    Loving this season....minus the amnesia. So excited Grimm got a 2.0 demo on a Friday on NBC. Woo hoo! This episode looks pretty exciting too. I was wondering when Nick would meet non-direct family Grimms. I bet they are going to be as happy with Nick being friends with Monroe as the Wessen were with Monroe.

    On the flip side, once the wesen community learns of how Nick dispatched this Grimm he'll have gained even more trust and loyalty with them.

    Not sure the refrigerator repair guy's family or the sheep could trust him more. Hopefully whoever put the hit on Monroe for his relationship with Nick will think twice once Nick shows he'll take out any side if he feels they are wrong.

    Ah, so this isn't going to be a nutcase, it's going to be an, um, different line of people with Grimm-like abilities. We knew they existed because of the journal entry in Tarantella. (just turned a friend onto the series by watching season 1 and two over the past weekend) When the Grimm ancestor mentioned meeting a Japanese person on a train who had the same abilities.


    This ep is getting more and more intriguing.

    I'm waiting to hear what the tale of the Reaper heads sounds like after its traveled from Europe back to America via the Wesen grapevine. (anyone else play Telephone when you were a kid? :-)

    I'm not referring to the people that know Nick well but rather the greater wesen community in the area. I'm sure there are many who haven't met Nick and have only heard of him.


    A Grimm taking out another Grimm has to be big news for these people and for those who are still apprehensive about the idea of a Grimm who supposedly works with wesen instead of hunting them, an incident like this could really change some minds and build new allegiances.

    A Grimm is a Grimm though, not only a descendant of brothers Grimm, but a generic term for people with these abilities.

    I agree, the season has been great so far - with the exception of amnesia storyline. I just can't stomach it. ;]

    That's what I was trying to say with "Grimm-like abilities." I was trying to distinguish between between the genetic ability and Nick's family..um...tradition. The pre-information on this episode implies that we'll be seeing what could happen without that sense of 'Cause' that Nick's ancestors seemed to have. Also, would go a bit in *possibly* separating Nick's ancestors from, for example, the guys who gunned down the farmers in the film.


    It's making the universe more interesting to me.

    My best friend is German...first generation American. She was raised on the non-sanitized version of Grimm's tales. When her younger sister had a kid she was surprised that her younger sister refused to read these stories to her kids at bed time. :-) Her younger sister refused to give her children nightmares.

    I'm German too...and believe me, compared to the "Strubbelpeter" (a book in which a girl burns to death after playing with matches, a boy eventually dying of hunger because he doesn't want to eat his soup and another boy getting his thumbs cut off because he can't stop sucking at it), Grimm's tales, even the original ones, are harmless. But who would actually CALL a book that way? I really don't see that being a good selling factor.

    I rather think that Nick himself is different, not so much his family - and certainly not his ancestors. From what they scribbled down in the books, they had a very firm sense of... duty, e.g. the Grimm that travelled to Galapagos with Darwin exterminated an entire islandful of tortoise wessen, even though they were so nice and friendly... Even Nick's aunt and mother pretty much saw him as a freak of nature. ;]

    I'm curious though whether the new Grimm is just very rigid about the old order of not mixing Grimms and wessen, or a kind of mercenary for royals to hire.

    I like that wording... "a very firm sense of duty." For me the difference between the way Nick and his ancestors view the Wessen is kind of analogous to the way American blacks were viewed in this country pre the Civil Rights Movement. A lot of the interpersonal communication was built upon what people thought was *proper* behavior at the time.

    That's how I've been interpreting the writings in the Grimm journals, including the Galapagos entry. And that's what has me to interested in the upcoming episode. I'm curious as to whether this guy is an aberration or if he holds the same view of his mission that Nick's ancestors did or if he's just a nutcase on mission based rampage.



    It hadn't occurred to me that he could be sent by the royals. That's a cool thought. Bring on Friday!
