Sons of Anarchy sports an array of rough, tough and gruff characters, and this soundtrack collection from the FX show offers an equally diverse array of covers sprinkled with original tracks.
Jane's Addiction kick off Songs of Anarchy : Vol. 2 with a sprawling rendition of the Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil, while house band the Forest Rangers handle the majority of the tracks, including Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground, Iggy Pop's The Passenger and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Travelin' Band.
Joshua James' lively Coal War and Noah Gunderson's haunting, earnest Family also appear among the originals, but Songs of Anarchy : Volume 2 really shines with its rustic, Western covers.
Songs of Anarchy : Volume 2 will be released November 19th.
You can listen to the album right below (yes, it's perfectly legal, it's embedded on Rolling Stone) :
I also advise you to purchase the first installment of Songs of Anarchy. It is just darn great music, this show has one hell of a soundtrack.
