It was a boring episode to be completely honest. Much like last season's flashback episode, it didn't add much to the show as a whole and it felt like filler. The episode was too clustered with so many parallel storylines. I did like the Victoria scenes, her backstory was quite interesting and it actually managed to add so many layers to her character. Besides, it's always nice to see Adrienne Barbeau, who still looks great and did a wonderful job. I hope she comes back as I liked the character. I have to admit it was kind of fun to see Ashley's not so perfect beginnings .
The episode was fairly meh all around. I did like the ending between Aiden and Emily though. Anyone who can make her smile like that I'm perfectly okay with.
Uninteresting, boring and unbelievable. Doesn't really make sense when we remember Emily and Ashley's friendship from the beginning of season 1. I really really love season 2 but this episode was easily the worst in the history of the show.
I've got to agree with what everyone has said. This episode definitely felt like a filler episode. It didn't move the story forward that much and it was pretty boring. Sure they wanted to give us some background information regarding some of the new players but surely they could have just had someone mention it briefly in a few words. I wasn't impressed. Hopefully next week picks up. And I'm probably in the minority, but I don't care to much for the story between Aiden and Emily, I'm glad that she can have a little happiness, but I just want the story to move along with her revenge plot.
definitly liked this episode better than the flashback episode from last season, but I do hope they get back to the exciting stuff. Did anyone else notice that Emily's tattoo in this episode was different from the one in the pilot?
The episode was some what boring but i liked it in a way cz now i know how Aiden and Emily met,how they fell in love.I also liked Victoria's story, now i know where she gets all her evilness from ;)
But what i loved about this whole episode again was Aiden and Emily's story and specially the ending was PERFECT,I'm totally in love with them. The chemistry is Crazy. It makes you wonder if Emily and Barry are infact dating in real life and not Joshua and Emily."You better not disappear on me again".
I LOVE Aiden! He sure as hell has the Bond mojo down - frankly he'd make a better Bond than Daniel Craig. :D He's tall, he's hot, he knows Ems well enough and still tries to protect her even from herself. Ems/Aidan are definitely my new favourite Revengers couple. :D
I liked it. Not the most awesome episode ever, but I have a thing for this almost full flashback episodes. It was rather nuanced as a whole, very low key, which I welcomed after the action packed last ones. It gave a rather needed introspective on new and old characters alike and teased us about the overall arc.
Not a needed episode in the strict sense, but I found it a compelling hour of television, and a safe way to calm things down without halting the present day happenings.
I liked this flashback episode better than the first season flash back ep (or at least my memory of my reaction to that ep.) It worked for me that they used Nolan's flashback to set up story for him. (I haven't been too happy with his story so far this season.) Not happy about the declaration that Jack is not too bright. That is a really irritating element of season two for me. so we saw how Amanda met Ashley but we really didn't see how they met. This relationship has felt like a yoyo relationship from the beginning and this ep didn't do anything to help that. (I've never been able to figure out why Ashley was suddenly Emily's enemy.) Adrienne Barbeau is great.
I just couldn't trust that it's okay for her to trust Aiden. I watched that scene and all I could think was...'He's going to betray her. I don't want him to betray her."
I dont get why people still doubt him.I mean even the first time when he left her,was because he thought it was too dangerouse from Emily to be with her on that mission, its not like he betrayed her. And like betray her in what way?If you're talking about that he doesnt love Emily and his motives are something else than trust me he would have blown Emily's cover already if that were the case, there's nothing he doesn't know about her,he doesnt have to work so hard to make her forgive him and take him back. I think the reason people cant trust Aiden is because whom ever Emily has trusted has betrayed her or ended up hurting her in one way or another, but with Aiden its different, you can see that he genuiny loves her and cares for her. And trust me she is Emily Thorne, she knows whom to trust and whom not.
He's betrayed her trust before....which is not to say he's done something like...'gone to work for her enemies.'
When he left her behind with Takada was a betrayal. Regardless of his motives he betrayed her. She felt betrayed, that's why it took so long (and he had to work so hard) to get her to trust him again over the past few episodes.
When the silver haired guy was killed he slipped something (was it the phone) off his body. Again, his motives were intended to help her but he betrayed her trust again...by telling a lie of omission.
When she pulled that box out...the box of secrets and memories that she cherishes above EVERYTHING else in her life...my first thought was that he'd take something from that box and use it to help her with her mission. Showing someone else anything from that box would be a betrayal of the trust she's placing in him by showing her the contents of that box.
Basically, that's why *I* can't trust him. I can't speak for anyone else.
For me betrayel is something that you do something intentionally to hurt someone's trust who loves you and yet feel proud of it.He left her behind for her own safety, for me that is no way near betraying. Even the real meaning of betray proves what Aiden did was not betrayel. "Be disloyal to someone by acting in the interests of an enemy."
Ever since she said "dont disappear on me again", i think either Aiden will die or he will disappear again. I don't want it to happen but i reckon it will. :(
True. But betraying trust, at least for me, is more of a grey area.
If you tell someone something in confidence (say, that the boyfriend that you love beat you up) it would be in your best interest for that person go to the police and get that boyfriend arrested. But a lot of people would think twice before telling that person another important secret.
i understand why some would take it as filler but i thought it was enjoyable, except for the porter boys part. I am not one to echo "hates" on characters or anything, but seriously, they add nothing to the show. Just make them go out with a bang so that Emily is very affected by Jack's death. So many possibilities. But they need to dare, they stall the show! Also, I am sold on Aiden and Emily. I think I still prefer her with Daniel, but Aiden is good as well. As long as it is not Jack freaking Porter
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I didn't mind seeing Victoria burn her mother.. but the early flashbacks were fairly lame. Didn't even watch the Jack Porter bar scenes.. snooze.
ReplyDeleteThe Emily storyline was the only one I found interesting.

Poor Victoria!!
ReplyDeletePretty boring which is a rare thing for Revenge

I am so happy right now to be honest :D
I liked the backstory being filled in. I liked how they tied everyone together and provided answers on how things started, etc.
