Fantastic start to the season! I liked that they didn't waste too much time and jumped right into it, having Nick vent his feelings to his mother and that they further deepened the mystery of whatever the royal families are up to, and the mystery of the key. I like the intro of Nick's mom and that he will have someone to learn advanced Grimm-ing from. Can't wait til the next ep!
Comparing this premiere to the pilot I can see the growth of the series an I like it! It has matured nicely in a short time and I love the more serial element that seems to be set up this season.I also think the leads have really grown into their roles now and are no longer learning how to play their parts.
James Frain is a welcome addition!
All in all this was a great way to start off the season.
There is nothing so annoying as a good to be continued when you're in the middle of watching something like this. But then again I'm just glad it's back already.
That was great...and too short. Really, the premiere of Stars Earn Stripes should have been 1 hour and this could have been a two hour block. I was never able to trust Nick's mother. I expected her to be 'infected' by the coins and not really planning to destroy them, Basically I never trusted a word she said. :-)
I still don't know if the Captain is a good guy or a bad guy. Half the time that pleases me the rest of the time it makes me crazy. Is the Juliette cure going to get her all of her memories back or is it just a way to reset her character to the beginning of the first season and completely clueless about all of the Grimm goings on? Great start to the season. Lots of juicy set up to the season. I was worried that they were going to make us wait until September for the second part of this ep. :-)
I agree with Darque...the show has grown up. I have to tell you I love Monroe....he is the BEST! Poor Hank...LOL............The hug between mom and Nicky was very genuine. Nick showed his little boy vulnerability excellent! Ahhhh it was great to have some prime-time NEW stuff on TV. I love Fall TV!
nick mom scare the hell of me those eyes if a saw them in the dark alley..mmmm even my reflection no one will see and nick hug to his mom those tears were unique and sincere from the heart
''I was never able to trust Nick's mother. I expected her to be 'infected' by the coins and not really planning to destroy them, Basically I never trusted a word she said. :-)''
;P Everytime Nick was showing her something else I was going ''Dude 0_o Don,t show the trailer/the key..etc, to your ''dead'' mother, its a trap!''
No not paranoid...... just cautious. I too am concerned w Nick just Giving Momma Grimm all the goods. I know it's a "Long Lost Momma Syndrome" kinda thing, but in a world where Grimm's exist, he should be a little more cautious! Just because she's Momma, doesn't mean she might have ulterior motives. - That being said, I hope for Nick's sake, Momma isn't playing THAT way.
Was a very great start to a new season!
Juliet will most likely forget all Grimm-related info. And over the course of time, whether it be this season or further down road, she will begin to remember.
Am not sure what the Capt'n is up to.... he's very sneeky and shadowy. Is he going along w the Royal's, or does he too have his own agenda? hmmm
Monroe is The Best! Love'em! Makes me laugh, and has quite the protective brother thing going on w Nick. -- Dude, your Mom scares me! Ain't it the truth!
What can I say about Poor Ol Hank. The man has been thru quite a bit, and now he's seen something...... No sleep, and a rifle across his chest.... this can't be good.
******** Your HIS mother.... Yes, and I'm feeling Very protective! ......... this is something to look forward to!
Especiallty when the mom talked about the royal family and that some Grimm used to work for thoses famillies, I'm wondering if she can be working for one.
On one side i'm wondering to myself ''why the hell would she work with/for a royal family??''....but on the other hand, I'm wondering why *any* Grimm did that, why did they have to gain? (...unless one family has already 2...3 keys maybe and they promise something to the ones who help find the remaining ones...)
I was disappointed that we didn't get some discussion between Nick and his mom about his non-traditional approach (they didn't even mention it at all after Monroe and Rosalee left). But I suppose we might get some of that next week.
Voted awesome! This is exactly what I want in a premiere, to have it pick up where the finale left off. It was even better because the finale was such a short time ago. We see again the cool tae kwon do fight with Akira, Mom coming in to save the day, and Nick's well-played shock at seeing "Mom." I too am a little not sure about this woman. Surely there are beasts who can make themselves look like someone else (shapeshifter beasts?), and this woman now has a whole lot of info. The part of me that trusts her notes that she knew about the trailer, and the diary page, and also the looks she gave him were loving. Interesting that Renard wants Juliette cured, and I think he'll pull it off. I liked the Monroe/Rosalee meeting with Mom. Even though it was shown previously in a preview, I still appreciate how well Silas delivers a comic line. Renard was the more interesting character this episode. I'm eager to learn more about him, more so than Mom. (Also, someone please get Mom a hair conditioner, really).
Shapeshifter Mom would be interesting. I too don't know what to think of her, but it would be fun to see her dark secrets, so I'm hoping for that. The only thing I regret about this premiere is that it finished too soon - it was pretty darn good.
After mom gets wrapped up, we'll undoubtedly be getting back to Monroe and the rest of the gang, although, I can do without Wu and Hank for a little longer.
So I think this has become one of favorite shows! I watched the pilot last year and then I never got a chance to watch the rest of the season but I knew I wanted to give it a shot. So me and my roommate spent the last 2 days watching the whole first season and then watching the new episode and I absolutely loved it!!! I cant wait for next week =]
I think this episode was a great start for the season, They all really did a great job! Also Nick's mom is pretty bad ass, I love how they showed some of her skills, I found myself laughing at how quickly she disappears and then out of nowhere reappears. I can't wait for the next episodes!
When the show started in Season 1, I thought ehhhhh, not bad but just so-so (this is something that happens to me all the time. Just few shows got me hooked since Season 1: House, Breaking Bad and Supernatural). I liked more Once Upon A Time, although entirely different materials. Yet each week Grimm got better and better. Loved a lot until the very last end: another "to be continued" arghhhhh! The new intro makes me feel nostalgic about Buffy *sighs*. A big no.
That will be a nice brithday present :) Well, at least it goes back to the way it was before, although I can't say it wouldn't be nice to have friday just for Fringe.
Yes, it will be bittersweet, that's for sure, but I can't wait for it. I'm really glad that they will just skip to 2036, but I'm hoping for an episode or two in 2015 :)
There wasn't any, but I would like to see how The Purge looked like, the original resistance, Observer invasion. Don't get me wrong, I believe that we will find everything about it in 2036, but it would be nice to actually see it. But it's just a wish, and I wouldn't mind if they don't do it, ofc, as long as they explain everything, and I believe they will :)
Nice to have Grimm back on! I did watch the finale though to catch up again even though it hasn't been that long since it aired.
First off, I didn't like the new opening for the show. I guess it's a nice way to recognize the main characters but I enjoyed the old intro much better.
Second, I really thought this was a great premiere and I can already see that the show has come a long way from season one premiere. It's not perfect but the writing has gotten much, much better imo.
As everyone is saying here, I agree and do not trust Nick's mom. Something is going on with her and of course, Monroe would be the first to know! I can't wait to see more scenes between Monroe and her, if she sticks around that long. I'm thinking she is only around for the first part of this early season to give Nick more info that he needs and then she will be really killed off for good.
Sounds like Monday nights are only for August. Oh well, I will juggle between Fringe and Grimm once again on Friday nights.....At least Grimm has a full season as Fringe is done after 15 episodes.
Yeah, me too. One of the many things I'm looking forward to in season 5 :) I heard about Heaven, looks like a good show. You will really have a great bday! :D
Yeah, me too! I hope it will continue in the next episode, it's headded in pretty good way lol And, ofc, I still wanna know what kind of creature is captain Renard :)
From what i can tell it look liked he was part lizard and part serpent lol idc if it's possible to have two species into one lol
I'm sensing Renard isn't happy how the royal families are treating him and i wouldn't be surprised he's one of the good guys left but pretending to be evil so he can take them down from the inside.
That's my theory of course in warehouse 13 Sasha Roiz played a baddy who worked for Walter Sykes lol
Could be, maybe some mythological creature that has two or maybe three forms. I agree with you. It will be fun to watch how it will all turn up lol He could become some kind of mole inside royal families, but I'm just guessing :)
From what i can tell there was french and german assassins who come to kill the grimm which makes me think the captain isnt with them bc he kept telling them he's got it under control and yet they still went after him lol renard never took a chance to kill nick lol
Lol, I must say that I'm most excited to find out about royal families, and I'm looking forward to find out what will relationship between Hank and Nick look like now
I finally caught up witht the show. I had previously watched the show until episode 12 or something but I wasn't that interested. It wasn't bad but among all the tv I watched, it was just lacking, so I wasn't that invested. However, the praise that I saw people giving it made me give it another try! Sooo glad I did! I watched the 2nd part of the season in like 3 days, it's when it really picks up and gets super interesting! I love the show right now! Now I have just watched 2x01 and it was really good, I think I have found another potential favorite for this tv season, its amazing! If the season is like this, it will be incredible! Will watch 2x02 now!
Tho i sensing the captain will have a crossroad and he'll have too chose which side..remember he saved Juliet which he could of let her die but he didn't, which makes me believe he's either serving someone else which might explain his double agent part if they go there. Or he wants Nick to destroy the royal families leaving him the only one remaining thus having nick and the captain facing off.
Yeah, you have a good point. Either way, I think there's some kind of conspiracy going on within the families, but I don't know if that's good or bad sign. I'm looking forward to see what captain's role is in all this, I'm hoping they will tell us in this season
Well my theory played out in Monday's episode lol As Captain got a call from a mole within the family stating they sent another assassin for the key and by the looks the mole is afraid for his life as he said if they found out he was alerted that whatever they been working on was for nothing
That thing with captain and royal families ultimately became my favourite plot in the show so far when I saw the last episode. I really like this season so far, I'm excited to see how they will finish it. It will be great, judging bay how they started it lol
Well I'm at the end of Breaking Bad's season 4, I started Game of Thrones a long time ago and I would like to catch up on it, I've been wanting to watch Oz for a long time and Dr Who ofc. and the next summer I'm rewatching Fringe, and probably Person of Interest (great show, and really complex), so that's just fo the next summer lol do you have any suggestions?
POI is premiering next week, im planning on watching season 3 of haven this friday...Gonna Totally watch Last Resort.666 park ave....Will check out Elementary after POI and see if it's worth it lol.
Can't wait for Hawaii five 0.NCIS.NCIS:LA.Criminal Minds.CSI.CSI NY.Grimm.Fringe.Blue Bloods.not happy that the mentalist will air on sundays lol
Im watching Major Crimes and Perception online and along with Mob Doctor tho ppl say it may not last long and finally Revolution and Bones....Also First half of warehouse 13 ends on 10/1/2012 but Alphas will continue to air through october.
Finally Gonna watch Summer Finale of White Collar and Covert Affairs today
Oh man, you're busy :D I'm with you on POI, The Menalist, Last Resort, Grimm, Fringe, Revolution, Bones, but others will have to wait for a while lol I'm also interested how Elemntary will turn out, it has a good premise, but I'll wait a little bit to see how it will be
I haven't seen Revolution yet lol plus i gotta see last night premiere of Haven also Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness lol, I'm also watching season 4 of The Big Bang Theory and gonna watch season 5 of Ghost Adventures.
Im decided whether or not to watch Doctor Who series that premiered in 2005 and airs on BBC.
Covert Affairs returns next month and Burn Notice in November also Flashpoint final season airs next month also lol
Well I would really like to watch Dr Who, my friend watches it and say's it's amazing, and it's scinece fiction :) Revolution was pretty good imo, and I'm hoping it would get better couse it has great potential for it. I'm also wathcing TBBT, but on season3 lol
Hm, I'm gonna wait a little bit to see how arrow does, and then I'll decide whether to watch it or not And how is Dr Who? The second episode of Revolution was pretty great, they open up a few new stories and I'm looking forward to see how it all turns out. I really hopee the show does well
So what did you think about grimm this week? :) I was staying away from the site so I would be spoiled for Fringe last night, and it was worth it, I must tell you lol
I never expected that the final season would be bout 2036 lol second episode i will see but im still hoping they would tell the backstory towards why the observers turned against mankind and why they decided they deserve to rule the world????
If they don't explain then it would be disappointing final season lol
I'm sure they will, they said that that was one of the parts where season was headed :) Grimm was good too, but I'm more excited for the next episode lol
for fringe: well, they said in episode 4x19 that the Observer's came back from future because they ruined the planet, but the producers said that it will be more explored, that we will see how it happened in 2015 :)
All we got in the beginning of both episodes were Peter and Olivia dreaming the same laying in the park with Etta when Observers suddenly started taking over!!! thats all not much says bout it's origin lol
Well it had pretty good numbers for the first time, but i'm hoping that now that people know that it really was a good premiere, they will tune in. Maybe they were beeing a little cautiuos because it's cw lol
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Great episode. Not one of my favorites though.
ReplyDeletePretty much exactly what I thought (I need more Monroe honestly)
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yeah, I missed Monroe in this one too! I loved it when Monroe said Nick's mother scared the crap out of him. lol
ReplyDeleteFantastic start to the season! I liked that they didn't waste too much time and jumped right into it, having Nick vent his feelings to his mother and that they further deepened the mystery of whatever the royal families are up to, and the mystery of the key. ReplyDelete:) I agree! Season 1 was good, but if S2 is anything near as close as was the Premiere, S2 will be amazing.I felt like watching a whole new show

One thing I'm happy about is that it's been moved to Mondays. For the first time in a long time, I have a reason to watch TV on Mondays!
ReplyDeletePretty amazing premiere. I'm so impressed by how much this show has grown... I'm so glad I gave it a second chance last year!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else hate the new intro? Too Buffyesque for my liking. But other than that, amazing!
ReplyDeleteAfter mom gets wrapped up, we'll undoubtedly be getting back to Monroe and the rest of the gang, although, I can do without Wu and Hank for a little longer.
ReplyDeletei am agree to many faces the rest was .//.OK.//.
ReplyDeleteI hated it as well, so different from last seasons intro.
ReplyDeleteSo I think this has become one of favorite shows! I watched the pilot last year and then I never got a chance to watch the rest of the season but I knew I wanted to give it a shot. It will be great when Castle and Bones join it. Monday will get pretty busy for me, but I don't mind at all.
ReplyDeleteWhen the show started in Season 1, I thought ehhhhh, not bad but just so-so (this is something that happens to me all the time. ReplyDeleteWow. I can't even remember having seen it.
ReplyDeleteDon't get to comfort with Mondays because August 27th is the last episode on Monday before Grimm returns on 9/14 with episode 4
ReplyDeleteThat will be a nice brithday present :)
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it goes back to the way it was before, although I can't say it wouldn't be nice to have friday just for Fringe.
good news tho bc Fringe will premiere week after Grimm returns on 9/21 time slot so sadly we'll have one Friday of free Fringe night lol
ReplyDeletethen battle begins but i wouldn't worry bout Grimm doing poorly because remember as sad as i am but Fringe is ending :(
Yes, it will be bittersweet, that's for sure, but I can't wait for it. I'm really glad that they will just skip to 2036, but I'm hoping for an episode or two in 2015 :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot how it ended the 2015 episode?
ReplyDeleteThere wasn't any, but I would like to see how The Purge looked like, the original resistance, Observer invasion. Don't get me wrong, I believe that we will find everything about it in 2036, but it would be nice to actually see it. But it's just a wish, and I wouldn't mind if they don't do it, ofc, as long as they explain everything, and I believe they will :)

Sounds like Monday nights are only for August. Oh well, I will juggle between Fringe and Grimm once again on Friday nights.....At least Grimm has a full season as Fringe is done after 15 episodes.
I wanna know how 2015 came to a world of destruction and chaos.
ReplyDeleteAlso im excited bc Haven is premiering on my bday as well :)
Yeah, me too. One of the many things I'm looking forward to in season 5 :)
ReplyDeleteI heard about Heaven, looks like a good show. You will really have a great bday! :D
I was having my doubts on watching haven but once i saw the pilot i fell in love with it lol Especially Emily Rose she's hot lol
ReplyDeleteIf only fringe would premiere on my bday then it would of been epic :), sadly it will be week after my bday >.< lol
but my last yr bday was amazing bc Criminals and CSI premiered lol
It's close enough ;) Especially when you consider my bday lol
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have bday in semptember, always have a reason more to celebrate :)
Hell ya that's why i lost my bday in September, getting shows to premiere lol
ReplyDeleteBTW Hawaii Five 0 premieres on 9/23 lol
I'm still waiting on the back-story on what caused the royal families to hate the Grimm and start killing them
Yeah, me too! I hope it will continue in the next episode, it's headded in pretty good way lol
ReplyDeleteAnd, ofc, I still wanna know what kind of creature is captain Renard :)
From what i can tell it look liked he was part lizard and part serpent lol idc if it's possible to have two species into one lol
ReplyDeleteI'm sensing Renard isn't happy how the royal families are treating him and i wouldn't be surprised he's one of the good guys left but pretending to be evil so he can take them down from the inside.

Could be, maybe some mythological creature that has two or maybe three forms.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. It will be fun to watch how it will all turn up lol
He could become some kind of mole inside royal families, but I'm just guessing :)
It was funny to see him turn fully red like a volcano and then end up stone cold and finally getting his skin color back lol
ReplyDeleteAre they like more then one royal family?
Well, I hope so. Maybe we will se some kind of conflict between them, too.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if we saw a new world war in Portland lol
From what i can tell there was french and german assassins who come to kill the grimm which makes me think the captain isnt with them bc he kept telling them he's got it under control and yet they still went after him lol renard never took a chance to kill nick lol
ReplyDeletemaybe he's from another royal family, or something else entirely lol
ReplyDeleteguess will have to wait and see :)
The writers always makes us want to crave for more and by golly they are lol
ReplyDeleteLol, I must say that I'm most excited to find out about royal families, and I'm looking forward to find out what will relationship between Hank and Nick look like now
ReplyDeleteHank took like a man lol and really glad nick stopped him from telling the captain or else the captain would of had to get rid of hank lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, I liked his reaction too. It would be cool if Hank and Nick became partners in Nick's grimm business lol
ReplyDeleteIm sure thats where they heading lol
ReplyDeleteI finally caught up witht the show. I had previously watched the show until episode 12 or something but I wasn't that interested. It wasn't bad but among all the tv I watched, it was just lacking, so I wasn't that invested. However, the praise that I saw people giving it made me give it another try! Sooo glad I did! Now I have just watched 2x01 and it was really good, I think I have found another potential favorite for this tv season, its amazing! If the season is like this, it will be incredible! Will watch 2x02 now!
ReplyDeleteI remember chatting with you before. Glad it worked out! I had pretty much the same reaction.
ReplyDeleteYes, you were one of the people who told me to go on, I also remember it! Very good advice, thanks! Remind me to listen to you in the future!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's much better than Hank being angry with Nick, and I'm glad that they didn't go that way
ReplyDeleteTho i sensing the captain will have a crossroad and he'll have too chose which side..remember he saved Juliet which he could of let her die but he didn't, which makes me believe he's either serving someone else which might explain his double agent part if they go there. ReplyDeleteIt started out with the captain playing to take out nick but now it sounds like he's working an angle here.
ReplyDeleteYes, looks like he should be Nick's enemy, but he's actually helping him in some way, at least I think so lol
ReplyDeleteGrrr i hate when writers leave us hanging lol i wanna know now!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I agree with you, can't wait to see what's going on :D
ReplyDeleteNow we gotta wait till 9/28 to see what happens lol
ReplyDeleteI know, can't wait!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Fringe starts 9/28, so it's going to be freaking amazing lol

So what did you think about grimm this week? :)
ReplyDeleteI was staying away from the site so I would be spoiled for Fringe last night, and it was worth it, I must tell you lol
I never expected that the final season would be bout 2036 lol second episode i will see but im still hoping they would tell the backstory towards why the observers turned against mankind and why they decided they deserve to rule the world????
ReplyDeleteIf they don't explain then it would be disappointing final season lol
I'm sure they will, they said that that was one of the parts where season was headed :)
ReplyDeleteGrimm was good too, but I'm more excited for the next episode lol
For which show lol
ReplyDeletefor fringe: well, they said in episode 4x19 that the Observer's came back from future because they ruined the planet, but the producers said that it will be more explored, that we will see how it happened in 2015 :)
ReplyDeletewas that a spoiler for last friday episode of fringe lol
ReplyDeleteNo, don't worry lol
ReplyDeleteThat was said in the last season :)
mhmm i barely recall lol, all i know this final season is bout saving the world from observers lol
ReplyDeleteYep, that's the main plot lol
ReplyDeleteAll we got in the beginning of both episodes were Peter and Olivia dreaming the same laying in the park with Etta when Observers suddenly started taking over!!! thats all not much says bout it's origin lol
ReplyDeleteyeah, and we have 11 more episode to go, so i'm not gonna say anything until i watch them :)
ReplyDeleteAre you excited bout ARROW and CHICAGO FIRE??? tonight lol
ReplyDeleteYeah! I will probably watch Arrow, looks like a good show :)
ReplyDeleteQuestions remains tho will it live to Smallville Season Lifeline lol 10 years Smallville lived before it died at the hands of CW lol
ReplyDeleteWell it had pretty good numbers for the first time, but i'm hoping that now that people know that it really was a good premiere, they will tune in. Maybe they were beeing a little cautiuos because it's cw lol
ReplyDeletelol..i wonder if he'll wear sun glasses like oliver did in smallville lol
ReplyDeleteLOL, he looks rather different to me, but I think the Arrow did an amazing job in the premiere, looking forward to new episodes
ReplyDeleteYa i agree. tho im sure it would have more then 4 million viewers if Justin Hartley was reprising his role lol
ReplyDeleteLOL, maybe :)
ReplyDeleteBut nonetheless, I'm hoping it will get more viewers, premiere was awesome
If CW can market it properly then we good lol
ReplyDeletewell I hope they can, it's a great show for now :)
