Personally I loved when Peter went dark on his shifter killing spree. Dark characters make for great drama. Plus there is always the redemption arc or the epiphany where they see the error of their ways. Both are always fun!
but its hard b/c shes already such a beloved character. And you feel so much from her parents and there fear and regret and sadness in seeing her "hardened"They'd never want that for her but they couldn't do anything about it that is what peter was saying on the bridge.
I guess you're right, but I personally am one of those "the ends justify the means" types. So her going dark on the road to save humanity is okay by me and honestly.... somewhat expected.
Most of the characters have their bout with their dark sides during Fringe's run.
I didn't see it that way. Etta didn't really have a choice in the matter (either the other guy or her) and It seemed Peter was happy that his girl knows how to take care of her self. Watching his little girl choose to torture someone may have a different effect on him.
I love how messed up Etta is! It totally makes sense considering what has happened to her at such a young age, no one who is separated from their family and grows up in that kind of future and loses their partner is going to be stable and playing nice.
I think that peter/olivia are getting real worried about Etta especially Liv from this preview. With good reason. They have a lot of back tracking to do and years of parenting they were robbed of.
Harvard was ambered? Does that mean Gene stands a chance? :D Etta...she's certainly been hardened by life but hopefully Peter and Olivia can provide her with some happiness and grounding.
So sad seeing those natives and what how the observers are treating ecryone so cruelly the little ones are practically in rags! C'mon bishop family we gotta save the world.
So you don't think if that guard she is torturing hadn't gotten her first that he wouldn't have taken her to Windmark to be wiped/tortured? This is dystopia kill or be killed. Anyone with the loyalist mark on their face needs to move out of the way or prepare to be slaughtered by Fringe team 5.
I'm loving Etta, she is really effed up. So far it impresses me how she can hold it together, being ruthless and letting herself hope and take joy in reuniting with her family; it's like she is two very different people but she doesn't needs to dissociate herself to function. That's the impression I get thus far, who know what will happen.
I agree but Etta is 25 or 26 now, there isn't much parenting they can do.I can't see them back tracking, that isn't going to work, all they can do is guide her now.
I liked it. Packed enough character development and plot development into the 40 minutes.
One thing that annoyed me is why did they waste the "dead" tactic they wanted to save when Peter just let Olivia in the back door? Couldn't Etta have just let Peter and Olivia in the back door? :P
Oh sure help of course, that's what i meant when i said guide,i thought you meant they were going to start telling Etta what to do,w/o question. And in my mothers eyes i will always be her little girl, and trust me i am much, much older than Etta,or you for that matter!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This season is going to kill me. :O

ReplyDeletethe hatch, their underground home for awhile! i love the little refrences from Adam's other shows.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Etta! listen to mummy!
ReplyDeleteEtta is absolutely a Daddy's girl.
ReplyDeleteI agree. That comment I think was him seeing the fight and drive in his daughters eyes and he is confirming that he knew his daughter would have that.

ReplyDeleteFringe + Post-Apocalyptic scenario = Awesome!
ReplyDeleteseriously!? no one is commenting on the red dragon, or what it could symbolize- the king arthur story cycle, the once and future king? time loop?

ReplyDeleteOh Fringe, I already have separation anxiety :(
are they dressing Etta purposefully in the same tones and colors as her mother, their shirt in the lab scene even looks he same.
ReplyDelete"That's not a problem for someone who has done acid" with that big grin on Walters face as he says it! Oh Walter,i do love you!
ReplyDeleteI agree but Etta is 25 or 26 now, there isn't much parenting they can do.I can't see them back tracking, that isn't going to work, all they can do is guide her now.
ReplyDeleteNot that different from Olivia really.

You're right and Anna even said as much in an interview. I agree but its not over when you are 25/26 I'm that age and my parents still teach me a lot.
