I loved it so much! The Pete/Myka shipper in me is extremely happy with this episode. PETE LOVES HER. AND WANTS A BABY WITH HER. alk;sdjfalksdjfalskdjfaksldjfalskdjfaksdfjdfa
Loved the two Psych actors. Sassy!Pete was hilarious.
And LOL at the extremely blatant product placement. I see what you did there.
This is one of my favorite episodes. And now I want to write a fic where Pete didn't bag the artifact on time, and Myka ended up having the baby.
Godawful, incoherent mess. Tried to cram too much into one episode, so nothing got developed or given the attention that it deserves. The only thing in character about Myka this episode was her hair.
The Pete and Myka shippers out there will probably like this episode, the people who don't want them together or don't care will probably find it boring.
Makes perfect sense. Pete has been okay with the idea for a while, but Myka is the one pushing the whole "like siblings" thing, so he's going along with what she says so he can at least have a friendship with her.
I doubt that Myka actually sees him as a brother. Four years and she hasn't had any significant connection with another man besides Pete. There's that whole thing with HG, and that would be interesting to explore, but I doubt the writers will go in that direction.
Because she's afraid of losing him, the lifespan of a Warehouse Agent really isn't that long, she's essentially "friendzoned" him. However I think she's just hiding her feelings so she doesn't get hurt again. Unfortunately, that kind of mindset is difficult to work through, so it's taking time.
It's very similar to how the relationship on Bones worked. Booth was totally for the idea, but Brennan didn't want to entertain the thought because she felt that she would lose him if things didn't work out. The bubble only popped when Booth finally came out and told her what he wanted. Granted, it didn't work out at first, but it made her seriously think about it.
Something similar needs to happen for Myka to actually give it real consideration. Knowing how completely oblivious she is about that stuff, she doesn't know that Pete likes her that way, so she doesn't NEED to consider that they could be more than just friends.
It's really kind of confusing I know, but when you know a thing or two about psychology and human behavior it makes sense. :)
I like the episode but I really hope they'll not try to put Pete and Myka together.... I absolutly LOVE their brother/sister relationship! there's enough shows where the lead couple fall in love and blablabla.....don't get me wrong, I love those shows and usually i'm the first one to ship male/female leads together (Castle/Becket, Jane/Lisbon, Both/Brennan...) but I don't want that in WH13... please please please! :)
what a fun episode to ease off the ominous tone of the first several episodes back.. just a fun good time in the field.. :) i laughed a lot at this one.. good times.. i don't think a relationship b/t Pete & Myka would ever really happen so i find this to be a cute little glimpse of what it might be like and then a quick exit back to BFFland.
How cool were the scenes with Mrs. F & Claudia ?? i really wanted to stay with their story a bit longer.. at one point at the hockey rink, i kept thinking about what are C & F doing,
Yeah, exactly. How many times can you call someone a sibling, call the idea of sleeping with them something that would never happen before it's understood?
So what you mean is that when a woman says she's not interested in a man sexually and calls him her brother, what she really means is that she is just scared to have sex with him? Good to know, from a psychological standpoint.
What? I'm saying that it really isn't a brother-sister relationship. Pete wants to have a baby with her - That became canon last night. I can see it becoming something more eventually. I can wait. In fact, I wouldn't mind if Myka/HG happened first, even though Myka/Pete is my OTP.
It's nowhere near quite that simple. Other things are being taken into account. Why do people automatically assume that a psychological evaluation for one woman is an evaluation for ALL women? This is specific to HER character. No person is exactly the same, so why do you assume I was talking about every woman who has that mindset? -_-
Another thing, people forget that while these characters aren't actually real, their writers are. That actually makes it a lot easier to predict where something will go when you look at their past actions. TV writers fall into incredibly predictable patterns. You'd be surprised how restricted they are.
That was quite a lot of fun. I feel like a yo yo with regard to big arc story of the season. I go from interested to annoyed with each new step in the plot. This ep took me to...why should I believe the Brother Data gives a flying fig about the state of the world (and this great evil) if he doesn't care what harm he lets loose by stealing all those artifacts. Has someone already postulated that Brother Data and his brotherhood *are* the great evil?
(Seriously...it does NOT make each new villain look more dangerous to have them able to get past warehouse security. It makes warehouse security laughable. It's becoming as much of a joke (to me at least) as the number of times Giles got knocked out on Buffy. )
I did really enjoy Mrs. Fredric and Claudia. It was cool seeing an artifact born and that little tidbit underlined their point about why the dog tags could NOT be used to murder someone. I also loved that while she showed Claudia something really cool! She also showed her the cost of the job.
You're not the only one wondering. They started "fixing" it last season by taking out all of her natural curl. These season they seem to have gone in the opposite direction.
I have wondered if the Big Evil would be the brotherhood and their mission to fix time. Seems like we are supposed to think this just to find them all on the same side later in the season.. fighting.. something/one else.
I don't like how they make the WH vulnerable every year.. year 1.. claudia hacks in, but i am okay with that b/c she's on our side now and a damn good hacker. year 2 McPherson and HG get back in (with help from Regents no less!) I am okay with that b/c they both worked there.. i can believe they would be smart enough to find the chinks in the WH armor. Season 3 - Sykes.... eeeeehhhhh.. i enjoyed when they sent contaminated artifacts into the WH.. not so much when they bombed the place and got in through the back door.. which they learned about by torturing Regents.. I mean Artie's been there forever and just met the whole group of Regents in Season 1.. and Sykes kills like 5 of them in one year ? and then to follow up that season with another season of someone stealing artifacts & using them against our people.. so easily.. after season upon season of Artie yelling about beefing up security... it's frustrating.. my theory is a Regent is helping the Brothers.. b/c i cannot believe that the WH is that easy to steal from.. redirect the alarm that something is missing so Artie doesn't get the message? i'm only cool if Claudia does it :)
This was one of the more enjoyable episodes of WH13 I've seen in a long time. It was a lot of fun to watch, and thus, very entertaining. The "Mrs. Frederic-Claudia apprenticeship" storyline was particularly intriguing to me. I hope the show gives more glimpses like this, into the mythology of the artifacts, the warehouses, and the 'players' (i.e., caretakers, regents, etc.) behind this show's concept. It was extremely well thought out, written well, and very creative. I hope WH13 has more episodes like this.
The Pete/Myka shipper in me totally did a happy dance too! But, I kinda wish they relationship development moved faster than the pace of molasses, or snails, or whatever is the slowest thing on earth right now... ;)
And yes, the car system plug in about Bing was not very well placed. I'm not sure how much more subtle they can make it though. Still, gave an (unintended, I'm sure) laugh. :D
I have been bothered by Myka's hair since this season began. I don't understand how the director or someone, anyone, didn't speak up about it sooner. It's completely ridiculous that 5 episodes in, we still see this monstrosity.
I liked Myka's hair, and overrall look, during that Alice possession storyline. Personally, I think the hair I'm seeing from the episodes we've seen this season so far, is the result of someone slapping on a poorly made wig mop, and not bothering to style it.
What? I'm saying that it really isn't a brother-sister relationship. Pete wants to have a baby with her - That became canon last night. I can see it becoming something more eventually. I can wait. In fact, I wouldn't mind if Myka/HG happened first, even though Myka/Pete is my OTP.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteProbably the worst episode of the show.
ReplyDeletepete truly love myka and do everthing in his power to help her...
ReplyDeleteThe Pete and Myka shippers out there will probably like this episode, the people who don't want them together or don't care will probably find it boring.

ReplyDeleteEverything klutzy_girl said plus it was really cool to see the Chief and Det. Lassiter from Psych.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with Myka's hair? Does she have extensions or something? Whatever the case, it needs to be styled better because it looks like crapola.
ReplyDeleteThey did pack a lot into the show but it was a good enough round a bout.

ReplyDeleteIt was OK but I just wish that they would stop trying to tell three stories every episode.
ReplyDeletei love the just rolled outta bed wild curly haired look... reminds me of when she was possessed by Alice and looked slightly unhinged. :)
