Synopsis : Based on the 1980 eponymous film by William Lustig, Maniac follows Frank Zito (Elijah Wood), a mentally disturbed man living with his mother. When she dies, this lonely individual starts a killing spree, murdering innocent young women by scalping them. But when he meets and befriends Anna (Nora Arnezeder), an artist opening an art exhibit, he struggles to find what he really wants from her : a new trophy or love.

Release date : It premièred at Cannes on May 26, 2012. It will be released in theaters on January 2, 2013 in France, the following day in Germany, and I'm sure very soon in many other countries.
