In the final scene I figured that's what was going to happen... but I was watching it without knowing what time it was so I had no idea it was the final scene. And when it ended, and Vince Gilligan's name showed up... I tensed up, chills down my spine, and I cringed (more my arms contorted awkwardly) and said "What the f***!" Not because it wasn't awesome and a moment we've been waiting for... but that we have to wait a f***ing year until we see the end of this awesome ride!
When they first showed the book at the begining of the episode as Walt got out of the shower, I was like, "nice nod to Gale, hahaha" but i never thought that it would lead to IT. Then hank goes in the bathroom, I had forgotten about the book, but I was like why show us Hank in there unless something big was gonna happen, and then boom, the book!!!! I need a refresher... did Gale give Walt that book???? Seemed like it. I need to rewatch!!
Keeping the breath for the whole episode and then to see that black, without music, is one of the most unique and rare things that this show gives us. Gotta wait the summer.
This episode has left me with a million thoughts mostly about the wonder that is Hank all of which I posted on Tumblr (if anyone is bored enough to read http://deardarkness.tumblr.com/post/30812319759/times-up-in-which-i-have-a-lot-of-feelings)
To sum up though this is the moment I have been waiting for, for Hank to finally make that connection and by god I can't wait to see how he decides to deal with the revelation. It is going to be a great final 8 episodes for the always overlooked Dean Norris.
Other things I loved:
+ The beautiful montages, so often cheesy in other TV shows and movies but they always work in Breaking Bad
+ The Jesse/Walt scene oh that was hard to watch, especially when Jesse broke down at the end and was clearly terrified for his life
+ I like that they used the montage to move time along, other 3 months has passed so probably just under 9 until Walt's 52nd birthday
+ Is the cancer back? It would explain why he decided to give up the drug game, he couldn't bare anyone else taking over and probably finally realised that it was a bit boring when you had no one to fight and need to exert his control over. Todd and Lydia both seemed so willing to go along with everything
+ Walter White brought down by poetry, Gale and Hank's bowel movements
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Gotta wait a whole freaking year now.

BB finale was awesome last night! This series has always been so great and I can't wait to see how they wrap everything up.
ReplyDeleteFinally! We all knew it would come, but now it just mind blowing. Can't wait to see how it develops into the finale season!
ReplyDeleteIt serves to remind me how every little detail has to be attended to. Walt had been so meticulous to that point. You're never really "out" are you?
