Homeland - Interview with Morena Baccarin

Showtime’s Homeland, developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, has captivated us with its plot, following the steps of an ex-marine turned terrorist dealing with his everyday life with his oblivious family and trying to mislead the CIA from his true intentions: a twisted sense of justifiable retaliation towards his own country.

Winning four Emmy awards made Homeland’s season two one of the most anticipated premieres of the fall of 2012 and it did not disappoint: 2.4 million people tuned in to see what came next.

Brazilian beauty Morena Baccarin, who plays US Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody’s wife Jessica Brody, took some time to answer some of our questions.  Check them out:

Spoiler TV: How did you get the role of Jessica? What interested you in the part?

Morena Baccarin: When I read it I was immediately moved by the story and Jessica's strife. I found the pilot compelling, daring, and heartfelt.

Spoiler TV: Were the sex scenes with Brody as uncomfortable in real life as they were on screen?

Morena Baccarin: The vulnerability portrayed in those scenes are the most difficult moments to act.

Spoiler TV: Is Jessica embracing Brody’s political career? Do you think she’ll get more involved with the elites in Washington or will she keep her distance?

Morena Baccarin: Jessica was surprised by how much she embraced the political life. She's enjoying it. We'll see how long that lasts. And at what cost.

Spoiler TV: Now that Jess knows Brody is a muslim, do you think she’s starting to realize Carrie is not that crazy regarding Brody’s agenda? Will Jess ever find out about it?

Morena Baccarin: She knows very little about Carrie. I think whether or not Carrie is crazy is less of a concern. She's intent on keeping her family together and keeping Brody from lying. And the question she is always faced with is when is it too much? At what point is it not worth fighting for anymore?

Spoiler TV: Any snippets/teasers that you can share with us about your character or show for the upcoming episodes?

Morena Baccarin: We watched Carrie unravelling last season as she was constantly asked to question her judgement about Brody. Let’s just say it's HIS turn.
