We always go into every season trying to be as honest as possible about where we think our officers are in their own growth. We all felt after two fun seasons of young cops on the beat and some big storylines, we wanted to show them growing up a little bit. That involves a little bit of a change in tone and involves some of the darker storylines. I don’t think we set out to be darker this season, per se, but we were trying to grow our characters up and grow some of the stories. That, obviously, meant that some of the stories had to go to darker places.

Hopefully, Sam won't be too angry with her when she comes back. And I don't like the Sam/Gail vibes I'm getting here.
ReplyDeleteSeriously hate that we have to wait a year.
They'll probably come back and find Sam & Gail have hooked up and something is bound to happen between Nick & Andy while undercover.... the writers always do stuff like that to mess with us and create conflict between characters.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we should read too much into Sam/Gail scene at the Penny. Last season, they had similar scenes between Luke/Gail. Nothing came out of it.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure Sam has reason to complain because he too went on a task force unannounced in season two. I'm sure Sam will wait for Andy, unless something happens between Nick and Andy during the time they are undercover.
Any one know when the season 4 will premiere, next summer or earlier than that?
No, it's not bound to happen.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this season, I agree with growing the characters and changing up their lives.
