Even though it was a pretty quiet episode I think it might have been the best of S3 so far.
Gillian has always been crazy and creepy and I knew her relationship with that man was going to be weird but I really didn't expect her to kill him! I am glad she seems to have finally accepted Jimmy's death though.
Richard continues to be my favourite character, his scenes with Julia and young Tommy are delightful. I really do hope he gets some happiness and I hope he finally goes to see his sister as its been hinted at for a while.
Nucky and Eli's relationship continues to be messed up but Nucky acknowledging Eli at the end goes some way to fixing it all. I really liked all their scenes this week. Also Margaret's confession to her sister in law about the state of her marriage was so heartbreaking and awkward.
Gyp is crazy which means surely he has to be dead come season finale time?
I wondered if Gillian was going to kill Jimmy 2.0 to more officially get the Commodore's inheritance, but it's nice that she had a cathartic moment and is moving on. Still one helluva twisted route to get there! XD
Richard hopefully will find his photo album moment if not with this girl... someone else soon.
Gyp is just cuckoo for cocoa puffs. Seriously! I thought Al Capone was short-tempered and dangerous, but Gyp makes Capone look like a choir boy!
The end second half of this season could be very intense and violent. We should see Capone start to establish more of a personal power base in Johnny Torrio's territory as he moves against O'Bannion's gang. If Rosetti starts to move against Nucky and Rothstein aggressively with backing of the boss.... YOWZA. There will be blood!
This episode has been my favorite so far, ever. I absolutely agree with Lou. Violence and guns were not seen here, but this was a whole hour dedicated to the character's deep feelings and frustrations, what's really going on inside their hearts. And come on, the music was just perfect. Awesome job.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
