Character actor Roger Rees has been cast in a key guest star role on CBS’ upcoming Sherlock Holmes drama Elementary.
The British actor plays an important figure from Holmes’ mysterious past (hmm, his father?). The role is for one episode, but could evolve into a recurring character on the show.

He'll always be Robin Colcord to me.
ReplyDeleteI would say he would be Moriarty, but that is too close to the original Holmes casting wise. I expect this re-imagining to have Moriarty be iPad with artificial intelligence or something....
ReplyDeleteHis father for sure. From the looks of it Moriarty will be played probably by someone more his age.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen him in Oz and W13 before, enjoyed those roles quite a bit so would be happy to see him as Pa Holmes, or maybe a Dr. Joseph Bell type who teaches/hones Sherlock's skills in his youth.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing the pilot, I definitely think "father" is the most likely answer.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about this, he was great in The West Wing and WH13,i'm sure it will turn into a recurring character!!!!!!
