-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean Tuesday sweep for CBS with its combination of NCIS (11.8 rating/18 share), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (10.1/15) and Vegas (7.3/12). At this point, Vegas has settled in at levels close to year-ago occupant Unforgettable (which will be returning for season two next summer).
Second overall was vastly improved NBC, which should have no problem dominating the evening among adults 18-49. A two-hour edition of The Voice was on the map with a 7.4/11 from 8-10 p.m., peaking at an 8.0/12 at 9:30 p.m. Comparably, this beat year-ago occupant The Biggest Loser (4.3/ 7 on 11/02/11) by a significant 72 percent. And the 9 p.m. hour (7.9/12) was up significantly from regularly scheduled sitcoms Go On and The New Normal. At 10 p.m. on NBC was a special news report on Hurricane Sandy at a second-place 5.6/10 in the overnights.
ABC opened the evening with the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show at a second-place 9.1/14 in the 8 p.m. hour. But the ample lead-in support was wasted on relocated sitcoms Happy Endings (#3: 3.8/ 6) and The B____ in Apartment 23 (#3: 2.6/ 4) from 9-10 p.m. (which did not have to face The Voice on NBC last week). A special edition of 20/20 on Hurricane Sandy at 10 p.m. finished third at 10 p.m. with a 3.8/ 6.
Fox was lacking in three of the four half-hours last night, while sophomore New Girl remained on the noticeable year-to-year downside. Raising Hope opened with a fourth-place 2.8/ 4 at 8 p.m., followed by recent entry Ben and Kate at a 2.2/ 3 at 8:30 p.m. (#4). Although New Girl perked up to a 3.6/ 5 at 9 p.m., compared to one year earlier that was down by 29 percent (versus a 5.1/ 8 on 11/02/11). Freshman The Mindy Project, which was renewed for an additional 11 episodes, slipped to a mere 2.4/ 4 at 9:30 p.m.
Over at The CW was the low-rated combination of Hart of Dixie (#5: 1.4/ 2) and week three of Emily Owens, M.D. (#5: 1.1/ 2), which was equal to one week earlier.
