The Radio Times has confirmed that the episode will be called 'The Dark Tower'
Gwen becomes the traditional damsel in distress when she is snatched from Camelot and locked in a dark tower, so Arthur mounts his trusty steed and sets out to rescue his bride, accompanied by Merlin and his loyal knights. However, her kidnapper is none other than Morgana, who has imprisoned the queen in a place that haunts the dreams of men. Before them lays a landscape riddled with hidden dangers, perilous obstacles and magical beings - but surely, the sorceress wouldn't have made it quite that easy?

Can't wait for the Smirkgana and Queen Gwen scenes, I'm guessing this will be their first meeting since the end of last season since Morgana has been held captive for most of the time in between.
ReplyDeleteI hear "damsel in distress" and my interest goes right out of the window. Wasn't S4 martyr!Gwen and wounded-doe!Gwen enough? Now we get more damsel-in-distress!Gwen? How many times has she been kidnapped already? Doesn't it get pretty old?
ReplyDeletedont be discouraged, it sounds like the greater element of the episode will be the journey there and the trials along the way, and getting Gwen will simply be an after thought. At least thats what i took from this...

ReplyDeleteYES! Hallelujah! Queen Guinevere scenes I have been waiting! First couple episodes have been a bit dull, 'horse play' between Arthur and Merlin is so 5 years ago let their friendship develop. FINALLY a King and Queen episode. Let's hope it's amazing, sounds really good so far!
ReplyDeleteLooks like this is going to be the best episode to date. I was promised darker and more exciting. Yet all i've seen is stupid merlin/arthur moments. i'm sooo annoyed especially in 5x03 it was merlin/arthur scenes then more and more i actually switched off the TV because merlin/arthur slapstick comedy sucks, it really sucks! I desperately want more Mordred, Guinevere, Morgana, Emryst!! Let's get all LEGEND now!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely an episode to watch. I had high hopes for this season but after the Death of Song of Uther Pendragon where it's literally just boring scenes of Merlin and Arthur walking round the castle. I'm estastic for it to finally get good! Guess they are saving the best ad disqus_yYYn89kwdD I completely agree Arthurand Guinevere are one of the best things about Merlin. Now that they are King and Queen it should be epic; if they be sure to focus on them and their roles.
