“Kids the summer 2012 was the summer of love.” Every one of the couples were as happy as can be which means that there’s no stories to be told so they skip ahead to what’s known as the autumn of break up. Artillery Arthur provides a little less than friendly advice for Barney to get a pre-nup and as he screams at his ex-wife over the phone that he has nothing left to give her, Barney knows what he has to do.
When Quinn walks in for lunch he springs a multipage pre-nup on her but she can pick whether she wants to sign in black or blue. Barney has named, listed, and tried to score visitation rights to her body parts in terms of divorce. Soon Quinn realize that these are the rules of marriage including that her parents should be dead if they want to stay indefinitely, a wake up lap dance, a morning pillow fight, that she pay when she gains weight, and that she get all hair below the neck removed once a week.
And even all the guys agree that he’s crazy for doing it... even though they all attempt to renegotiate their relationships causing one of the three relationships (not Lily and Marshal) to break up the next day.
Robin walks in and starts to conversation about how their men started to complain about them. Lily reveals that when Marvin was first brought home, Marshal threw him really high up towards the ceiling. Which Marshal defends by saying that his brothers and father used to pass him around like a football and Marshal demanded that he not ever throw the baby. Robin and Nick had an argument about two weeks ago when she happened to glance at herself on the TV during sex. She tells the girls that it turns her on which the other two do not agree is normal. Victoria then walks in an tells the girls about the argument they had about Klaus living in their apartment. Ted offered to move Klaus but soon got “Hero’s remorse”. I wonder why Ted would have a problem with Klaus staying with him when he wanders around the apartment completely nude...
Quinn goes back and tells Barney she’s okay with the pre-nup as long as she can have her pre-nup as well which the other three girls helped write. And Arthur asks about the redhead with the baby even though he’s known her for years.
Quinn bargains for Barney’s suits in the divorce which she would sit around “and watch go out of style.” Then Ted and Marshal show up to make sure that he doesn’t sign anything he’ll regret including a shock collar that isn’t around his neck. All the couples start bickering and then Arthur, the man who started all this, interrupts and forces them to talk about their problems with the people they love. Marshal and Lily make up over Marvin. Ted and Victoria make up. Nick and Robin make up once she tells him she’s in love with herself doing the news. And Arthur calls the person he loves the most, his dog Tugboat.
Barney and Quinn go back to writing their pre-nups which now reach Barney’s chest sitting on a table. They agree that is should be simpler and then they get to the root of their problems; they don’t trust each other. They then agree that they shouldn’t get married. Barney tells the guys at the bar that his single life is going to be “lengend... wait for it....”
A Little Ways Down the Road....
“Dary. My wedding is going to be legendary.” And then Robin walks in and takes Barney to lunch as he tells the guys he doesn’t need a pre-nup for her.
