  1. If you asked me after Season 5 of Supernatural, I would've picked Supernatural. But given the past 2 seasons, I have to pick House.

    Then, I'll pick Smallville.

  2. Supernatural and Veronica Mars. I love Smallville but had to go the other way on this one.

  3. Going with House M.D and Veronica Mars, because both shows are INFINITELY superior in comparison to their competition.

  4. Supernatural and Smallville.

First one was very easy.House is a good show, but I kinda lost interest in it a few years back.
The second poll was much harder as I really like both shows.Smallville has an edge because it had a proper ending.

  5. Supernatural. 'Nuff said! :)

  6. Easy voting today, SPN is always first with me and Veronica Mars is one of the three series that hooked me with the pilot. SPN & Roswell are the other 2. I did enjoy Smallville, but could not compare with Logan/Veronica to me.

  7. Its easy for me today,House its the only show out of the four that i've watched.

  8. This was very easy for me. Supernatural and Smallville.

  9. Supernatural for me because it piss me off and make me love it at the same time.

  10. Veronica is probably gonna get her azz whooped by Smallville today, but I will at least have done my part on her behalf - great great character and show. I miss her terribly.

Never seen either Supernatural or House beyond a couple eps, so no vote in that one.

  11. Supernatural is the only show to capture and keep my attention for 7 years - more than Buffy or The X-Files which were previously my TV champs. The story of the Winchester brothers and their battle over evil has consistently moved me and I have yet to find a show that mixes comedy and dram, often in the same episode, better. It's been the show I look forward to the most for 7 years now and my only can't-miss, appointment TV during the regular season. I look forward to seeing what it does in season 8 on Wednesdays. #SPN for 10!

When Veronica Mars aired, St. Louis did not have UPN so I missed it. Then I came to SpoilerTV 2 years ago and heard so much about it in this contest. I had to try it for myself and it was one of the few shows that lived up to the hype. Thanks you Netflix. Veronica was a great character - her dad even better. If you too missed this show when it aired, I highly recommend it.

  12. When are we going to get more SPN polls? I can only watch 7 seasons of SPN, just so often this summer. lol On S4 for the 3rd time.

I will add my agreement on VM, that is an awesome series, loved Veronica, Logan and her dad.

  13. I completely agree with your whole first paragraph and while we can all agree to differ over what we personally like and don't like about the various episodes, there is no doubting the uniqueness of the show.

I just wish more people would give to a try, without prior predjudice, but just sit down and watch it, preferably from the first episode; for if they do, I'm they too would be drawn into the Winchester's world.

  14. The first poll was incredibly easy - Supernatural 100%. Despite the direction the show took when it changed showrunners after season 5, I've remained an enthusiastic fan. I think it's entirely too underappreciated, and has a brilliant cast and fantastic writers. After seven years, I haven't managed to lose interest at all. House, on the other hand, gets on my nerves, probably due to House himself. He's so grating to me, and I can't get through more than an episode at a time.

The second poll was a little more difficult. I was a huge fan of both shows, but it came down to an interesting question: Do I vote for the show that was brilliant but cut short before its time? Or do I vote for the show that I loved from the beginning but was dragged too far? In the end, I had to choose Veronica Mars. It was absolutely brilliant, with a sassy, fresh lead and a fantastic supporting cast. It was such a strong show from beginning to (tragically early) end.

  15. We will continue our polls for best Supernatural episode the day after the winner of this contest is crowned. We will most likely not stop the episode contest for the character poll because I would like to have the best episode crowned before season 8 begins and that will not happen if we stop.
While you are rewatching start pulling your favorite quotes and scenes since those will be nominated as we go for the big winter hiatus contest.

  16. I have a notebook handy for quotes and scenes. I am bored, guess I could go out and mow. lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. Easy for me today. My 2 favorite series against 2 other series that I enjoyed a lot at times, but weren't so much my favorites.

    SUPERNATURAL + VERONICA MARS FTW.

  18. I don't go out on any night that Supernatural is on. Has been this way for the last 7 years and I don't see any change in Supernatural night plans! I've been late to work for Supernatural! Took DVDs to work with my laptop so I could have coffee with the Winchesters in the morning!

  19. SuperNatural and Smallville r amazing shows.... Even though Smallville went off the air:( SuperNatural is one of the best shows, but now i love TVD.... Sam and Dean will still be my favorite brothers....Veronica Mars was good too, but i was never really a fan of it,the show was kinda weird to me..... Iv'e never watched House before.....

  20. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and all, but more than Buffy? Sorry, champ, Buffy has yet to be topped as quality TV. SN might have its fanbase, but its nowhere near the level of complexity, depth and quality of btvs.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No wavering today. Supernatural and Veronica Mars. I didn't get UPN when Veronica Mars was on, and instead found it later. But she was smart and spunky and I totally loved her (and Logan xD). I watched Smallville, but never really got invested in it and the longer it went on the more my attention waned. I ended up being much more invested in Green Arrow and Chloe than I ever was in Clark. So even though I watched Smallville longer, I wasn't a very good fan and I'd rewatch Veronica Mars anyday, so there's my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  22. In your opinion. You spend a lot of time trashing Supernatural and that's your right to your own opinion. I completely disagree and there are many shows that top Buffy in overall quality. Buffy was best in the first 3 years. It started tanking a few months before Dawn appeared with the exception of a couple of episodes and dropped into totally unwatchable when she came. Buffy and The X-Files tie for the shows I became most disillusioned by. So I guess Buffy is to me what Supernatural is to you. So champ, we have different tastes but that hardly makes your opinion superior to mine.

    ReplyDelete
  23. In the first poll I choose Supernatural,of course. But I'm divided with the other one.Veronica Mars was a brilliant show that ended too soon.Really loved it and was really mad when it was cancelled. But Smallville was an important show for a big Superman fan like me and I think it opened a door for other similar shows (Arrow),despite a really bad ending.I think I must vote for it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree with you about Buffy, but your arrogance and annoying hatred toward SPN makes me wish I wouldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Like you said, everyone has the right to their own opinion.
Supernatural is my all time favorite show,I've been watching it for the past 7 years.
On the other hand,I tried with Buffy and dropped it in the middle of season 3.That doesn't mean it's not a good show,it just means it's not for me.The same goes for you not liking Supernatural.
What someone calls "quality TV" is completely subjective.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow,I was expecting Supernatural to win,but I didn't think it would get more that 60% of the votes, with House having its last season and all.I was certainly not expecting 78%(so far).
    Can't really complain,to be honest. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  27. Supernatural gets my vote today.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I never liked Buffy, the character, but loved Spike and watched all 7 years. The last year was hard to get thru and I think the writing and characters are much better on SPN. Again that is just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I loved Buffy, and I'd probably vote it over Supernatural. But that is more because if you put my favorite Buffy eps against my favorite SPN eps, I like the Buffy ones way more--not as some metric of overall quality. Because I'm not going to ignore the fact that both shows have that point when the showrunners moved on and things went off the rails. And I'm not even sure the annoyance of RoboSam was as bad as the neverending mistake that was Dawn.

That being said. Like BoxManLocke below, the way you constantly attack with the same hatred of SPN and TVD makes me regret, even in part, agreeing with your underlying position.

  30. Green Arrow was the only reason I watched the last few years of Smallville, am disappointed that Justin is not playing in the new Arrow, but will watch. Wed is going to be great with Arrow and SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You can't just state an argumentative criticism without backing it up and call it "your opinion".

"I like the show" < that's the opinion.

"writing and characters are better on X than on Y" < thats no longer an opinion. Thats a criticism that has to be backed up and I thoroughly disagree. Supernatural had interesting characters, but since then has already killed them all off in favor of mary sue main cast.

    ReplyDelete
  32. What can I say? I view Supernatural as an intentional propaganda of misogyny and sexism. And that is the things that I have fought against my whole life and will never support.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yet again agree to disagree.

The last three seasons of Buffy are what is great for me. First season was meh. Second season started quite weak but after Innocence and Surprise turned into quality TV. Third was around level of second half of S2, Fourth a bit higher than S1. And then S5 came and dwarfed them all in terms of complexity, character development and atmosphere. With S6 Buffy became my all time favorite character and the show - an all time obsession that will never die out.

And at least I can back up my "opinion"(which is mostly argumentative criticism and not really an opinion) with arguments. I know why like BTVS, i have written academic works on why and hows of that show. I know also why I inherently dislike supernatural and any sexist propaganda on television.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yep, agreed. Veronica Mars is one of my all time favorite shows and its depressing taht it was taken off-air, while smallville dragged its feet around for 10 years without even giving us a decent glimpse of Superman.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yep. House is thoroughly brilliant from start to the end. It might have wavered there and there, got a bit stale at times, but when it comes, ti was very consistent in quality and enjoyment. Supernatural on other hand? yeah...not much in terms of consistent quality...and what "Swan Song" has not killed in me, the S6 completely decimated any love i had to the show.

    ReplyDelete
  36. UH, and why is saying I think the writing is better on one show than another, not an opinion? OK I did not like Dawn at all, never from the first moment she showed up, came off as very bratty. Buffy was to me very bossy. I loved James Marster's Spike and his story. You can disagree, I am not trying to tell you what to like, just giving my opinion, just like you have.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You say it yourself; ''I view'', its the way *you* see it. Your perception of something doesn't make it a fact higher than everyone else opinion

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm hoping that Katie Cassidy is good enough for me to be able to put up with the new guy long enough to accept him.

    ReplyDelete
  39. VERONICA MARS. I can't stand Smallville. Not my thing at all. In fact, I don't like Superman as a character in general. Kinda sad that VM will get ousted out of the competition so early.

Supernatural will obviously take this. Though, funny that it is going up against House since they are both shows I gave up on late into their runs. And I don't give up on shows easily. I keep aying I will go back to SPN one day but I just haven't felt motivated to do so, :/

    ReplyDelete
  40. I liked him OK as Brady on TVD and have really liked all the promos that I have seen. He hooked me with the weird chin-up thing he did. lol Love Katie Cassidy, did you see her in Harper's Island?

    ReplyDelete
  41. You act like the show personally attack one of your family members.lol
Everybody have there opinions, but let it go in just vote for your fav.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Borednow

When I watch the show i see neither of the two problems you underline.

The show has two male leads, brothers.
Would you have preferred a brother and a sister? Or is it because Dean enjoys one night stands with faceless women? Is this where the misogyny and sexism comes in?
There have been no lack of female characters on the show, from Mary to Ellen to Jo to Bela to Ruby to Jodie, each treated according to the intrinsic goodness or evilness of their characters.
    I see no misogyny there.

The story is about the love, caring and sacrifice for each other of two brothers who have had a common upbringing and a grim and gruesome childhood,
They save lives on a daily basis, often putting their own in danger for strangers, be they male or female!

Therefore I see no mysogyny or sexism in SPN. There are plenty of other shows out there that do deal in these things if you really want to target one.

As for Buffy, I can't comment on its quality which I'm sure is very high, as I have never seen it, but I'm going to be outlandishly misogynist here and say that I don't go for shows that have young female leads.

    ReplyDelete
  43. yay both my favorite shows won.:D

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well these results deem this a sad day for quality television and overall gender equality in fiction.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Aren't these polls supposed to be daily? Where the heck is the next poll??

    ReplyDelete
  46. If this contest is not over by August 15th, we will start the Ultimate Episode Contest up then. I really want us to be done with that poll before the hellatus is over.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I will get ready because no way this one will be over. To far in between polls.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Woo! So excited. I love our supernatural polls. They are so much fun and keep me so entertained dring te awful hellatus.
