... ;) i didn't notice how many i watch until now...
Some of these are summer shows, some are fall shows, and there isn't that much overlap. some of these I bank up on and binge later during december or durring august, or whenever shows are on a hiatus. with a hectic tv schedule like mine I do have to prioritise and make sacrifices.
and out of the shows I am binging on, I can only handle between 2-3 shows. the others I have to put on the backburner. So all in all, it's pretty stressful, but somehow I manage.
To answer your question :P , I don't watch Game of Thrones. I read the first book and kind of hated it. Thought the story was really good, but was very poorly written ("executed" may be the more appropriate word rather than "written").
I tried watching the show, and while it did fix some of the problems I had with the book, it didn't fix enough of them and it added in a few other problems (such as adaptation (for some reason I haven't yet identified, I don't like TV adaptations nearly as much as original content) and gratuity for gratuity's sake (when gratuity is included in a show because the plot needs it, it's a fine tool, but when gratuity is added just because the writer knows that gratuity attracts an audience (which is made painfully obvious whenever the gratuity has nothing to do with the plot), it just comes off to me as a gimmick and/or a lack of confidence in what you've written)). So, yeah, that show is not for me (though I do still occasionally read summaries of the later books since, like I said, the story itself is good, it's the execution that I don't find enjoyable, and you don't have to put up with nearly as much of the poor execution in chapter summaries).

I wouldn't call myself an addict; just a TV watching addict. I've never been the type to search fan sites and official sites and be part of fan clubs and message boards (not even when I was younger and it was music alone. Now it's both). Although much of my Twitter feed consists of TV news writers and sites (TVLine, Wetpaint, TVGuide, Watch With Kristin team, and of course this place). So there's that :)

Southland Bones Sherlock Alphas Dowton Abby Elementary I'm sure i have forgotten some.i'll add on if i recall.
Should I include Cable TV shows??, because if I should, then it would be 9.
Arrow American Horror Story Being Human (US) Beauty and The Beast Dallas Supernatural Boardwalk Empire Person Of Interest Spartacus and I'll probably start watching Chicago Fire.
And why??, well, except for supernatural which I still watching just as a custom, I like the shows, the stories they tell.
I said 16-20 though it's probably more. I have dropped CSI NY, CSI, New Girl and 2 Broke Girls for the time being and I've just started Castle. Almost caught up on Hawaii 5-0. Current shows that I watch live :
I said 16-20 only counting shows that I'm caught up on and watch more or less live.
Current shows that I watch that I'm caught up on: Bones, Big Bang Theory, Hart of Dixie, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Beauty and the Beast, Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Nikita, Pretty Little Liars, Lying Game, Teen Wolf, Being Human, Baby Daddy, Bunheads, Secret Life and Saving Hope.
Shows I used to watch that were cancelled in the last 2 years: Ringer, Secret Circle, CSI Miami, The Finder, One Tree Hill, Life Unexpected, Hellcats (never actually finished it), Smallville, The Cape. I also watched Buffy and Angel within the last 2 years.
I used to watch and plan to catch up on: CSI NY, CSI, New Girl, Melissa and Joey, 90210, Hellcats and 2 Broke Girls . I'm on season 2 of Castle, How I met your mother and Hawaii 5-0.
Shows I want to watch (living and dead =P): firefly, veronica mars, once upon a time and fringe.
Okay so writing that out looks like I'm a TV addict and reading the comments, I'm not alone :D
Summer and winter shows, but there are also shows I still miss :( (Chuck, Being Erica(miss this tv serie and Chuck the most!), Charmed, McLeod's daughters, Lie to me, No ordinary family, Ghost Whisperer), I didn't calculate them in, but still watch them from time to time.
Monday: Hawaii Five 0, NCIS LA, Switched at Birth Tuesday: Hart of Dixie, Emily Owens, Covert Affairs, New Girl, White Collar, Touch Wednesday: Arrow Thursday: Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, Burn Notice Friday: Fringe!! Saturday: Suprissingly no shows :O Sunday: The Mentalist, Once Upon a Time, Leverage
When there's nothing to watch I like to watch or see on the background; The Listener, Scrubs, The Good Wife.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

150? really? currently? or all?
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question :P , I don't watch Game of Thrones. I read the first book and kind of hated it. Thought the story was really good, but was very poorly written ("executed" may be the more appropriate word rather than "written").
ReplyDeleteI tried watching the show, and while it did fix some of the problems I had with the book, it didn't fix enough of them and it added in a few other problems (such as adaptation (for some reason I haven't yet identified, I don't like TV adaptations nearly as much as original content) and gratuity for gratuity's sake (when gratuity is included in a show because the plot needs it, it's a fine tool, but when gratuity is added just because the writer knows that gratuity attracts an audience (which is made painfully obvious whenever the gratuity has nothing to do with the plot), it just comes off to me as a gimmick and/or a lack of confidence in what you've written)).

ReplyDeleteCharlie's Angels was actually quite good, it's a shame it was cancelled and Pan Am was good for the first episodes but then got boring.
ReplyDeleteok thanks:))
