    Last year was a bit of a surprise to me and turned out to be a very fun adrenaline-fueled thriller!

    IT's based on a book by Chris Ryan (a real life SAS operator) and was first broad cast on Sky 1 in the UK as Chris Ryan's Strike Back. It starred Richard Armitage and Andrew Lincoln and was 6 episodes centered on Richard Armitage's character for the most part.


    Cinemax picked up the series for the next season, but they dropped the "Chris Ryan" in the title and basically the entire cast. The tweaked the tone and made it more action based and comical than the original series was too.


    You can watch the first Cinemax season without needing to see the original "Chris Ryan's Strike Back" Season. Richard Armitage from CR's Strike Back makes a VERY brief appearance as a foundation for the season, but you really do not need to know the story from CR's Strike Back to watch the Cinemax series.
