  1. There was absolutely no way that evil harnessed chick's kiss leaving a guy unconscious for *that* long was going to be good. And the little parasite thingie climbing out of Hal's eye and into his ear was shiver worthy. :-)

Who are these new guys? The Overlord's bosses? I'd initially thought they were connected with the thing they blew up. (For some reason I had the impression that they blew up one of many of that type of weapon.) The creature design looked a little like the skitters. so could they be friends?

The end of the first season I was just about ready to blow the series off because Tom was so incredibly stupid to get on that ship. This season has kept in interested, intrigued and looking forward tot he next ep. This finale has me might curious about the next season.

  2. Awesome finale! Bummer that Dai bit the dust, but no big surprise since he really wasn't much of a factor/feature this season. Really sorry that Red Eye was killed, as it would've made for interesting material with the arrival of the "new aliens" to have a known ally shed some light on whether the new arrivals are friends or foe... You had to figure that Karen had infected/implanted Hal with something as cute as she is, I don't think kissing someone unconscious was one her new abilities... I do wonder if any of the rebel skitters made it and will be around as there was at least one that survived the attack on the weapon.... Great close for the season and am looking forward to next season..

  3. A little underwhelming for me. It seemed to take too long to get to the mission and then the mission just... I don't know... didn't astound me as I had hoped. Anne being pregnant was obvious, Hal being infected with something was obvious, Red Eye dying was obvious.

Hopefully something cool can come out of these new aliens next season. I assumed they would be called by that satellite looking thing that the 2nd Mass blew up, maybe the overlords (what were their actual names?) got off a signal. If next season makes as many steps to improve as Season 2 did on Season 1, then we should be pretty close to a pretty good show!

I think the new aliens are definitely enemies of the overlords. That's y they built the cannon. Not to defeat the humans or rebel skitters but to protect themselves from these new aliens coming from the sky that's y the cannon was aiming up at it. So im betting with that logic they are definitely an enemy to the overlords but not sure yet on the humans could go either way. Hopefully ally's becauses that's what they could use right now lol. But also im thinking maybe their like advanced skitters maybe from 1000's of years from it turned rebels who r joining the fight.

  5. actually I didn't expect them to kill off Red Eye. I thought he was going to "be part of the team' next season. I knew he was going to do the big rescue bit at the end of the mission, but I didn't expect them to kill him off.

  6. I was kind of surprised that Anne and Tom didn't immediately figure Karen had done something to him. But then I thought that they had him in a very private room (the hospital looks more like a ward) so maybe it did occur to them)

I figure the rebel skitters will be around next season (wouldn't really make sense to me if they weren't) my theory is that Ben will become the rebel skitter leader.

  7. I think were looking at the start of the Humans entering a intergalatic war, and they might just be the winning bullet against the oppresive overlords.

  8. I like the Ben as rebel leader idea... as it looked like that a few skitters survived the mission, I'd hate to think that was it was far as the revolution goes (skitterwise) and Ben is a much more interesting character as a rebel leader/liaison. You gotta figure that he and Hal are gonna bump heads a'plenty next season now that Hal is possessed or whatever.. lol

  9. Maybe it was a lucky guess then but I honestly didn't expect Red Eye to last this long so I figured he'd die in the finale.

  10. I think the new alien's are what skitter's looked like pre-harnessing. Remember the harnesses changes the wearers genetic make-up....

  11. OH!!!! You're right! AWESOME!!!!

  12. Actually I hope the possessed Hal doesn't last long. It's too easy. I was happy they avoided it with Tom. And I'm irked that they didn't check Hal over for anything like that when they got back.

  13. the new guy had what looked more like a "mouth", I wonder if it will be able to speak.

  14. Yeh. Anne assures everyone "We'll be keeping a close eye on him." Then everyone promptly leaves. That made little sense seeing as how he was obviously 'hurt' somehow by a harnessed kid doing the overlord's bidding. They seemed surprisingly unconcerned. Then he wok up alone. Good job keeping a close eye on the unconscious guy. :/ Other than that, it was a very effective finale. Already wondering what's in store for season 3.

  15. I think that the war is not earth bound anymore. They have hit the overlords terribly considering how the fishhead they killed was not just a military leader but a hard drive as well (also, the only copy - no back up). I guess they have yet to learn the importance of data security. You either hold the data and stay at one place surrounded by the best security 24-7 or you leave the data to someone else and go around managing everything else. You try to do both, then you expose yourself to things like what happened at the end of the season finale.

My thinking is that the overlords have gone to several worlds before coming to skitters and humans. They have made some enemies and waged some wars. They also said that they have a task on Earth after which they would let them go (or something to that effect; I don't remember the exact words). So I am guessing that they don't want to make Earth their home or something like that. I think they have some bigger problems than just where to live.

It is obvious that the new aliens that we see are enemies of the overlords since the new weapon was being built to shoot at something above and the timing of the arrival clearly means that it was meant for them (or a clever misdirection which I don't think is the case.) Either way, while we can be fairly certain that they are enemies of the overlord, we can't say for sure that they are allies to humans. We can probably expect them to help humans out for the time being, but I don't think they have traveled several light years to help humans. They may have a rivalry with the overlords or they may have something to do with the task the overlords have with earth as well.

Some really awesome stuff has been set up for the new season, but I on the human civilization front there will be some optimism in the next season. What we saw in Charleston, while believably what WILL happen when they try to rebuild community, is not something to look forward to. We should give the 2nd Mass a reason to believe that humans can rebuild civilization again and it will be remotely livable, and seeing what we saw in Charleston would make anyone cynical of ever achieving that.

Although the season started off a little slow for me, it picked up pace remarkably at the half way mark. The show has gotten really interesting now. Does anyone know when Season 03 will start?
