Cancelled Shows
Thanks to LockeUp for the heads up.
I've been a bit down on this season compared to the previous ones but this has me excited to let it play out.
ReplyDeleteMe too - I haven't understood the love for s4, I really haven't enjoyed it that much and only moderately look forward to it where as for the last 3 years I'd adored it and couldn't wait for the next episode. This season's Fringe is not the Fringe I've grown to love :( I hope the end makes up for it.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Although I don't mind the Observer storyline I was a bit disappointed that they veered so far away from the procedural aspect of the show.
ReplyDeleteIf John Noble (!) says so...
ReplyDeleteIt does feel more like a Fringe spin-off series rather than an actual season of the show. That said, I am enjoying it, and I always preferred the mytharc stories over the procedural episodes.
ReplyDeleteI think the amber universe has some really great concepts in it, and besides the theme of existentialism/death, it's hard to see where it's going (So I generally agree it's not my favorite season story wise). It's been very much Peter trying to get back those things he thought he lost and come to an acceptance of sorts, but now it seems he is really being tested! -But I am looking forward to finale and seeing what it does to the series as a whole!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the myth and really character driven episodes too, which is why I do really like season 5, but it's been very bread-crummy story wise and hasn't yet really explained "why" this journey is needed and how it relates to everything else that came before.
ReplyDeleteahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! So many mixed feelings!! Yay finale. Boo its almost over. YAY its mindblowing in John's eyes which means its got to be AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteI really do like the myth as well but I really thought it was at it's peak and flowed better with the MotW style of writing. But I agree, I think they need to start getting to the point of the journey.
ReplyDeleteI am very much looking forward to the finale. Season 5 started slow but the last episodes have been very good
ReplyDeleteI totally here these last 2 posts - but have faith because I think all of this is pertinent to the original timeline...I've just felt it in my bones. I just really hope it's not a totally crappy reset or like dream type of reveal but from John Noble's tweet I have a feeling that they're going to tie this all together very well. I have a feeling it was very important to bring the observer child back to explain how he got where he was when they first found him and how Peter is technically speaking the first Observer. I think it's very important that we haven't found out who created the tech (I am obviously guessing Bell created it) and this all goes back to the stuff that girl said when she was tripping on salvia about the war that was coming. Season 4 was def a total random spin on the story once Peter just came back but everyone isn't the original characters again so I think something has to give at the end of the day. We'll see...
