30 Oct 2012

With the recent announcement of a new Star Wars film I thought we'd have a poll to see what people think.

  1. Isn't this a yes or no question? (my answer is NO, by the way)

  2. Hmm, something odd happening with the poll.

    Let me try refreshing it.

..the star wars movie cover all possible sitting or scene began when the problem and the way it was resolve (4-5-6) then return to the past when how the problem was created or form (1-2-3)..unless the writers had a very compelling or good script with a truth full storyline may be IF NOT DONT MESSING AROUND

  5. Sure! I love Star Wars and think there are some really good stories in Expanded Universes that would be neat to see on the big screen! :D (However I am opposed to the 3D aspect that I know will come with The Mouse take over)

  6. No what?

The last 3 wern't really good imo and the story is complete. Why add more.

  7. Absolutely not, the francise has had it's day.

  8. Georges lukas created episode 4-5-6 first because he knew he couldn't do 1-2-3 with the kind of technology he had at his disposal at the time...and for the record I'm against a new trilogy, especially if he's not the one doing it.

  9. Oh HELL NO!

The last 4 (including Jedi) have all been terrible. I can't imagine Episode VII would be any better especially with Lucas at the helm. If the series were turned over to someone with artistic integrity it would at least have a small chance of improving. Lucas' last 3 have been little more than watered-down money grabs.

Personally I think Lucas hsould be barred from touching film ever again and that includes his past works. We do not need anymore versions of his past projects. No ultimate 3D collections or new re-edited versions .... When does one man have enough money to stop screwing up his legacy?

Stop the madness George! Retire please.

  10. I'm okay with yes given that Lucas isn't allowed to write the script or direct it--only story creation, or just use the books--and only 5% of the movie can be CGI. If they can't commit to those things, leave off.

  11. No. I haven't even watched the last one, Revenge of the Sith, because the two prior to it bored me so badly. That said, if people want it, they can make them. I just won't be one of the millions watching.

  12. I embarked upon the same rant, it was pointed out to me that if there are other movies Lucas likely won't be writing or directing. Also it does appear, judging from the Hollywood Reporter article that he may be retiring. At least he's handed over the running of Lucasfilm.

  13. I'm going with unsure =P. Personally I enjoyed the newer trilogy because it was visually more appealing than the older movies and I liked the story with Anakin and Padme. Overall wouldn't say I'm a hard core fan, enjoyed the movies, I have seen Episode I-III at least twice each. I'm unsure because I don't know where they would go in terms of characters... all the actors are older and they would need to have some of them in the movie for it to be successful.

  15. Loved the originals, greatly enjoyed the prequels, and I am sure I will be the same with the new ones.

  16. I don't WANT one, but I hate to admit that if they actually made one, I'd watch it...

  17. If Lucas is involved then no, absolutely not. If Disney got someone interesting and with talent in to do the movies then I would definitely be intrigued.

  18. Im ok with it as long as it tells a different story. The Skywalker Saga has been told. If they are going to do another saga Im all for more lightsaber duels, less democratic psychobabble. Im ok with it being set in the same universe. It has so much potential and I am actually really excited to see what they do with new technology and effects. Also as bad as the prequel series was (I enjoyed some moments tbh) A new hope, empire and jedi are and will always be solid films.

  19. I wonder what Christopher Nolan could do with this franchise.

  20. I'm sure a Lucas-less Star Wars movie could at least remove the memory of the prequels!

It'll re-energise the franchise, a lot of people working together, instead of Lucas surrounding by "yes men".

  22. I love all things in the Star Wars genre. the Cartoons are great but live action would be better!

  23. Now I know what his artistic integrity is worth : 4 Billion $
