  1. Best sneak peak we could possibly get!
We got THE HUG! Big reunion!
But man, Dean seems... tougher... tougher than ever.
And whatever has happened to Cass, it really doesn't sound good...
    So excited for new season!!!

  2. Less than two weeks...That's what I'm focusing on.Less than two weeks!

  3. *__* Can't wait

Poor Cass :( I guess he just ''lost it''....he wasn't in the best mental state before leaving to Purgatory. I wonder why Dean didn't take him out no matter what shape Cass was in...unless he couldn't for some reason

    ReplyDelete
  4. Oh noes!!! I need my Cas!!! And at this point, Jared's hair is just ridiculous, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, it didn't take long at all for one of the brothers to begin lying to the other. Some things never change, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  6. AAAAAAWWWW. I cannot wait for the premiere!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wow, it didn't take long for the angst to pile right on haha... must really be Supernatural!

    ReplyDelete
  8. What a strange reunion (except for the hug!). Dean I can understand being in Purgatory for the past year so he's gonna be very on edge, but Sam didn't really seem that shocked to see Dean.

I also don't understand why Sam seems so shocked that Dean was in purgatory. Crowley as much as told Sam that's what would happen when Dean used the weapon against Dick. And why would Sam ask Dean if he's been in purgatory the "whole year"? Does he think Dean got back earlier but just didn't tell him!?

And why does Sam question if Dean saw Castiel's "dead" body? Sam didn't see Dean's dead body but apparently(?) he assumed Dean was dead. I just don't know... so many questions!

I do think Dean is covering up something about Cas by being vague about what happened to him, although, he was in Purgatory for a year so... who knows what that did to him. Anyway, I can't wait for the Purgatory flashbacks to see what happened there!

  9. Muh. I suppose it's just me but I somehow don't get the right vibrations with this sneak peek.
Something just seems off. It doesn't inject the excitement that it should for me.

Dean looks older and more weary... somehow, and Sam seems less convincing and earnest than he usually is.Perhaps it's meant to give that impression.

Maybe I'm just tired! It's time for bed. I'll have another look in the morning.

  10. maybe he (Cass) let go when they were on their way out, and three "people" were to much, so cass let go. (Things got sticky towards the end) maybe maybe.. :(

    ReplyDelete
  11. Maybe Dean left Cas behind because he thought it would be safer for Cas and everyone else, wouldn't Crowley and other angels all be gunning for Cas now?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Agreed alot isnt making sense to me with Sam. It was a fair enough sneak peek but not inticing for me.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Cut your freaking hair Sam, it has gotten to a point that I can't really see his whole face anymore :))) Cut the damn thing will you!!! The whole season seems very unoriginal to me, same stories..one of the boys in hell or now purgatory and the other trying the normal life. That said I will watch this show until the end, it's my duty as a fan :))

    ReplyDelete
  14. Arrow and Supernatural on the same night.."This is going to be so much fun" said in a Cas/Levi voice. lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. maybe its not supposed to just yet, remember what JC said about perception? Then again they write Sam as a plot device these days so he doesnt really need to make sense he just needs to be whatever they need him to be in order to tell the story. In this case they need him to have not known where Dean was, tried to save him or carried on hunting because Dean's story requires it to be so.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yup, Dean is definitely hiding something.

    ReplyDelete
  17. more violent and defensive/evasive doesn't mean tougher. This is a man clearly on edge, he seems like a man who is lying and feeling guilty to me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah they're trying to create a mystery about what happened to Cas in Purgatory with Dean being vague about it and it will eventually all be revealed in the flashbacks. Dean is obviously upset about what happened to Cas.

    ReplyDelete
  19. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

That's pretty much it. I loved everything about this!

    ReplyDelete
  20. yaay hug!!
Yeah, Sam should cut his hair!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thats true but Dean is fighting for his life in Purgatory everyday while Sam is having a romance and being a handyman .Whatever their 'perception' is it better be a good one I think.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You asked a lot of good questions.
Sam would really have had to be very naive not to suspect that Dean was in purgatory. It's the first thing that anyone would have thought of.

The fact that they are going through the tests with the holy water etc, means that this is their first meeting, and Sam doesn't seem all that surprised or particularly emotional in seeing his brother that has just reappeared after a year of silence, nor does Dean in seeing Sam.

Then how would Sam know anything about Castiel's time in Purgatory if he didn't even suspect that Dean was there!
    - Maybe this is all part of the "percepton" thing that Carver mentioned, or maybe it's just careless writing and continuity.

It's clear from Dean's expression that he's keeping things to himself but Sam did so too at the start of season four.
Yep, A very strange beginning and a bit repetitive too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love Jared's hair, it doesn't bother me at all. I am looking forward to the new season and loved this sneak peek. I am not surprised that Sam was surprised about where Dean for a whole year. He probably thought that Dean didn't survive his time in Purgatory and had died. Sam wasn't there and didn't know what happened until Dean came back. I for one doubt that Cas actually died in purgatory and he will be back in the real world at some point later in the season.

So I had to watch this a few times because for me the words weren't lining up with the the video, but I'm still so excited to see this sneak peek!!! I really loved this and I cant wait for the new season!

It doesn't really surprise me that neither of them is particularly surprised to see each other because if there's one thing that's not new for these boys its dying and then coming back to life. It also doesn't seem strange for Sam to ask Dean if he had really been there all year because when he came back from hell he didn't go to Dean right away. I know he didn't have a soul, but he doesn't know what kind of shape Dean would be in now since he's been in Purgatory.
And with the Cas thing, Dean is definitely hiding what happened. He works with a Vamp to get out right? So maybe something Dean did got Cas killed, or Cas sacrificed himself to help Dean escape. idk.
Anyway... I'm super excited and can't wait for October!!!

    Oh, almost forgot. Hug=AWWWW..... =D

    ReplyDelete
  25. Dean I don't like this in you. You're keeping something. And so far it tells me bad things.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I thought he seemed more guilty than upset

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dean was a construction worker and had a insta family while Sam was in hell but Dean said he wasn't happy, I guess that comes under the whole perception thing too. No one force Dean to give up hunting and go live normal not even a promise can force a person to basically live a lie for a year. Some part of Dean wanted to be there and was happy. Same for Sam I guess we've been told he quit hunting and had normal but we were also told he desperately lonely, a mess, it wasn't all sunshine and lollipops, he grieved. All about perception. Not everything is as clean cut as Sam just quit and walked away and had a job and a girlfriend and was happy. It wasnt like that for Dean so why would it be for Sam?

    ReplyDelete
  28. That was my theory about Cas. Something went down just before Dean and that vamp escaped.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well Dean has been fighting for his life for a whole year, constantly looking out for other Purgatory monsters. I'd imagine that is very draining. Doubt he got much sleep either.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't think his mental state will be the reason. Carver said he was supposed to be more sane in Purgatory because of the situation.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1. Love the hug! :D

    2. At this point I don't care anymore what Jared does with his hair. Someday though, Sam's going to have trouble with air resistance while running. :P lol

Maybe he'll stop growing it when he looks like the guy on Chuck's SPN novels. XD

    3. Dean definitely is looking worn down after fighting for survival in Purgatory for a whole year.

    4. I have a feeling whatever happened to Castiel is connected to the vampire that helped Dean escape Purgatory and/or the escape itself. Maybe the vampire did something to him or Cas sacrificed himself. He did do that plenty enough in the past.

Would partly explain why this season Dean would be guilty (for what happened to Cas, and whatever the vampire does on Earth in the future- sounded bad from spoilers).

    5. I won't believe Cas is dead until there is proof! Plus, this is Supernatural. The angel has nine lives, he hasn't used all of them up yet. lol

    6. I wonder if Purgatory affected Cas's powers?- It must have! From the other promo, seeing him by the river, he didn't look like he had powers.

Jeremy Carver and Misha Collins said Cas would be more like his old self in earlier seasons, so that's why I don't think it will be anything mental.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I seriously doubt Purgatory is safe for Cas. Especially with Dean's vague explanation of something having happened to him while he was down in Purgatory.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't see how, even with Crowley's vague words, that Sam would figure out what happened. Crowley didn't say much, just that there was a "kink" with the weapon. That could be 1,000 different things. And they've never encountered a weapon like the one they used to kill Dick before.

I'm sure Sam looked, but can only do so much with the info he got.

Kinda like a math teacher saying: "This is the letter A, now solve the equation its in" without giving me the equation or a method to do so!

    ReplyDelete
  34. My thoughts ...

    - It's obvious Dean is lying about something.

    - Dean had called Sam and told him to meet him there. That's why Sam doesn't seem surprised to see him.

    - Either Sam investigated Purgatory but something or someone led him to believe that Dean wasn't there, or Sam is lying too. He knew Dean was in Purgatory but something stopped him from trying to rescue Dean.

I have to admit, I've been pretty ambivalent about this show lately, but the "off" quality of everything makes me curious where they'll go with this.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No one drew Sam a map (as far as we know), but since Dean disappeared at the same moment Dick did, Purgatory should have been high on Sam's list of possibilities. He might not have been able to confirm this, but he shouldn't be surprised by it - unless there's more going on.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Obviously going into this scene, Sam already knows that Dean is alive, just hasn't seen him yet. I love the reunion. A little of everything in there that we've come to expect from the boys after so many years. Clearly Dean isn't spilling the beans and is being evasive, esp about Cas. I can't wait to see how this all pans out. Sam for one looks alot more relaxed than in years past. That year of being 'normal' or trying to be seems to have done him well.

    ReplyDelete
  37. To me it seems like either Dean or Sam called the other. Both were on edge not sure if it was a trap or not, which explains Dean quickly trying to see if Sam was human or not. (Also, having fought every monster ever created for a while year was bound to make Dean a bit paranoid)
I think/desperately hope, Castiel is still alive. Dean looked like he was hiding something. I think he meant "He didn't make it (out of Purgatory) not "He didn't make it alive." I hope they bring Cas back by the second half of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh well. It's what the writers went with.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't see reasons to panic yet. Maybe Sam got told by someone that they saw Dean or whatever. If he heard a clue , that would explain the ''not surprise''

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don't know, could be. I based on the promo with Cass looking really bad. But it could be something to do with his powers or anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  41. what do you mean cas didn't make it?:(((( i'm panicking here....

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well Dean is certainly more suspicious but if that means less emotional weight I'm all for it. So glad to see Baby looking good and the hug.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sigh. Groan. I was hoping less lying was part of more mature.

    ReplyDelete
  44. CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!

I'm getting a little tired of them teasing us with his fate all the time. Just a wee bit.

Anyways, I think it's pretty clear that he's not actually dead. And it's nice to see Dean vocalizing how he feels about him. They definitely made up in purgatory.

I love how Sam feels he doesn't have to run the tests, but Dean insists. It's a nice little indicator of how their lives have gone in different directions.

Looking forward to this so much!

    ReplyDelete
  45. "Guilty" and "upset" aren't mutually exclusive.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I agree with what you say, and I'm glad someone else feels it's a bit "off".

Maybe it's all going to tie into some bigger picture; after all there is a year to explore with both brothers.
I was just thinking how it was a little similar to the start of the pilot; the hut being Sam's apartment if you like, and Dean jumping on him and wrestling him to the floor like then.
Sam being back in "normal" life and Dean still being involved in all the problems of hunting and possibly going to ask Sam for his help, drawing him back into the Life.

I wonder if this is what Carver meant by a re-boot, or if there is much, much more.
I'm curious too to see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sam is supposed to be a near genius and he is an experienced hunter; he has been to heaven, hell and all over.
He should have been able to make an educated guess as to where his brother had gone. Dean did disappear along with Dick who was a Purgatory creature, after all.
Sam also had the know-how to get information from the after-life if he needed to; he's done it before.
    X
If Sam has tried everything and been unable to free his brother, and has made a conscious decision to give up Hunting as Dean is lost to him, that is understandable; but to lead us to think that Sam didn't have any idea where Dean might have gone is hard to believe.
So I really hope there is a lot more to be revealed.:)

    ReplyDelete
  48. "Things got pretty hairy towards the end..."
So, is it safe to assume that Dean and Cas were not separated in Purgatory? Or, at least, they got together at some point?

    ReplyDelete
  49. You do remember Dean telling Cas that lying is what humans do and how you get to be president. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. as in he didnt make it back I assume

    ReplyDelete
  51. well then either Cas is dead (doubt it), Cas didnt want anything to do with Benny and therefore chose to stay in Purgatory or he actually couldnt make it back for some reason and Dean went ahead without him.

    ReplyDelete
  52. yeah i got that...but i mean really?:(((:(((why?i'm gonna miss him:(!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Is it just me, or does Dean seem a lot like "2014" Dean in this one? I'm thinking maybe he made a bad choice, or even deliberately left Cas somewhere in Purgatory. Think of it as going to war. Maybe Cas was in bad shape so he chose to save himself instead of staying behind?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ha! Good point. If lying is immature than we have a lot of immature politicians out there. lol

    ReplyDelete
  55. At this point in the political process, my general thought is do the opposite of what the politicians do and life will be better.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Very edgy. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. I can see Dean feeling guilty about something that could or could not have been his fault, but I'm guessing he was in some way responsible -- whether directly or indirectly -- for whatever happened to Cas, so he's avoiding. That is actually typical Dean behavior. I'm not sure suspicious is the word I'd use, tho. More avoidance. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. The only reason I could see Cas staying behind is if he had to or he wanted to because he thought he deserved it/because of guilt. I think the 1st part is more likely (had to stay behind).

I don't believe he'd let Dean go alone with a vampire. He'd probably argue with Dean if getting help from a vampire bothered him, but would want to go with Dean if he didn't listen.

Basing this off their other arguments in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just finished season 7 DVD and as many times I had watched it on DVR I just noticed in Slash Fiction that Jody came to see Bobby wearing a tight leather jacket but left with a cloth one of a different color.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think Sam might have been clued in to meet him there, he looked like he was looking for someone. Maybe Dean called his brother's cell and told him to meet him there, then checked to make sure it was his brother, before the reunion began.
Crowley hardly told Sam anything, for all Sam knew, Dean was just dead, he did go up against a Leviathan, a very old creature, with only a crazy angel as back up.
I think Sam asked about Castiel because Cas always comes back, he was wondering whether he truly saw Cas lieing lifeless, because if Dean hadn't, then there was a high chance they'd see their friend again.
I think Dean left Cas in Purgatory, and that Cas was still alive when he left him, but he was (as he said) very messed up. So Dean thinks Cas most likely didn't make it long after Dean wasn't there to help him. Maybe Benny could only get Dean out, Cas told him to go on, and Dean is feeling guilty cause he knows Cas wouldn't survive long without him. (But he's not sure if Cas is dead yet). I hope he does come back, I don't want the last flash back to be of Cas' death.... unless he returns to the show a few episodes later.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Agreed. I think Benny pulled the Sam card on Dean (Or something similar) like askng him if he didn't want to get out of Purgatory, or if he had family, if he wondered whether they were still alive or if they needed him etc. I think whatever Benny did to get them out only worked for two people, and Dean had to leave Cas behind and he feels guilty.
.... Or maybe Cas literaly "Didn't make it" the portal/door or something opened and Cas was to crazy to get there on time, and it closed with him on the other side. It must be something similar, because I do think Dean looks guilty, he (like you said) most likely was responsible (directly or indirectly) for what happened to Cas, or at least Feels like he was responsible for it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Less lying is a worthwhile goal. Keep hope alive. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm sticking my prediction of about a month ago that Dean pulled a Shane/Otis (The Walking Dead) on Cas.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tiX6cOjA4U

    ReplyDelete
  63. Gruesome vid.
I think that's highly unlikely. It's completely out of character, Dean wouldn't do that to a complete stranger, much less his best/only friend. Dean saves people, he most likely feels guilty for what he didn't/ couldn't do, not for what he did. Worse case scenerio, Dean stepped through the door and left Cas there.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Maybe, but a lot of Dean fans have been complaining that Dean never gets a real story. To do that they would have to go pretty dark with the character.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hmmm, and here I though the Sam fans were complaining....
If Dean doesn't have a story, and neither does Sam, then who has Supernatural been about these last seven years? Bobby? I think they've both had their share of screen time and stories. The angel's thing was all about Dean....

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm great with less angsty Dean if that's what Purgatory results in. Perhaps paranoid was a closer word to what I meant than suspicious. After Purgatory, I'd run through the basics too - Borax, holy water, silver, the works.

He obviously knows more about Cas' situation than he's letting on. It sounds like he gave Cas an ultimatum. For me I'm thinking that Cas refused to do anything that would require him to bargain with a monster given the situation he just came from. I would also guess that Dean and Benny had to do some morally questionable things to break out and Cas wasn't going there. I think Dean sided with Benny and Cas was left in Purgatory. He's obviously not dead. That would be redundant by now.

    ReplyDelete
  67. New pictures prove that at some point Dean, Benny, and Cas were all in Purgatory together. We'll see that at least in episode 2.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Every side complains. It's the Supernatural fandom way.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Everyone's complaining. Where have you been? If you want to hear from a different fan group, just go to a different website. I'm willing to bet there's a site out there somewhere where Bobby fans have gathered to complain about his story.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Duh, they killed him!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hmmm, I'm really just glad that the show's still on after seven seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Three times!! (if you count burning the flask)

    ReplyDelete
  73. That would be perfectly in character for Dean. After Hell, I'm sure he didn't want to go through anything like that again and would have done anything necessary to get out if the possibility presented itself. Apparently Benny presented it and Cas didn't 'make it out' with them. For that, Dean would feel guilty and, for whatever Benny forced him to do to get out, he would feel paranoid that Sam may find out. He always worried about Sam seeing him as weak, so it would be something he'd hide if possible. Lots of intriguing ideas for the season. I like it. :))

    ReplyDelete
  74. I agree it's something along those lines. I think that Benny needed Dean because he was human - how many human souls could there be in Purgatory? Purgatory was created to hold monsters, maybe there was little known catch to allow a lost human soul to escape. If Benny knew that, he would be able to manipulate Dean -- who after Hell, would be desperate to not go through anything like that again -- into believing he could help him escape, when in fact it was Benny who needed Dean to escape. Just an idea, but Benny manipulating Dean and having Cas suffer the fallout seems much more likely in my opinion than Dean purposely doing something to hurt Cas.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The way I'm imagining it is Benny manipulating Dean and Cas sensing it but Dean, desperate to get out, believing what he had to. Cas wouldn't follow a vampire, and Benny would twist things. Dean is caught in the middle, not knowing who is trying to help (let's face it, Cas wasn't exactly Cas lately) and going with the plan that got him out regardless of who or what it cost. That would certainly make him feel guilty and responsible if something happened to Cas, but this time Dean put himself first -- something he rarely does.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Likewise, I do believe Benny manipulated Dean into thinking Dean need him when it was the other way around (or else he would hav escaped a long time ago) and maybe he continues to manipulate him back on earth, making Dean think he owes him.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Very possible. As tough a hunter as Dean is, he's easy to manipulate if you know what buttons to push. I'm guessing Benny is still manipulating him and Dean is avoiding thinking it through because he doesn't like what he might find -- his own guilt. Hopefully being back with Sam will give him some perspective, or Sam will see through the act and set Dean straight eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I know Carver answered the question about Sam not searching for Dean, with our "perception". But I think the one he means is Dean. He said we'd question one of the brothers in particular through the first part of the season, but to stick with it until we get the whole story.
I think this clip shows it's Dean who will test our perception through the first half. Sam not looking for Dean will be explained pretty quickly in the first episode, whether fans agree with it or not. So I think it's Dean that will challenge perception this year, and will seem very dark, until we know the whole story.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Maybe Benny could only get one person out and Cas made Dean go and he stayed behind.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It took a couple of tries to stick.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Maybe Dean just had to make sure that Sam was "real" based on what happened to him and Cas in Purgatory. So, maybe this meeting was arranged after all. But, looking at this sneak peek, Sam looks like he is not sure who or what he is going to see when he opens that cabin door. So, the boys have gone to Heaven and Hell and now Purgatory. It will be very interesting to see exactly what happened down there. This season is going to be awesome!
I got my new Blu Ray DVDs yesterday and saved myself almost $10! I will be watching more of them tonight.
Cannot wait for the season premiere to get here!

    ReplyDelete
  82. maybe
    its just me but
    it feels as
if Sam wasnt 100 % hapy about Dean being back...

    ReplyDelete
  83. Sam had stayed away from Dean for a whole year so perhaps he thought Dean could have done the same hence the question l think

    ReplyDelete
  84. I didn't get the impression that he wasn't happy about Dean being back. Just that a lot had happened for both of them, and both weren't saying everything that they knew.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anybody else think it's like Dean going to hell all over again then reappearing with no explanation and not being completely honest?

    ReplyDelete
  86. No not at all the same. Dean did not know how he got out of Hell and the only thing he kept from Sam was that he remembered all the bad things that had happened to him.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yeah I suppose, he seems to know something this time. I guess we will have to wait and see :)
