  22. I think it's Etta in the car that Loyalist stopped, if I can see her correctly in the mirror.
And there's also a scene of someone reaching for something, and Peter holding two guns.

  24. Oh,Josh's face,is a mixture of determination & anger,add a little annoyance and that's their you have it!

  25. It makes sense that it would be, since we know he had wondered/looked that way before, but the body type to me looks a bit different than John Nobles (but it's really hard to tell so it could very well be Walter), so I am wondering if it's a character set to parallel him?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol,there you go again blowing my mind!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are definitely not the only one.;-) I would like to see little Etta and her interaction with Olivia and Peter too.

  28. Ok don't usually post comments but this is bugging me. That first picture, the device looks an awful lot like the device December gave September in the Season 4 premier to erase Peter with.. coincidence.. maybe but this is Fringe everything has a meaning ;D

  29. You're right, they do look a lot alike, and there's three of them in this promo, if I'm not wrong, and they are a little bit longer, but maybe because September only needed to erase traces of Peter in season 4. To erase a hole person, they may need a bigger and stronger device.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Amazing! All that new footage looks brilliant. And Sept 28th is my birthday - the new season of Fringe is the perfect bday present!

me too i want more little etta scenes too

    ReplyDelete
  32. Nice birthday present!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good catch Emma, and I agree with both of you!

I suspect that perhaps September has been trying to help all along (both timelines) since finally they allowed us to understand that Observers have past, present, and future versions of themselves too!

I keep hoping that there were things in season 4 set up to relate to things in season 5. This might surely be one of them (:

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with you, I think that we are yet to fully understand what happened in season 4.
We know, or at least we presume, that Observers wanted to erase Peter because of Etta, because she will be important in bringing them down. But we didn't see September nor December in 2036, so they could've been recieving commands from the Observers who are yet to come from future - their future versions, like you said. So I think that the events from S4 will have a huge importance.
What I'm even more interested in is how Bell connects with all of this.

I don't know if any of this makes any sense, but it's one of my many thoughts for season 5 ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. My theory is that other versions of Bell and Walter are the original creators of the Observers...I think there are themes about these characters trying not to be "criminal" in their pursuits in science (in life extension- Frankenstein references), because they once were -and now we see that they have to be the ones to create fringe events making them act the like the scientist and theological terrorists that we have seen (ZFT, The End of Dayers, ect) -It is always Bells work (his manifesto) and Massive Dynamics achievements that get used in crime, whether directily or second hand, the source is Bell's. He is always Mr. X.

I also believe that all the fringe events relate to repeated events in other time lines that also represent the Observers creation. http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=23330

I kind of hope some of them have our characters DNA...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well, we already know that the Observers are one of our possible futures, maybe not in this future, but some alternate one, and maybe Walter and Bell created them there. It would be interesting if Walter, their original creator, destroyed Observers at the end. It will not be the first time that Fringe conradicts itself in some way, which is actually one of the things that I like very much about this show.
And if the two of them created Observers, they must've had a good reason to do so. It could be that, in the beginning, they did it for some personal problems (like when Walter opened a door to the other universe to save Peter), so I wouldn't be suprised if they had a stronger connection to our main characters (DNA, as you suggested). Maybe that's why September always does things in thier behalf.
I vaguely recall that Wyman mentioned in one of his interviews that in S5 we will finally understand why fringe events are actually happening, so I agree with you that they have a big connection to the Observers.

  37. Ok, repear after me : I WANT SEASON 5 NOOOOOOOW !
It's hard to say that this mid-season will be the last one, I'm gonna miss them when it will be over but let's enjoy this season first ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Actually people always get confused with this, but the Observers have already been created and thus the future they are from/created is PAST. You can't exist with out an origin.

You see if you have multiple time lines, especially if they are made from previous time lines, then you get into situations where you have multiple of every date...So there can eventually be inifinate of any date say even 2036 (which may or may not be relative to any other 2036/other time periods). So it is about which 2036 came first in relation to any other time, because the future isn't about the date, but when something exists verses any other existence. Time doesn't exist. TIMING does. It's about event history. The future is where any one thing is going, not necessarily when it is. With time travel, my future can even lie in a past date of any time line and have potential to create a branch off alternate time line (given no strong course correction) from that point on. Depending on if time lines like the rest of life is actually in motion, could get tricky, because one time lines most current time, may not be another's most current and then when you add time travel into the mix you keep having potential to make alternate time lines, you don't necessarily "erase" a time line, but create a new one from certain points. So if an iteration 1-A is currently at 2042 and iteration 1-B is currently at 1984, there's no garentee that 1-B's up and coming 2042 is going to be the same as iteration 1-A's 2042, but regardless iterations, 1-A's 1984 is already their past and also may not reflect 1-B's 1984...only if they are a family of universes would this be different (like in fringe), but even so uncertainty principal and the law of averages will eventually kick in to create brand new things.

In Fringe we understand from "The Day We Died" (and comic "Peter and the Machine") that the season 1-3 timeline is trying to avoid repeating a future that had already occurred in some previous iteration. The comic book better explains by having Peter view the memories of and meet another version of himself, that "Peters" have been taking the machine parts back in various time periods in various time lines for many many iterations.

There might be a reason though 2015 in this specific time line was chosen to go back an alter. It's possible that s4 was a past iteration until Peter alter's it, let alone that John Mosley and Jessica Holt may show us temporal cold war and thus things could be alternating all the time with out our knowing it, but maybe this time line needs rearranged most of all, because it was the Observer origin time line at some point, prior to all of these alterations (so they are protecting their existence, because maybe their is an unknown limitation to preserving this time period)

  39. I wish we could sit down face to face over some coffee and talk this stuff, I could go on for hours about this type of theorizing. I love time travel. We need some graphs, and diagrams to fully explain it, but I am on board with you DL!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I was about to say almost the same thing,lol... Just finished reading all of it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You're invited too. :) The limitations of the keyboard and internet are not adequate to express my thoughts coherently about what I think is going on in Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'll be there! :) My limitations is my brain, boy, lately i swear if it wasn't screwed on i'd lose it!! :P The new meds the doc has me on are like the last ones, make me well....a little loopy to say the least. Hoping tomorrow when i go back she will give me something else to try?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ok so you bring the "party favors", we'll dilute the loopiness with the coffee, and work on our mind muscles with the Fringe talk. Who's got the private jet to get us all in the same place?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sounds good to me! Now for the plane?

I really do wish we all could all get together,i already feel like we have known each for years! I already told Darth that if i won the lottery i would take her to Vancouver to visit the cast and crew. You are invited to, if i win that is!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just don't plat "THE" numbers. The numbers are bad, dude!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah,i think i heard that somewhere before,lol... :)

  47. I love coffee, but I really could use a drink after that post! But ya it would be so fun to sit down with you guys! -Something tells me though, we already have! (;

  48. Ya, make sure you pack those too! :p

  50. Bottle is almost empty! We'll see what she gives me tomorrow, woohoo! Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hey drinks work too, although I only see it getting more loopy and timey-wimey after a few of those.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You said everything that I think about time travel and generally about time, but you know how to put it in words pretty darn good ;D

Well, when Peter was erased naturally everything was altered, and then we went to 'amber timeline' (which was created for Peter not to exist in it), which was again altered when Peter got back, and again when Olivia remebered her life wth Peter. We don't know what would've happened if Peter never came back, but I think that this amber timeline and timeline from S1-S3 are connected in some stronger way than other alteranate timelines - because you have Peter and Olivia who are from both timelines and remeber it, while the others don't remeber their S1-S3 versions, and therefore alternations are invitable, they happen all the time. It is possible that this is Observers' original timeline, as you said, and it's logical that they are protecting it and themselfs.
But you have another possibility - maybe they are running from their original timeline because they ruined it (2609 A.D., as Walter said), and they're invaiding our timeline, and therefore trying to survive. Maybe that's way they needed to erase Peter - to prepare the 'amber' timeline for their invasion.
But then again, it's just a theory :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. We don't know for sure if the amber time was "specifically" created for him to not exist, or if it was a time line that already existed where the observers didn't anticipate that he would materialize/exist, because they were trying to rid him of all time....It may be because of the way Observers exist in time their definition of even a time line is not exactly accurate to how we might attempt to receive time. We don't know how they measure it, out side of frequency signature -the time line Peter left should still exist, so it's curious that the Observers would also now be "here" talking about him, as if it were all the same.

What you're saying in your last paragraph might become all in the same, because even the time line they were created, humans already existed too, because humans created them. But Even with the Observers and "observer effect" with the way they can travel to any time in existence, they may be causing alterations and reciprocity all the time.
With the way Walter worded what happened to the Observers, we aren't sure if the future they came from was "their" original time line of origin and time traveled back to "their" 2015...but IMO it seems most likely -and that right there proves this amber time line had once existed prior to Peter's arrival and Peter's own timeline...I always wondered if in the time line of the Observers, if Peter was originally a clone of Walter and a big step in creating the Observers?????

  54. OMG!!!! Etta is so cute. I can't wait for the final season to start

    ReplyDelete
  55. (o)j(o) oh hells yeah. i want some more fringe now!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm sorry, I have to correct myself, I used the wrong word - let's say that the amber timeline was the one were Peter shouldn't exist, not created for Peter to not exist. You're right, we don't know if it already existed, before S1-S3 timeline :D

I think that Observer's perception of time has a big part in alternations. Like Brandon said in S2, they do 'observe' time, and therefore exist in past, present and future - and their alternations - simultaneously. One of the main rules among the Observers is not to get involved, but of course, as we've seen that rule was broken a lot of times. And that caused and still causes alternations practically all the time.
We already know that all of the people from amber timeline are the ones from S1-S3 timeline, but only Olivia and Peter can remeber it. So the two timelines are intervened on a different leven than, for instance, the one where Peter destroyed alt-universe with machine and the one when Walter originaly created the machine. And maybe, but just maybe, we are not talking about alternate timelines. This amber timeline and S1-S3 timeline could be anomalies on their own. Maybe we are talking about different dimensions of the same timeline, and that's because Observers are 'here' talking about Peter in the same way, as you said in your first paragraph.
But it's just a theory, I don't know if it makes any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Actually all the people from the 1-3 time line are different except some of the Observers, Peter, and now Olivia...In some cases history repeats, but we also see things new...Jones working for Bell not on his own and existing a bit longer, Two Ninas, new shapeshifters, creating a new world by eliminating the others, ect...

It's not that the characters don't remember who they were, as much as Peter brought Olivia's conscience to him and she replaced the current Olivia, as the amber-former's memories are starting to fade.

But having Peter return at this time allows for us to see both the role shifts (Walternate is no longer the enemy, he could accept his loss, because Peter wasn't just stolen, but also died) allowing for us to get underneath the truth of these realities that problem really lies with William Bell and all of the Bells knowledge. Additionally he is able to have Walter become closer to the season 1-3 Walter suggesting this nice idea that the blue universe made him a better person in his time line (Walter's abduction) and now he is making another blue Walter a better person (with Olivia I think it's more complicated, because I am not sure if this Olivia was really worse in any way), let alone his absence in his teen-young adult years gave us better red characters too!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just finished reading you theory on ethereal plane thouroughly, and I'm glad that you had also stressed the importance of 'The road Not Taken' and 'Lysergic Acid Diethylamide'. I've always thought that those two episodes have some stronger refferences to season 4 and Observers' invasion - Walter's explanation of deja vu and even Emmanuel Grayson's conspiracy theories, and in 4x19 a lot of things are presented which were going to be resolved in S4, so in both episodes you have things that are connected through alternate timelines. Especially in Olivia's subconsciusness (which represents nine tenths of our mind, according to Freud - a little digression), when she "predicts" something that will happen in future in another reality. So I think it's pretty safe to say that the amber timeline did exist even before S4.

Nevertheless, It was great to read your theory! You said some things that I didn't even consider before. You're pretty amazing in catching and deciphering little details ;D
