  1. Intense, Glad that Russell broke free from the authority. I wish he would have staked Salome and Nora. Something tells me that Jessica isn't one to believe in what everyone else now believes in. I think she's more of a mainstreamer.

  2. And Jessica definitely has a bone to pick with religious extremism, she isn't getting back on that horse. Besides, she loves humans too much.

  3. Finally gaining momentum towards the season finale, all I can say is bring it on!

  4. I also think that Eric is not buying it at all, even after he was forced to have lilth's blood and saw her. He's faking it being loyal and part of this new authority

  5. I think the same as well. Faking loyalty is the only option he and Jess have for getting out, I hope they team-up even for a bit.

  6. I would like to see Eric kill someone in these last two episodes. I also want him to be pivotal in taking down the authority.

  7. Set up ep, but a very good one. The Jessica/Jason/Hoyt scene was sad, but well done and even though Hoyt may show up again, it's good that they trimmed a character off the top heavy cast. I'm still at a loss as to what's going on with Bill. I was thinking that he's planning something, but him drawing Jessica in through me for a loop (unless he has a plan written in the vamp bible that he wants her to read and needs her help in executing) I do like where the Tara/Pam storyline seems to be heading as I finally like Tara again (it took a lot for me to say that). It'll be interesting to see where they go in the final 2 eps, but hopefully it'll be one heck of a thrill ride that hopefully will result in the death of Russell and Steve Newlin.

  8. FINALLY! Ruussell is back! Unfortunately I still wanted to FF through most of the Authority/Religious flap trap.

But there was much more to like here. Hoyt's scene with Jessica and Jason was awesome. As I was watching that scene with Bill and Jessica I knew immediately that he'd miscalculated. She's faced that kind of indoctrination before and resisted it. I think she's the key to rescuing our boys. That and the fact that protecting Sookie will trump them all.

Liked Sam and Luna as mice. Was surprised Luna didn't shift while Steve was yelling at Emma.

I officially like Tara the vampire better. Her handling of the Sheriff was a great use of the principle 'it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.'

More to like about this episode...which is to say there was l pleased that it wasn't has heavy on the Authority story as previous weeks.

  9. I was thinking about Jessica and her love of humans and it occurred to me that it might be a common reaction of vampires that were turned after vampires came out of the closet. As Bill said season before last...Jessica was born into a different world.

  11. Excellent episode, but does this mean no more Goderic appearances from now on?

  12. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really like Tara as a vamp. In the first couple episodes of this season when she had yet to speak I was kind of hoping she would be kept mute since her lines in the past have always made me cringe. I was afraid she wouldn't change from that hard one-note character, but I love the development of her relationship with Pam, a character I have always loved. It's a relief to see them working together, or that Tara has really invested herself in her new life.

And on a side note, there is no way Eric drank the Lilith Kool-Aid and is now a die-hard convert. No way! If anything I think after what he saw Lilith do to Godric the only thing he could think to do to make things right was to stick around to ensure the downfall of this new religious fervor which has officially claimed Bill. Chosen One? That is so ridiculous. This is not about the actor himself, but first Bill ends up as the King last season and now he's some kind of messiah? This is glorified fanfiction at its worst. I really am glad this will mark the end of Alan Ball's crazy plots revolving solely around his love of Stephen Moyer. I just hope the damage done isn't so severe that this show I have loved can't pull out of the downward spiral it seems to be headed in.

  13. Who said it has anything to do with the actor himself, and second ALAN BALL DOESN'T WRITE THE PLOTS HE'S JUST THE SHOWRUNNER. I think you're a big confused it's the writers who come up with these storyline. There is no damange to this show, what are you even talking about. There is no downward spiral, this show has a habit of going in bizarre directions and then shooting back up towards normalcy. Eric did drink the kool aid but he's faking being convert in order to save his own life. I think Bill was controlling what they saw either through some computer screen that only they could see.

  14. I don't think so, it was sad but compelling no. That's when the imagined lilith, who I doubt is real killed Godith

  15. I understand and respect what you said, just to add that in.

  16. Thought this one was much much better and had the scenes and emotional connection that the last few eps had been missing!

Really enjoyed seeing Tara wield one of Eric's old swords, and was glad Pam wasn't going to give up Tara.

Thought the all Hoyt scenes were kind of sad, but I can't help to think that this is the set up for some season 6 plot line, either dealing with why not knowing Jason and Jessica could be dangerous to them, or if we may be visiting Alaska next season...although I almost wonder if Hoyt is even going to make it there...I could see the writers either killing him, or "turning" him by the end of the season, because they usually don't write these tearful-trying to move on scenes for nothing! (Maybe Bill and the Authority will make Jessica do it! That would be an interesting comparison to the end of season one)

I really like the plot with Warlo, John Stackhouse, and this Fae "contract". I am looking forward to learning more about Warlo and why this contract was made...I almost thought it could be Russell, because when he went off about the sun, he ditched his Mississippi accent, and his more ancient one came out, reminding us again just how old he is and how obsessed with Fae blood has he become---which I thought it was great that he just ended up having a falling out with Salome!

Bill, Bill, Bill....He's so lost it! Even if he can escape this, or if he is faking, it's going to be hard to forgive him...First stops Eric, kills Molly, and basically lock's down Jessica.

I'm actually enjoying Russell and Steve more than I thought I could, but as an AVL league member, spinning on behalf the new Authority, I wonder if Steve is going to follow Russell's lead, or if Steve is going to have to choose, because Salome seems pretty upset that Russell couldn't stick to the Theology...

It's was nice to have some non violent scenes in Merlot's.

The Godric and Lilith thing is also perplexing...can a spirit really "kill" another spirit? --But I wonder if Lilith isn't what we think Lilith is, and if these is some kind of political trick and that what ever the blood of Lilith really is, plays on fear of those that are disloyal and not on truth. But I am curious if we will ever meet Lilith out side this dreamscape, and or if we learn that this is not Lilith, or if what Lilith told the Vampires is not the truth??

Anyways I felt better about the finale episodes after this one. I'll be anxious to see how the season's going to end!

  17. A show runner is often also either an [executive] producer and/or on the writing staff and for True Blood Alan Ball (until next season) is BOTH. Usually then producers often do tell the writers what to write and writers come together in a writing room to discuss plot/outilines and decided who's in charge of writing what episodes and what gets put into any given episode It's a team effort.

I agree with your argument against Krystal214 that it's first not fair to blame something like a plot on just one person, nor do I feel Alan Ball's vision ruined the SVMS, as I think in some ways he has explored Harris ideas further than even Harris has and has somehow kept the humorous charm. I think this season has been hectic and in a sense many of the episodes did loose some emotional residence that past seasons have had, but I am willing to give the season the benefit of the doubt to expose the idea that who any of us are is a very complicated notion, by more heavily playing on being under the influence both physically and politically and this season really uses everything we have ever scene and finds a way to make something that is new and still hard to specifically define in Lilith or what Lilith really is...

Bill might being trying to prove if Lilith is "really" there...I am hopeful that he has some doubts, but so far they have been pretty suppressed.

  18. Hoyt and Jessica were my favourite couple in seasons 2 & 3 and I hated how they messed them up just to give Jason someone else to fuck last season. But I am happy that Hoyt gets to leave alive and happy and I thought all of those scenes were done very well.

Also loving Russell and Newlin with puppy Emma, hilarious stuff.

  19. What if Lilith isn't real at all, I do think the blood isn't lilith's. Does anyone think it's Roman's, but I don't think any of the vampires know the real truth.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah! I mean what if it's like a potion, rather than just some old vampires' blood. I mean initially I didn't think they could drink each other's blood (otherwise why don't they just do that?), so there has to be something 'more than vamp blood' about it. What if this stuff is 'cursed', or a by product of Wiccan/Bruja stuff??? Let alone that maybe it isn't as old as we think it is. I can't remember if Roman ever said when he acquired it, but that's kind of interesting to think about!

  21. Yes, because Lilith killed him

  22. Well he was dead already, twice if you think about it. That's why I wasn't sure.

  23. An episode I actually liked in this season, who would have guessed? When I saw Hoyt leaving, I was like I hope it sticks, because this cast really needs to be trimmed way down. I really don't like the disjointed feeling of this season. It seems to get worse and worse every season. The fae story is shaping up into something I am excited about. I am quite tired of Bill and Eric's "excellent" adventure saga, The Authority just seems so sad now, I hate how it has devolved into a religious extremist kind of thing. I'm glad the new sheriff is dead. I like Pam and Tara together. Now if we can just get Eric back into the family all will be right in the world.

  24. I love/hate the Jessica-Hoyt-Jason scene. It was so sad. And it was the best scene in whole episode. And it would be the perfect scene, if Jessica sheded just one bloody tear.
She was also great and in the end if episode. Is it just me or she will play a significant part in last two episodes??
Eric is most definitely up to something. I can't buy this whole "I forgive you" act. No way!
Maybe he and Bill will "wake up" from this this nightmare, now that Sookie's life is in danger.

  25. Oh, I definitely don't think Lilith is (or was ever) real. It is an hallucinogen of some kind. I also doubt that it was Roman's blood.
