  1. Great title! It makes me a little bit nervous, although.
Hope it doesn't refer to any of the main characters.
Can't wait for season to start!

  4. Fringe has never been a show with a lot of obvious titles. I'm still holding out hope that they'll title one of this season's episodes "Scarlie shows up and kills a bunch of baldies."

  5. Of course, two episodes before that, they'd find another gang of bald people and you don't know if it is referring to them or the Observers.

  6. Heh. You're probably right. Fringe is always throwing curveballs.

  7. As in what happened when they were missing?? Will are questions about who raised Etta, and her past be answered? How Liv got seperated from the team etc. ???

  9. I should try and ask him more often about episode titles. Worked out two times. :) By the way, this title sounds very interesting. Of course the whole season is interesting, too. :D Can't wait for the season premiere... even though it's sort of bitter sweet. Last season premiere for Fringe..

  10. "In the Absence [of]" (Latin) - So we are going to be dealing with judiciary themes...Interestingly the 3rd cover for "Peter and the Machine pt 3" is this really nifty gray and black Art Noveau style cover with Peter's glowing eyes and a statue of an Observer dressed in judicial robes holding a scale and a sword.

The actual term though refers to a trail where the defendant is not "physically" present. It's about not being able to fight for your rights. (it's almost like saying we'll have a trail for the sake of looking like we care, but really this is just for the records, because the defendant has not rights)

  13. That's... a reveal. ^^ In Absentia ... a new county name? Like the observers changed the US into Absentia... However it also could be the oposite for being 'In cognito'... Interesting!

  16. I think this refers to September and that this will be a September centric (perhaps the last one) episode. I feel this will be a trial against him. let me ex[plain my theory. I wrote this on another site, but I wanted you to see it too so here it is:

I think it was said that the Observers use tech. Tech of which we have no knowledge of. So to me a nude baby observer is without his tech to quantum leap. He was put there by other Observers. I theorize that this was a way of trapping him in a certain timeline so that he would not be able to harm their future existence. In other words: Lets say September mucked it all up for the future of the Observers by interfering while Observing the past. He made a mistake (saving Red Peter), and this mistake ruined the 2609 future of the Observers (causing them to have to jump ship on that timeline). So first the Badsevers went back into ole Sept’s past to abduct him as a child (creating a separate timeline for that September, and the future Observers at that point on), meanwhile Adult September ( from his original timeline) is still jumping around in time trying to right his mistake. The Badservers take little Sept and lock him down underground trying to rewrite their timeline. At the end of Inner Child we see adult September Observing Child September being carted off to somewhere He seems pretty surprised to see this. It is at this point he realizes that something is off, and makes it his purpose to follow the Fringe team to find out what is going on.December and the other months are all from the original Observer timeline they are also trying to salvage their future, they are keeping tabs on Adult September. John Mosley is from the future of the amber Timeline probably 2036, he is a rouge agent from the side of the Badservers he was trying to locate the beacon to prevent The science team Observers ( the months) from accessing the Blue timeline anymore. His mission was to put a halt to any more meddling that they would do. We know that Mosley failed, so point went to the science team Observers, but the timeline was still showing a dismal future for the race of Observers as a whole, so December continued to have September to try to fix his mistake. This in turn led to the whole Peter/machine plot. The Months needed Peter to go into the machine and choose balance so that the universes would bridge and Peter would re-write the timeline into the amber timeline, thus ceasing to exist, and giving the race of Observers a second chance at a future.Adult September must have looked into the future and seen the trouble (Badservers) realizing that without Peter he cannot Prevent the inevitable, so he allowed Peter to re-materialize into the Amber timeline wherein he was not supposed to exist anymore. This led to Amber-Olivia realizing her purpose and powers whilst getting a full download of the Blue Olivia’s memories to save the universe as we saw in the season 4 finale. This in turn led to the conception of Etta who is probably going to be a huge problem for the Badservers.Charlotte from LOST AKA Wacky-Eyes McGee was like John Mosley, she was sent back to try to capture September again after the beacon again didn’t hold him thanks to Peter.I believe we will see what happens to September (that was so terrible) in this season very early on (I think this episode). I think we will see the Badservers abduct the young September imprison him in the past of the blue timeline, and then charge him with some crime and put him to death as an adult in the amber timeline sometime around 2015. I also believe the child Version will have grown up to be the second iteration of September we saw in the stasis runes. He was clueless to what was going on at that point remember. So In Absentia Little September is found guilty of sedition, thus Adult original September will be put to death in his place. What do you all think?

  17. I especially agree and like the second paragraph! --and obviously I do think September may be high lighted here for all the reason's you said! --But I also think that Peter often mirrors both September, Walter, and even a little of Bell in terms of abilities and that idea that even our Peter has previous criminal intent prior to joining the season 1-3 blue Fringe division, so I could see the episode deal with that somehow too since it is September that leads to the events that cause Peter to actually use the machine (he gives Olivia the prophecy page which chain reacts in creating a situation where Olivias are switched and Henry is born and his DNA used)...But also there is the amberverse talk of "erasing" Peter in a time line where no adult Peter's exist, is then also a reflection of an idea of Peter(s) being "in absence" from both time lines (just at different points) until he materializes, but this could be the whole season arc, exploring justification and criminology. It's also crossed my mind what if the whole time the Observers have been punishing our characters for what past versions of themselves did?

A future September has already come back to alter before the stasis ruin September "acts", it suggests that a loop has to be in progress, because we witness a version where he alters something, since the current stasis ruin September doesn't know, that he has done this. The time line is in the process of either altering within itself or creating a new branch off, maybe that is why 2015 is chosen, -Etta is a threat, because Peter and [blue] Olivia having a child they edgily never have is the key to their defeat. (but why and if Henry is really "bad" considering the set up for the machine, I don't know, unless that is September's opinion, because maybe Henry "was" the key in their existence (The comic also alludes that other Henry's have already exists as Peter unknowingly meets an older version while flashing through time with September)?!

  18. I also realized that this could relate to Etta missing her parents and Olivia missing from 2036...
