I think I may be the only one not sold on this yet... or at least one of the few.
There is a lot I like and think has potential, but there is also a lot that makes me skeptical.... especially the lead heroine Charlie with her goals and attitude. I'm hoping the clips have been her at her most annoying and she will be less so in the series.
I see the Sydney Bristow and a dash of Kate Austen in her. I feel like she's that heart of gold strong character that really doesn't know what she's getting herself into...and she's going to have to adjust to a lot of new truths, including whom she thought her family was. I am hopeful that it's just the first season arc getting Danny back and learning that there might be a political/Theological agenda for 'the lights going out' and that this leads the characters to other things. I think in some ways, especially for the younger characters, this will be very much a coming of age story.
I think the one thing to remember is that some of these characters are young and so we have to make lead way for their mistakes being apart of their journey. Dorothy and Frodo grow up a lot once they get out of their home towns...
I don't have real problems with the characters yet at all, but I do wonder about the episodic plots, since very little has been revealed about that.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This is gonna rock!..........................................i hope.
ReplyDeleteSooo looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteThe whole concept is great, my only hope is that they will handle it well
Looking good! Gotta admit...I'm not sure about the lead character Charlie but all the others seem interesting.

This clip did not assuage my fears at all....
Agreed.
ReplyDeleteShe is my biggest fear and least favorite part of the series from the little I have seen so far....
People had doubts about Anna as Olivia in Fringe and look how great she turned out. We can hope this is the same.
ReplyDeleteI am more and more excited about this show with every clip, which actually makes me nervous because I will be going in with really high expectations.
