We've updated the description with a little more info.

Thanks to The Spoiler Fairy for sending us the following..

Tamara is described as African American, Late 20s to mid 30s.

She's beautiful (<-- oh, there's that word again!), artistic, relaxed, friendly, charming and smart. She's also ambitious, fearless and a born leader, and she won't stop until she gets what she wants. Source: SpoilerTV

  1. Good lord how many characters are they going to keep throwing at us? When do they say enough?

  2. SHOCKING. THEY DIDN'T DESCRIBE HER AS BEAUTIFUL. I THINK THIS IS A HISTORIC MOMENT. OH MY GOD.

  3. I know right?Helena,Katerina,Gedhart,Tamara in addition to Aurora,Hook,Mulan.

  4. Yeah, plus the characters that are already established but we haven't seen much of,i.e. Pinocchio,Neal (Bea) and i know i'm missing someone else? Anyway...the cast is getting bigger than Grey's Anatomy!

  5. This is quite a lot! I won't mind if they're killing off others, putting some a side, and using these characters as introductory characters for bigger arcs in later seasons, but boy I thought Lost had a lot and these seems like it's gonna surpass it! -But I am glad for an African American actress.

Looking up Tamara, the name is from Biblical (Hebrew) Tamar and means Palm Tree (symbolically important as a fruitful tree)

There is also an Armenian Folk Tale of a princess Tamar who was imprisoned on an Island (her love interests drowns trying to save her)

Additionally, also according to wikipedia, Tamara was also the name of a Medieval Queen of Georgia, who had a Russian husband.

But honestly I have no idea who or what this character will be, but it would be nice if they flesh out King Arthur stuff since they introduced it...

  6. And a very bad historic moment too. They describe all the Caucasian females as beautiful and don't do it for an African-American? If they did this because people were complaining about it, they sure chose a terrible time. Either way, I call it racism.

  7. "THEY DIDN'T DESCRIBE HER AS BEAUTIFUL"
Oops, you spoke too soon...! (read the updated description when it's posted)

  8. Well yes. You win one, you lose one. Haha.

  9. These all sound interesting, but really, this is getting crazy! I'm sure they will work it like last season where they are introduced then taking a back seat like they did last year with Red,granny and Pinocchio.

Have they killed anyone off a main character yet? Not that i remember, and could they actually kill of a main character?Nah,don't think so.....

I would love King Arthur,ha,sure lets add more! ;)

  10. My question is: what do they consider recurring to be? Because if it means a two episode arc, I don't see any problems, mostly cause I think many characters will be killed off at some point or will simply disappear, like they did in S1 (the mirror and Abgail, for instance).

  11. Tamara will be recurring in season 2, with the possibility of recurring in season 3, too.

  12. SERIOUSLY?! "If they did this because people were complaining about it, I call it racism". Stop looking for something that isn't there, what's the point? Geez, some people...

  13. The Mirror and Abgail were minor parts at best, tho the mirror might make a return if they plan on more flashbacks. I don't know what their definition of recurring is,more than once then yes.

  14. Stop with all the new characters! Hook, Aurora, Mulan, Neal, not to mention the two recurring males that are coming up soon. Its too much.

I care more about the recurring characters we had in season 1: Cinderella, Thomas, Abigail, Frederick, Sidney, etc.

  15. I hope this means they're finally going into African and Caribbean fairy tales now. A black Sir Lancelot was ridiculous and just highlighted that they need to go beyond the standard European tales.

  16. Or maybe they think all african american woman are beautiful so no need to ask for it in the casting. Ever think about that Ms. Negative?

  17. A recurring character is a character with about 5 or more episodes. A recurring guest star has anything from 2 episodes or more.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Didn't the casting call say "recurring guest role", and not "recurring role"? That's a big difference SpoilerTV...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes but if you notice these casting calls (for OUaT) never list what they are going to be,whether it will be as a guest star or recurring.

  20. Hm, is it just me or her character is contradicting herself? supposedly "relaxed" but at the same time "won't stop until gets what she wants"? and "ambitious, born leader"? er, that doesn't sound like relaxed to me at all!

Perhaps they are finally bringing Aladdin, that would be cool! Does anyone know if Giancarlo Esposito is coming back any time soon?

Anyway, just wanted to say that I don't mind that they are looking for yet another character - I see it as an evidence that the writers have a clear plan for what's to come and that they are preparing some good stories to tell. I'm hoping there will be more FTL [flashback] stories as I really missed them. To me, the great thing about OUaT was always that they are adapting all the fairy tale stories and adding this special something, this twist and "colour" to the plot. But recently they focused on everything else but that, so I'm really hoping that hiring all those new people means they will show us more of FTL! To be honest, I'm not that keen on the development of present characters and actions, I just want more of those clever fairy tale versions!

  21. Just a thought:
    (A)nastasia = (A)urora
    (M)agnolia = (M)ulan
    Now
    (T)amara = (T)iana
Also, in my opinion the description is very tied to her. We will see :P

  22. Graham..? Or have you forgotten already.. I sure haven't!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Actually i did,and i don't know how i could? Ha! He sure is something else! :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Graham was only a recurring guest star.

  25. The original casting calls that gets sent out to agencies does (of those I've seen), but the spoiler and news sites just cut them out for some stupid reason :/

    ReplyDelete
  26. @twitter-25039621:disqus The reason is NOT stupid. Sites are NOT allowed to repost them in full.

  27. This does sound exactly like Tiana. So does that mean we will get 'Ray' too? Maybe he'll be Jiminy's buddy! Ok, just kidding. Princess and the Frog is one of the best disney movies ever! Anything with Jazz and an excess of cold blooded animals is my alley.

  28. I didn't know that, so thanks for telling me. Now I know! :)
