Grey's Anatomy - Season 9 - Alex to get a big storyline

Aug 20, 2012

Grey's Anatomy's Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) hasn't had much luck in the love department since being abandoned by wife Izzie — and when Season 9 premieres, he'll still be "a dog sleeping around," says creator Shonda Rhimes. But not for long.

"This is the season I want to see Alex find true love — his person to land with," adds Rhimes. It's also possible Rhimes will delve into the character's dark childhood and finally introduce his abusive, drug-addict father.

  1. Fuck yes! I've been waiting for Alex - my favorite character - to get this type of storyline for years. I cannot fucking wait for this!

And I resent the implication that Alex hasn't found true love yet, Shonda - That was Izzie. But I'll take someone he's with permanently, I guess.

Now can we get more info on how Mer is gonna be coping with sister's death, husband's hand, working fulltime and raising a child and losing her person for a few episode's. damn that sounds way to busy.

  3. Really not that interested, mostly because I find that the non-romantic relationships to be much, much more interesting, especially where Alex is concerned.

  4. I feel like we've already tried this with Alex more than once with less than stellar results and instead more whining bad choice angst. Alex's never really shown any redemptive character to make him worthy of a noncrazy girl.

  6. It's about time! I've been waiting for Alex to find some happiness for eight seasons, and I'm excited by the prospect of finding out more about how he became the person he is, too.

  8. Have you forgotten the part where Arizona is a lesbian? She is not bisexual like Callie is.

  12. After 8 seasons, yeah. About time. He's been oddly sidelined for the bulk of the show.

  15. Really interested in meeting his father and seeing more about his childhood.

  16. Lucy backstabbed him and stole his job in Africa. Who wants a girlfriend like that?

  17. I don't think it is April. They seem to have earmarked April for Jackson. It could be that new girl intern they are introducing, being played by Camilla Luddington.

  18. About time the guy gets a decent storyline, cause we've been seing very little of him since Izzie, especially considering he's one of the original 5. I actually thought he and that intern who lost her baby (Morgan?) would end up together, they were kind of cute.
