  4. I felt like over the last two seasons Stefan got less stuffy and sanctimonious, did I imagine that?

  5. I know Damon will never leave (and most viewers won't want him to, of course) but his decision to leave makes a lot of sense and, considering how charged and intimate his encounters with Elena have been since the transition, Damon's decision to skedaddle is very respectful of his brother and his relationship with Elena. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Stefan sees it that way.

  6. Not really. He went from stuffy and sanctimonious to ripper to guilt-riddled addict to oddly naive and frequently blinded by sentimentality.

  7. Damon is not leaving. Elena won't let him.

She choose Stefan, true. But she also loves Damon and she is not ready to give him up.

  8. Well she should... she made a choice... she needs to leave with it.... she cant have Stefan as boyfriend and Damon as friends cuz it hurts him to be there and watch them be all cheesy... she should know that and let him go... didnt she say she let him go???

  9. It definitely seems like he's back to his season 1-2 self, not a fan of this Stefan!

  10. I think they are trying to hit reset on a number of things, starting fresh or something, like the new title sequence, maybe Stefan's characterization is part of that?

  11. Yes, Damon expresses it snarkily but I think that's his way of protecting himself (heart and reputation I think). He doesn't want Stefan to know he accepting his log graciously. Just like, last week, he didn't want anyone to know how much he misses Alaric. Heaven forbid anyone think kindly of him. Damon is a great big ole snarky softy.

Honestly, I could care less about who Delena or Stefana (um, I think I got that last one wrong) but Damon is such an interesting funny complex character in his own right that I keep watching, despite occasional issues. I also love Caroline and Caroline and Tyler.

  12. I'd have to agree that the strength of TVD are the characters and not really the plotting. It's magnetic characters like Damon and Caroline, among others, that keep the show going.

  13. True, she made a choice. But she was a human then. Now she is a vampire. Everything changed. Especially after he helped her in ep 2, the relationship between them got more intense.

Besides: She loves him. You can't just stop loving someone if you feel like it.

The reason she can't be (just) friends with Damon is, that she loves him. She can try. But it will always be between them.

Yes, she loves Stefan. And she knows what happened 1864. That is why she tries to keep distance to Damon. So the brothers won't fight again.

I don't think, that she will choose Damon over Stefan. But she loves them both and that makes it so damn hard.

  14. I know a lot of people say that Damon won't leave, but i've also heard a lot of speculation that he might leave for one episode or something (like they did with Klaus in season 3 but shorter)
