Continuum - Picked up by a US network airing in January

26 Aug 2012

It was revealed today at Fan Expo than Continuum has been picked up by a major US network and will be airing starting January, season 1 and 2 will air back to back in the US (like Lost Girl did on SyFy). Which network? hasn't been announced yet but i'd guess SyFy.

  2. I'd be at least a little surprised if Syfy picked this up because they've got a similar show in development already (a pilot has been ordered) called "Rewind."

  4. "Continuum" is a show that appears to love mysteries--and leaving it's fans in the dark until the very last minute. The producers enjoy teasing the fans with little snippets of info, as if they're dragging out a storyline. So, we only get that there will be a U.S. airing, but not who will be airing it. While there is a strong logic to the SyFy channel, I'm hoping it's a premium cable channel--so the writers will have more creative freedom on storylines, themes, and visual images.

No matter: I'm ecstatic that "Continuum" is Coming to America.

  5. I'm going to be really sad if SyFy picks this up to replace Eureka. I know it isn't a one-to-one correlation, but seeing Continuum in Eureka's spot would really feel like they canceled great to air cheap crap, and good business or not it still hurts.

  8. IMO Rewind is different enough to Continuum for them to co-exist on SyFy

That said I love Continuum but am also really looking forward to Rewind and hoping it's not so much like Seven Days that it feels like I've seen it before - good cast though.

  10. If season 1 and 2 will air back to back it means season 2 will premiere in March or April... :D

  11. Except for creative, unique storytelling, charismatic leads, writing, humor, and acting talent. And even with Eureka's off the wall science and multiple universe switches it at least the underlying premise was acceptable and most of the science plausible. She goes back 60 years into the past and can't figure out how anything works doesn't even know what the CIA was? The jokes on Continuum fall flat, Rachel Nichols has no personality and can't act, and the premise is completely ridiculous given the time frame they chose to work with.
