Ha! XD I watched Elementary and all I will say is that it was no Person of Interest! XD I watched it with 2 others, one a huge fan of Miller and one a fan of Lucy Liu, and both of them came out saying they needed to see more before deciding if they would keep watching it.
I will be quite surprised if Elementary puts up numbers similar to Person of Interest and is the #1 new drama for the season like POI was last year.
So not sure about Elementary, even though it might be a bit unfair but saw the Danny Boyle's Frankenstein production and Miller as the monster and Cumberbatch as Frankenstein I felt they blew it out of the park but the other way around while good left me a little cold while good left me a little meh after the other version.
Part of me thinks that Elementary will be okay or even possibly a superior procedural but while Sherlock is around it will always be second best.
Elementary? Not so sold on it as I was the hugest Sherlock nerd ever in early childhood. Loved almost all of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books growing up. Hate what movies and and the like have done to Sherlock in the 21st century. I don't care for either lead so that doesn't help either. Not to mention they replaced The Mentalist, yet another strike. I think Thursdays at 10p I will be going to bed.
Looking forward to Person of Interest so much, that show was an absolute surprise from last season. I will not be watching Elementary though. I am on my limit on the number of crime procedurals I want to watch (to be honest, I think it's already too much) and I don't feel the need to add another one. This being said, I think CBS's entire Thursday lineup will be a ratings hit!
Same with me. I watch all of the shows CBS has on Thursday now. It's shaping up to be the insane competition night that no dvr can handle. Pretty much like Monday night.
I watch a lot of procedurals as well. Both CSI's (did watch Miami but now it's gone), Hawaii Five-0, POI. I've always been surprised that everyone didn't expect POI to do much last season. I don't usually watch the first seasons of shows because I want to see if they become hits or not before I start following them. POI, however, was an exception. I jumped all over it because as soon as I saw the first promo I could tell it was going to be a hit. I saw a show similar to both CSI and 24 and it's hard to go wrong with that combination. Also, once I saw that one of the Nolans was the creator that sealed the deal for me. So I'm not surprised at all. I just can't wait for it to return in a few weeks. It's going to be good.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
wooow a perfect combination
ReplyDeleteThursdays are shaping up to be my new Must See TV day.
