Hannibal - Casting News - Lara Jean Chorostecki joins cast

Camelot actress Lara Jean Chorostecki has joined the cast of the Peacock’s upcoming Hannibal Lecter drama series in a role previously played by Stephen Lang in 1986′s Manhunter and Philip Seymour Hoffman in 2002′s Red Dragon, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Chorostecki will portray Freddie Lounds — aka Freddy Lounds, the sleazy tabloid reporter played by Lang and Hoffman on the big screen — in NBC’s contemporary take on the characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon novel.

Such a strong cast for this, I wish it was another network than NBC though as I feel like it would have a better chance.

I know. I feel the same way. Great cast and the story could be good. But wrong network. I really really hope it is gonna be good.

God I really want this show to be good and survive. The cast is promising, it's from the same guy as 'Pushing Daisies' and 'Dead Like Me' and it's about Graham and Lecter's early days. But it's NBC and I'm not sure if people want to see someone who isn't Hopkins as Lecter.
