Yesterday saw strong performances from Once Upon A Time and Friends, both seeing off difficult competition leading to us saying goodbye to How I Met Your Mother and Battlestar Galactica respectively.
Today sees the biggest TV show to come from Britain, and on to TV's most treasured characters, Doctor Who, taking on Nathan Fillion's always popular Castle for a place in the next round. We also have an Abrams vs. Whedon battle as Alias takes on Buffy as fans of both creators do battle.

ReplyDeleteDoctor Who... more fun, interesting and compelling stories for me. Buffy and Alias was a really difficult choice, but I had to pick Buffy. Alias lost me it's last season Buffy held me through the entire run. So, Doctor Who and Buffy

ReplyDeleteREALLY conflicted on the first one. On one hand DR who had perfect Eccleston and Tennant years not to mention the flawless and awesome Amy Pond, although The last two seasons had a lot of bad writing and were only watchable because of Amy Pond as M.Smith's doctor was just...dull. On other hand, Castle has Nathan Fillon and awesome episodes through the show. So it comes to either voting for something that was "FANTASTIC" before yet is not now and voting for something that is great(but not fantastic) and is still great. In the end I guess I'll vote for Castle, even though I am still conflicted.
ReplyDeleteSecond is no-brainer for me. Buffy for life. You just can't get better than BTVS, the best show ever created, EVER.
Why is life so cruel? DW or Castle....forgive me eleven but Castle is my everything! (and oh that's easy my vote is for Buffy).

ReplyDeleteif this was two years ago, I would have easily voted for Dr.Who. Now? The only good thing about the Moffat's seasons has been Amy Pond. She made the show watchable and even her storyline had some serious "why is this even a plot" kind of mess.
¡Doctor Who!, I like Castle but I love DW. And Alias, Buffy is good, but I prefer Alias.
ReplyDeleteThe first poll was easy - Castle. I've attempted to get into Doctor Who over the years, but none of the attempts have been successful. I think Castle, however, is one of the most well written procedurals on TV right now.
ReplyDeleteThe second poll was possibly the most difficult decision I've made in this competition so far, as I thought Alias was brilliant. In the end, however, I had to go with my gut (and my heart) and choose Buffy, which had seven fantastic seasons full of brilliantly written and always evolving characters.

ReplyDeleteDW over "Castle" is a no-brainer. "Alias" and BtVS are both brilliant and in fact are very similar in many ways. Choosing between the 2 is cruel and unusual. They could easily be finalists in a poll like this.
