The Office - Season 9 - Jake Lacy becomes new regular

Jul 28, 2012

Better With You actor Jake Lacy is joining NBC’s The Office as a series regular next season.

Not a whole lot is known about Lacy’s role, but sources say he’ll play a new hire named Pete who’s also a potential love interest for Erin (Ellie Kemper). In describing his new gig to a cute barista in a rough-draft scene, Pete quips, “Not only am I the new guy who has to do the coffee runs, but it’s a paper company, so pretty much a non-stop adrenaline rush.”

  1. Love interest for Erin ? Even though she and Andy are a couple since episode 8.19 ? I think Ellie Kemper is great but I hated Erin and Andy's will they/won't they, far worse than Jim/Pam. And one of the only satisfactions of season 8 (they finally got together) is now possibly put in question, that sucks.

And yet Greenblatt has the guts to say that it was "time to freshen"... Community. This Office addition and this storyline smell like rotten to me.

  2. New love interest for Erin? She's just go back with Andy for what, the second time?! Just let it go already...

  3. Really a new love interest for Erin? Just leave Erin and Andy together.

  4. With the expected departures of Mindy and possibly Rain in the near future, it's not a surprise that they might try to get some replacements, but I'm not so sure about the possible storyline of getting another love interest for Erin after all the misfire on the Andy/Erin stuff last season I'd rather them just leave that alone and concentrate on writing scenarios that would work and perhaps focus on the cast they already have on hand....

  5. I love him and I miss Better With You (still bitter about the cancellation), so I'm happy about this. Keep Erin away from Andy, please!

  6. As much as I've loved The Office over the years (which is a requirement living in Scranton) - it's time to say good bye. It's no longer must watch tv and going south fast. Get Michael Scott back for one last episode and somehow move on with the show.
