James Gandolfini, best known for his role as Tony Soprano in The Sopranos, is set to star in a HBO pilot 'Criminal Justice': an adaptation of Peter Moffat's 2008 BBC drama, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Gandolfini will play Jack Stone, a jailhouse atroney who finds his clients in police stations.
The HBO's version will be based on the original version story that revolves around Ben (played by Ben Whishaw), a man who after a whole night of partying with a stranger, wakes up to find that same stranger stabbed to death and himself accused as the doer.
Steven Zaillian (Schindler's List) will co-write and direct the pilot and Richard Price (The Colour of Money) is on board as co-writer, as well. The pilot will be filmed in the fall, in NYC.
