On Labor Day, A&E premieres Coma, its four-hour, two-night medical thriller starring Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose as a medical student who suspects there’s a reason why patients at her hospital are falling into a coma during routine surgeries. Based on the best-selling 1977 novel by Robin Cook (which Michael Crichton adapted into a 1978 film), the miniseries was penned by Black Swan‘s John J. McLaughlin and costars Ellen Burstyn, James Woods, Geena Davis, Richard Dreyfuss, and Rescue Me‘s Steven Pasquale.
