POLL : What did you think of Revolution - The Children's Crusade?

  1. I am having real problems with Revolution these days. I love the plot, the mystery, the sword fighting. Especially the sword fighting. However I have yet to find a character I can root for without question. The closest I can come is Grace (who hasn't been in for very long), Nora, and sometimes Aaron. Quite frankly I think this show would be a lot better if they killed off every one of the Mattheson's (like Terra Nova before it) and started over with whoever is left. They don't need these characters for the plot and surely they could find someone who I can empathize with and be invested in. Just like I don't understand how their plastic water bottles and clothing have stayed so remarkably in shape these past 15 years, I also don't know why every single week they meet up with a psycho. Surely some people have survived psychologically scarred but still functioning. It's a bad sign when every week I root for the 2 main characters to be shot or unconscious.

The things I adore most about Kripke (fast moving story, lots of answers with new questions, a travel theme so there's always new people, a well-developed quest/mytharc to drive the season) I adore about this show. However with Supernatural Kripke also gave me characters I was instantly intrigued by. Heroes I wanted to win and rooted for right from the start. I'm not sure which would be worse right now - the psychos or the "heroes" - in charge. They both suck out loud. I'm used to being Kripked. It usually means a twist that knocks me flat and has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation even as I'm cursing his name. This time the Kripke is characters I'd rather take out than go one more step of the journey with. That is not the fun way to be Kripked!

Only got an OK from me this time. And that's only because there was a lot more Rachel and her back story. The real plot of the show finally moved forward today. The whole Lost Boys part was a complete waste of time and dragged down the rest of the story. Its a sad commentary on a show when every time they want back to the Lost Boy story line I kept thinking how much the big kid looked like Hot Pie from Game of Thrones. I just kept hearing over and over again: "I kicked him in the balls and kept kicking him until he was dead!"

  3. I like Miles - he started the militia with best intentions but it grew out of his control until he "deserted". He's also more practical than the rest of the cast who make severely stupid decisions almost every episode.

  4. What the show is doing is trying to portray the lifestyles of a range of people, and tonight it was the turn of a bunch of abandoned kinds. Now when you think of a bunch of abandoned kids, you should be sympathetic and sorrowful, but the odd thing is I couldn't have cared less about them, even with the (perceived) guilt Miles felt. I don't know why, the whole approach was miles away from hitting any sort of sensitive nerve with me. Still, we saw the furthest back flashback yet, along with a government connection. That's the standout for me this week

  5. Totally agree. Charlie isn't Dean. And not only because she's a girl. I like Miles and Rachel. Also Captain Neville (but I'm just a little biased because I'm a huge Breaking Bad's fan). There's a conflict while I'm watching Revolution: I want it to be good because I'm Kripked and I wish him to be always in a Supernatural's shape. Too much affection for the man, I guess :)

  11. IDK, Charlie is gaining something to me... Miles is kinda meh, but whatever. The supporting characters are making it work for me now. Elizabeth Mitchell was outstanding as usual, and Giancarlo Esposito should NEVER be killed off this show...He's too damn valuable. lol
