Awww. She does look pretty cool in the still though.
In all fairness, I have learnt to accept the domino mask as a superhero convention and don't really question it anymore, like using less saturated colors and blacks for the costumes in live adaptations. (for one, how is a leather purple battle thong stealthy? So I'm on the boat that black is the color of subtlety)
I've come to accept it myself but I can't help but be a little disappointed in some of the program's wardrobe choices after the show's writers and producers consistently said that they were going for a more realistic take on these characters.
Yay! Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress. In the comics she had a friendly rivalry with Dinah Lance (Black Canary) I'll watch this episode for the fun of seeing them challenging to each other and to see how the CW develops this cool character.
Forgive my comic book ignorance since I have no idea who this character is, but Huntress looks like a cross between pre-Bale Catwoman and the chick from the T-Mobile ads.
If no one can take one look at Superman and realize that its Clark Kent without the glasses in all of comic history, then I really don't have a problem with a tiny mask protecting the Huntress's identity.
Arrow's painted mask is still stupid as hell, though.
Yeah, I find that one ridiculous. With a real mask, you can put it off quickly. When Oliver had to escape a building, going into his own coming back party. It was mere 10 or 20 seconds after he went in as Green Arrow. How could someone wipe off that green makeup so quickly. It looks like a stiff makeup.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
How could someone really believe a tiny little eye mask like that could successfully conceal anyone's identity?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I have no clue who she is, but then again, I don't really remember who the actress is!
ReplyDeleteI know!
ReplyDeleteif they can believe without wearing glasses and changing hairstyle can conceal superman's identity... then this one is much better!
The Huntress is played by a relative newcomer by the name of Jessica De Gouw.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least the show doesn't seem to be putting that band of green makeup across Oliver's eyes when he's in his Arrow getup anymore.
ReplyDeleteAwww. She does look pretty cool in the still though.

ReplyDeleteas in birds of prey huntress? if that's the case awesome. I'm waiting patiently for black canary to make an appearance
ReplyDeleteHuntress is the daughter of Batman and Catwoman.
ReplyDeleteI meant the actress. And I think this Huntress is based on Helena Bertinelli instead of Wayne, with the catholic background and imaginery.
ReplyDeleteaww she uses her little cross-bow that reminds us an arc somehow, that's cute!!

ReplyDeleteWell, glasses and a different hairstyle have always worked for superman ;)
ReplyDeletehaha... I agree. For the realistic take they are trying to do with the show, there seems to be a lot of costumes for no real reason... :D
